I'd rather have Rodwell, seriously.

Probably cost 20 mill though. Hadn't he signed a pre-deal with Utd? Or was that just a rumour?

He'll probably end up there though. Quality player though.

Rodwell has signed a new deal with Everton this summer.

You mean in that we can keep offering more and more money until they can't say no.

No, obviously I mean that we would both be selling our best players to close rivals.

I would take Arteta, Felliani, Pienaar or Rodwell. They would all improve us imo

Pienaar would be a good signing, IMHO. A nice medium between Downing and Young.

Arteta would be a great signing but I imagine there would be bigger fish than us after in and I'd be very surprised if he came to us!

I think Spurs or Man City would be after him, but not any of the 'big 3' here.  I can see him moving to back to Spain to try and get into the national side.

He usually plays further back in the team but when they had an injury crisis up front he played there.

They have a lot of versitality in midfield though so sometimes he might play in an attacking midfield role rather than Arteta and they would use Neville and Rodwell in defensive areas.

Juan Riquelme - out of contract and wanted by the hammers,
according to bbc transfer gossip dooby.

He`s  31 and your archetypal playmaker. World class on his day,
( which is the 29th feb ) would n`t  cost much. Maybe he could
         jobshare with an other.

For anyone who does n`t  know him, he is a bit like Arteta on
Valium and can boss a game when he is in the mood.

"Can boss a game when he is in the mood"  Will the mood be dependent on the weather and the opposition, see Robinho, if so, no thankyoo

Instead of having the "Togolese Zidane" we could have the
original Riquelme... and for about the same money.
Seb Veron has caught a second wind and he is several years older.

Think of him as a replacement for Salifou... In fact, don`t bother,
life is to short to get depressed. Next...

I'm sure the last time the question was put to Riquelme(when he was at Villareal) about moving to England he said that he wanted to either stay in Spain or go back to Argentina because he wanted to keep speaking Spanish, and his kids were settled etc. I'd be very surprised if a Prem club could persuade him to come to England.

I read an interview with Mascherano not so long ago and he said that both he and Tevez pretty much sat in their houses all day, not going out or interacting with anyone, even their teammates. Both of them can barely speak English despite having been in the country for a while now, and their families don't like living here. The interview seemed to suggest that there was a bit of a culture shock with some Argentinians moving to England, whereas they tend to thrive playing in Spain and Italy because of the culture, lifestyle and the language isn't such a massive problem.

I thought Tevez "chose" an English team because he wanted his kid (s) to go to school in England.Maybe i got that wrong.

Riquelme, great player, but a bit of a headcase.File under not worth the aggro.
