One point chaps:

Tottenham have Modric, Kranjcar, Aaron Lennon, Bentley, Dos Santos and Danny Rose.

Why on earth would they be attempting to sign another winger?

That said I'd be delighted if this comes off. I think I'd die laughing.

Do Redknapp and O Neill know something we all don't then?

KIAs are quite good these days. McGeady is more of a Robin Reliant.

Aaaarghhhh!

It's a Reliant Robin!

Sorry, pet hate of mine.

Glad you said that, drives me up the f*cking wall too!

O’Neill key man is super Mario
Published: Today
 Add a comment
MARTIN O'NEILL is weighing up an £8million bid for Mario Mandzukic.
Aston Villa's boss sent scouts to check on the Croatia striker on Tuesday and is ready to step up his interest.

O'Neill has received glowing reports on Mandzukic, 23, who struck twice for Dinamo Zagreb in a 5-1 Champions League qualifier win over FC Koper.

The Irishman can bolster his transfer kitty with the anticipated sales of Nigel Reo-Coker, Steve Sidwell and Luke Young.

And he is prepared to use a large chunk of his expected transfer pot to lure Mandzukic to Villa Park.

Mandzukic has guided Zagreb to back-to-back league and cup doubles in Croatia in the last two seasons but wants a fresh challenge in the Premier League.

His representatives are actively looking to find him a top-flight club here and Everton, Tottenham and Arsenal have also expressed interest in him.

Probably for the best. Wasn't the last player we signed from Dinamo Zagreb a certain Mr Balaban?

Hopefully we are being linked to wingers, so we can play 433 formation rather than a replacement for Milner. Our front six would be

----------Petrov
------Milner---Downing
McGeady-----------Young
----------Gabby

Which isn't too shabby but like everyone on here would like a better player on the right hand side

Is McGeady any better than Marc Albrighton would be given that both will likely need a good few games to settle into/get up to speed with the premiere league?

Yes, yes, YES

AC Milan are offering their Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar to Tottenham and Aston Villa as they try to raise money to scupper Manchester City's bid for Wolfsburg's Edin Dzeko. (Daily Mail)

Let's hope the unimaginative dolt pulls his finger out and goes for him.

More likely is Yannick of Sporting, as reported in the press here.
Yannick is a more a MON signing. Young, fast with the first touch of a rapist. At 6 million euros, he's cheap as chips but then there is a logical reason for such a low price.. he's shite.

I don't think I'd like Downing in a central midfield role and am worried by those suggesting it could be on the cards!

We have enough wingers, why not bring in a central midfielder with real bite?

Although I'd like another winger, mainly as our present two both like playing on the left, a midfielder with bite is probably more important.  Of the links we've seen so far, Witsel jumps out at me as being pretty much what we need.

And agree that Downing centrally is a non-starter, IMO.

Imagine Downing in a central pair with Petrov.

We may as well cone off a lane right through the middle and allow full, unfettered access

And if Petrov is dead on his feet on 70 minutes now, it'd be 20 minutes in future.

Jimmy bullard , a stop gap option till delph is fit, but would cost nothing and add a bit of steel to our midfield?
