Of those four, Bellamy is the one I would take, I'm afraid - much as I dislike him.

I'd take Bellamy too, he's knocking on a bit but still a class player. The rest are the type of players I'd expect the Rags to be looking at.

You'd have to think, if Keane doesn't join us where could he realistically go now?

Another top 4 rival? Highly unlikely. Everton? Maybe. But far more realistically it would be Sunderland, West Ham or possibly Wolves - for old times sake.

He could definitely do better than SHA though. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

The Rags finished above Sunderland, West Ham and Wolves, in 9th position. Did you miss the open bus, town hall reception?

Where would you play Bellamy and which current players would you play with him?

Aye.

But it's hardly a typical season for them, is it?

Could be my bias, I suppose but everything about that club shouts (and stabs and vomits) smalltime. From their crap ground and crap supporters to their celebration of thuggishness and lower league achievements. As soon as you pull up at St Andrews it looks depressing, like the back end of an industrial estate.

Sunderland at least get good gates, West Ham have something approaching tradition (though perhaps not as much as they like to think) and the London factor. And Wolves have a decent tradition, plus Keane  started out there.

I'd say all three would be a better long term bet than the b-lose, but then I'm not exactly impartial.

Young can play on the right but his best position is on the left by far.  So to make room for Bellamy we have to play one of our best players out of position.

As somebody else has said, he is one injury away from the end of his career at the top and he is no spring chicken.  I do not see left side is an area we need to spend money on, there are far weaker areas in the team.

So, Bellamy is a good player and has had a good season but no thanks.

Dont usually disagree with you Percy but I'm going to have to there.

To me he's no more than a useful, tidy player who will never be a prolific goalscorer.

Richards, Ireland, Parker and Keane with Milner and the deadwood going would be decent business for me.

We'd have a better side on paper, and a sack of money in the bank to keep for finance a luxury purchase should an opportunity come available after the world cup.

Mix of youth and experience there, although (presuming Heskey goes) we'd still have Dunne, Parker, Petrov and Keane all over 30 on big wages with relatively long deals. Friedel and John too, but I believe theirs runs out next Summer?

I think Doyle is going to be top class. He performed admirably on a 4-5-1.

He may not have scored many goals, but that is only because he had a lot more to do in his game. If Wolves sign another quality striker like Fletcher, then Doyle will flourish and score many goals next season.

He is strong, quick, hard working, intelligent off the ball, great decisions holding the ball or passing it.

In my opinion he is better than Heskey and Carew for sure. But there is no chance we can sign him

Why so shocked?
I think he is overall better than Carew.
And Wolves will not accept any offers below 15m.
