Honestly why do some people get so fired up about newspaper rumours? They are mostly created so you'll buy or read the publication. There's barely any truth in them, and the little there is a massive stretch or is a report on something that has actually already happened. If we've all learnt nothing else, it is that deals involving Villa rarely come to light much ahead of when the player actually signs. It's the way we operate. We'll never be like Redknapp gobbing off about every player he wants to have.

I can't say i read too much into links either. They're fine for getting people talking on here i suppose, but they end up being mostly crap. I read a while back we were in competition with Small Heath to sign Kris Boyd. Whoever made that up could'nt have got it more wrong.

Collison is in the Ireland mould, except he's alot more versatile. Reminds me alot of Hleb, ball into feet, comfortable all over the pitch.

Probably not a Milner replacement as I don't think he's got many goals or assists in him, but he does the simple things right, quite tall, athletic and versatile. Would be a massvie upgrade on Sidwell and give us something different.

Very silly decision to ply his trade for Wales, I think.
