Clyne is looking even more decent even though England Under-19s contrive to emulate their senior counterparts in Normandy by being crap. Him and The Fonz look the only ones likely to make the grade.

As someone has said before Im actually getting a little excited with the news we all really knew that Milner wants out. Villa are absolutely desperate for creativity and a bit of flair. We need to change and buy so if this means losing Milner so be it. Keane is a must up front at £6m and by letting Milner go we must have other players lined up. Lets just hope they have a bit of pace and can play a bit something we really need in midfield.

Well mon has known for a few weeks he wanted to leave so we should assume he must surely have players in mind to sign- I'm just glad things finally seem to be moving .

I think MON has his next few moves lined up or speaking out now about Milner is a foolish move.

Just seen a headline on Fifa's website: 'Villa eager to work with Guardiola'.

You're not wrong.

Lets hope so Mazrim. The General has also returned and his comments of our chairman spending a few weeks with MON sound prositive to me.

Definitely. I think the whole 'Sell to buy' or whatever claim is just a ruse to get the prices down. If other clubs know we have money to spend it would put a couple of mil on all their prices.

I expect Keane before long and when we eventually tie up the Milner deal Ireland to come as part of that. Otherwise, I have no idea what we will do.

not sure what is positive about being told that we have to sell the crap that martin o'neill has purchased on stupid wages that he never uses, before we can strengthen the squad...

The positive is that every other manager in the league, barring Mancini, is in the same boat.

We have to sell players to make way for new players from a salary perspective, not because we need money to pay new transfer fees. That's been repeatedly explained. By the chairman, by the General and now pelty.

I have no problem with that. I want that to happen. Otherwise the figures go through the roof as new players add fuel to the fire.

Yes it is MON's fault as he bought them but who authorized those cheques?
How much we are paying players needs to be reviewed. Especially when they are fringe players.

If Milner does go, lets just hope its not August 31st before the new signings start appearing. I was half expecting one at least this week so the new player/s can take part in pre season and form a bond, so we start the season strongly.

I honestly dont care if its two days after the window has closed because of a Siberian weather front as long as they are the right players.

I agree it has to be the right players but by the end of the transfer window we will have played 3 winnable games, if the team isn't strong and we on get a couple of points, means the point difference towards the end of the season could be make or break for CL. We need to get the right players in now.

Well hopefully the lesson will be learnt. If we are going to pay high wages it can't be on fringe players. Hopefully Freddie and Harewood leaving has dented the wage bill already.
