If I'm right you just cursed him.

Did you suggest signing Gyan somewhere else a minute later?

Me? No but Gyan was mentioned on my facebook by a united fan as a player she'd like at Old trafford so I probably did feck him up some somewhow... :-(

I'd take Boateng. He had a good season in a shite Pompey side, but he's looked a different level at the World Cup. Still young too.

Saurez would be good, but even less likely than Forlan probably. I'd love to have either here.

Don't think Pompey will be in a position to demand silly money, but yes, his price will be up.

If we can snag him for 5-6 million, he'd still be good value. I bet Redknapp will be after him too. He's a habit of re-signing players, not long out of Spurs.

True, but as you say there will be others interested. He's been exposed to the footballing world at this world cup and I'm sure a lot of clubs will be looking at him.

Would O'Neill be interested in him? I think he'd be great for us. Some engine on him and the experience of the world cup will stand to him in big games.

One who has impressed me is Perez in midfield for Uruguay. Looks very busy in midfield and never seems to stop. Who he plays for though, i've no idea.

Also what does anyone think about a punt for Graham Dorrans? Looked a very good player for Tesco last season. Seems to have a bit of quality about him.

I actually think he most certainly could be on O Neill's radar. He's go all the  O Neill signing trademarks, plus more. As well as having a bit of quality, he's got the engine as you say, and he's well built. He's quite quick over long distance too. I've been very impressed. I like his movement too, which would be great if we do switch to a 4-3-3.

I remember a year ago when we were linked with Boateng whilst at Spurs most people on here were against the idea of signing him.

But there again the same was said about Doyle when he was at Reading, and now it seems that he is a player we should sign.

I think it is best to let MON sign who he wants and we can then all slag them off in the knowledge that we did not want them to be signed!!

This guy is different! Can't really compare. Boateng is the heartbeat of this Ghana side.

would you at the end of the season said we should sign him then, if so, fine but if not the world cup should make no difference, totally different style of football

Yep, a teamful of Africans did well at Pompey last year, and they'll never win a World Cup either.

What's with the obsession and love in with African players on here? Call me old fashioned, but I rather players with skill and who can be creative rather than be big and strong and will run all day aimlessly.

So would I, I see enough of that in B6 *wink*

Still, i think you're being unfair on some of the players tonight, Ghana passed the ball around very, very well indeed, their technique was excellent.

It's this style of player and coaches love for in this country that has led to where the national team is currently.

Watching that match tonight, the recurring thought for me was how both of those sides would have murdered England.
