The defining moment of the MON non-rotation game was when he actually rested Milner away to Bolton, played Delph and errrrrrr we won the game.

Anyone got the back 4 we won at Anfield with. You'd be surprised.

I thought Milner had a knock for that game as oposed to being left out for any rotation?

I asked my dad after the game as I watched it illegally at a pub and he said the radio said he'd been rested ahead of the cup semi against Chelsea.

In any case we won a league game away without Milner contributing so surely that should've told MON some of the squad players could come in and do a job from time-to-time rather than flogging the regular 11 to near death come March time.

I think it showed one of them (Delph) could.

And I think it was his showings in the cups that got him that start.  So rather than Martin saying to himself "I'll see if Fabian is good enough" it was him saying to himself "I've seen enough of him to know Fabian is good enough."

Good point re Anfield.

Not sure if we had even signed Dunne, Collins or Warnock by that point.

It's not unusual to play your strongest available side in the league and use the cups as an opportuinity to rotate.

What about when your best players are so knackered they're no longer your best players?

That would be a less than perfect scenario, however I don't think that happened to us this season.

That makes three of you in the entire world.

No we hadn't.

It was Beye....Cuellar....Davies....Shorey

Now I don't rate three of them and wouldn't be sorry to see them go this summer but if they as a unit can go to Anfield and only concede one goal against Torres, Gerrard, Benayoun etc..surely some of them could've been trusted to start games at home to VP particularly the ones we drew. I'm thinking of the time Carlos was struggling a bit at RB and Dunney's achilles was playing up. IIRC Beye also played well at home to Spurs.

The radio was wrong. I know it's hard to believe if it was Alan Green who stated it.

Milner was rested. The most he did that afternoon was have a trundle down the touch line as a sub.

Does anyone think Beckford's worth a punt?
Don't know if he's been discussed.

Not sure he's worth signing, but we've just received the sad news that ex-H & V contributor Coopers Injury has been found dead in his Nechells bedsit.
Cause of death is uncertain at the moment, but it is believed that he wanked himself to death.

Because Stan never looked dead on his feet at all.

I didn't see it.

Petrov looks fucked in most games in the last 20 minutes.

Shame NRC and Delph were unavailable for periods of last season. Ideal replacements with fresh legs and energy.

NRC was available for the last five games of the season and wasn't used at all.

So I'm not sure he would've been used that much when he got injured.

Same for Delph, played well against Manure in a 5 man midfield and then disappeared for a couple of months although apparently he was late for training?

Sidwell was first choice until December when we had the reshuffle and then was usually the first choice to come on for Milner or Petrov.

There's a rumour Redknapp wants Ashley and is willing to offer a swap deal with 2 of the following

Keane
Pavylechenko
Bentley

I'd take any of those two for ash.

Before people ask it's off an Aston villa news app.
