Cameroon international midfielder Modeste M'Bami has hinted he could join Aston Villa this summer.

The 27-year-old, who had trials with Portsmouth, Bolton, Wolves and Wigan before linking up with Almeria, is again a free agent.
.

He's a modest little person with much to be modest about.

Recall he was well regarded a few years ago. I think he's a foot in sort of midfielder. It would seem given the clubs he's tried out for, his stock has fallen.

Kevin Prince Boateng and Asamoah Gyan please, they'd be excellent signings. Probably could get them both for about £13 million combined.

For the price boateng would cost we have to buy him, he has looked really good in every game in this world cup!

Annan is the star of the ghana midfield and would be a perfect signing for us but I'd accept Boateng if we went for him, I reckon he could turn out to be a bit of an Ian Taylor box-to-box man.

Do quite like the look of gyan, but I'm not sure he'd score enough, has 3 in the WC but 2 are from the spot and he hasn't looked like scoring too often otherwise.  Might be because of the role he's playing but I'm not convinced.

There's actually very few strikers I've been impressed with so far, after the argies, forlan and villa no one has looked great.

Most people on here a fortnight ago seemed sickened by the idea of Boateng for reasons unknown. For £2 million that has been quoted in some newspapers he's the very definition of a risk-free buy.

As I've said before he's a great player, who tries things and is arrogant enough to not know how bad he is. However, I had £10 on him to be first scorer in the FA Cup final at 25-1 and some scars don't heal.

Trouble is with each decent game this world cup his value increases and increases.

What's with the obsession and love in with African players on here? Call me old fashioned, but I rather players with skill and who can be creative rather than be big and strong and will run all day aimlessly.

It's this style of player and coaches love for in this country that has led to where the national team is currently.

Just to mention that Prince-Boateng is German and chose to play for Ghana.

very average player for Portsmouth and they will be delighted at this world cup as it will mean extra coffers in the bag for a bankrupt club from some daft team somewhere.

the only one for Portsmouth I would be interested in is O'Hara.

If I'm right you just cursed him.

Did you suggest signing Gyan somewhere else a minute later?
