Bentley, Huntelaar, Ireland & Keane would by superb.

It would be, but I can't see us signing all 4.

They are some good players but assuming we would have to sell Milner in order to fund the moves then we would still have to get in a replacement for Milner - which I guess would take a fair chunk of cash.

Neither work hard enough to do the same job as Milner currently does in a midfield two.

Bentley played in a friendly yesterday and went off with suspected ligament damage.

Can't say I'm too upset at this. Why is it we're constantly linked without overrated British players.......so frustrating.

I don't like that we completely ignore foreign markets (I can't see MON going for Klass-Jan Huntelaar for that reason) but I would still be happy to see us sign a fit Bentley. He was quality at Blackburn - when he was allowed to come inside or play off a front man. He would be one that could add that bit of creativity and invention that we lack.

That's only because Petrov does fuck all, we cannot last another season playing 442 with petrov on a 2

Keane, McGeady and Ireland are not British. Neither are Aurelio and Huntleaar.

If you mean British based players then yes. I'd love us to shop abroad but to be honest I think Bentley and Ireland are two players who have the quality we need. That said the Huntleaar link seems to disagree with that even if I don't believe it. If we signed him I'd be delighted.

Although I like all the names that we've been linked to, well almost, unless we bring in a replacement, or at the very least some competition, for Petrov a midfield of Petrov and Ireland will have the same lack of shape as a midfield of Milner and Petrov.

Exactly. I'd probably prefer an outright defensive player there but this may impact upon creativity.

i agree... unless we put petrov behind a central 2 in the midfield and have 1 up front...

Huntelaar, keane , Ireland and bentley in
milner heskey and sidwell out

I'd be more than happy with that, would make us a much more exciting team going forward and get rid of 2 players who are not good enough as well.

Make better use of NRC then. Might aswell if he's just gonig to run down his contract.

Play him and NRC as the two holders infront of the back 4 then have Bentley, Ireland and Young all just off Gabby.

Well I suppose he's competition, but we need better than Petrov and NRC. They're players for the 6th-10th placed Aston Villa and we need an upgrade.
