They are realistic signings IMO.

Baros could have been a top, top striker, but as you said, he was so incredibly fucking lazy, and moody with it.

Unfortunately, being incredibly fucking lazy is a big obstacle to becoming a top, top striker.

Where does he play now? Is he even still playing?

EDIT Ah, Galatasary. Turkey, the refuge of the "can't really be arsed, but the money's good" footballer.

Also the 'talked up, but never actually any good' footballer.

Seems to work pretty well for everyone, though.

Something like -

Friedel
Onuoha - Cuellar - Dunne - Warnock
Boateng - Petrov - Ireland - Ashley
Eduardo - Agbonlahor

Would be nice. Cuellar and Gabby aside, all are capable passers of the ball. Good mix of strength and versatility.

Petrov to act as the pivot and the other front 5 can all rotate and move about.

We could probably sign all those and have money left over from the Milner deal, too.

Onuoha is the player I really think we should go all out for, can play CB and RB, will be pushed out at City and will likely move to us.

Maybe these scouts would be better scouting English player with similar abilities then. Sorry we owe Africa nothing and judging by this World Cup they're a million miles still behind Europe when it comes to footballing ability. God knows why you're sticking up for African players as I assume you're an Englishman.

Surely it's not helping England either with this flooding of our Premier League of not just African players, but all overseas players.

Sorry, but the one thing MON does do right is try to play young English players and long may it continue.

What a load of utter bollocks.

By your view we might as well ignore all English, Italian, French and Portugese footballers too as they failed to get as far as Ghana did. If you think the African sides are technically limited then you haven't watched three of the four European teams I mentioned who were very, very poor indeed.

I'd agree that some of the weaker sides like South Africa and Algeria weren't that good but then Algeria were far the better side in the game against England.

To decry African players for being technically poor and then call for us to sign English players is about as ridiculous as giving Tony Blair a peace medal! I can't remember the last technically gifted English nay British player I've seen.

Yes there are foreign players stopping the young British players getting through but that is due to premier league millions enabling big clubs to sign whoever they want. Even a club like ourselves we will spend £10million on Keane rather than bringing through a Weimann or Delfouneso from the youth. Even then are any of the youngsters talented enough? For every Gabby there's a Stefan Moore and a whole welter of extremes in between the Luke Moores, the Vassells... Of those four only one of them is a regular for a PL club, one is a reserve at a likely to be relegated one, another playing for a lower Turkish team and another has turned his back on the game altogether.

Also I assume if Essien, Eto'o and Drogba for example were available and desperate to sign for us; You wouldn't want them?

Blaming foreigners for the plight of the national team is very short sighted. The problem is much deeper down. As a nation we are simply not creating technically gifted players. If we were teams wouldn't need to look abraod for the types of players they should be creating themselves.

well we're now joint 14th in the transfer race. the good news is we are now approaching the earliest time mon moves in the transfer market so this week or the week after is theoretically possible for a signing. the bad news is it will probably be keane

We should probably have a sweep or something for who our first signing will be and when.

I'll go July 15th and Keane.

And buy
Keane - £8m
Doyle - £10m

Ireland - £9m
Wright Phillips - £5m (but only at that sort of price)
O'Hara - £8m
£40m

Sweet baby Jesus and the orphans. Keane and Doyle?

do you keep a track of this so called "transfer race" in crayon on your mum's fridge? I can just see a picture, with you, your mum, the sun, your cat, MON hangling from a tree, and a scratched out table tracking transfers. Honestly, what in the hell are you talking about?
