If Milner wants to go (theres nothing to suggest he does) then sell him. I don't want any players putting on our colours if they don't want to be there. Fuck 'em off.

Not sure how this one is going to play out TBH.

If Citeh are in the box seat bid-wise he might be swayed with the promise of cash and plenty more top quality players to come. Personally though, I reckon if it's a straight choice out of them and us he'll opt to stay here.

There was very little between the two clubs last year,  even with their blitzkrieg approach to the transfer market. They don''t have CL football, have never really been viewed as one of the more fancied sides in England and Jimmy has gone on record as saying a settled environment has pushed his game on in recent seasons.

This is the first club he's been at where the manager has lasted longer than a year, he goes to Citeh and he could be played out of position or be out of favour altogether if the latest in vogue manager pitches up in January and wants to tear the thing up again.

If it's United though, I'd say he'll be off. In fact he'd be pretty foolish not to go.

I could just about stomach him going to Man Utd, but I think selling our best player to Man City sends all the wrong messages out to potential signings and the rest of our current squad.

However, I'm quietly confident he's going nowhere!

So Milner, NRC, Sidwell all going while Delph is broken until Xmas so looks like as usual Petrov will be the one man central midfield next season.

Law of averages suggests they won't all go.

I really can't see Milner leaving. Aside from the club's evident determination not to let him go, I don't see him as the mercenary type.

He has also just had his breakthrough season. His dramatic rise has come under a manager with obvious faith in his ability, who is playing him in his preferred position and will play him in every game. He is also the future club captain, hopefully next season.

As discussed in other threads, there are plenty of sales (at least six) to be made this summer, and they'll need to be replaced. I think Lerner/O'Neill will be keen to keep our major assets - Milner, Gabby, Young and build on them, the centre-backs and Warnock.

I see two major buys (one the striker) and a bunch between £3-8m.

Disagree, Mark. The owner doesn't want to sell, the manager doesn't want to sell and we've no evidence to suggest that player wants to go to Man City. He might, but it's a huge assumption to suggest he's completely motivated by cash like that fat bastard we sold them last summer.

The same Fat Bastard who is going to spend the next few weeks getting in Jimmy's ear and telling how much greener the grass is on the other side.

I hope he's got plenty of credit on his phone then! I imagine it would cost a fair whack calling South Africa from Manchester!

Fabregas is leaving...

Does anyone actually think Wenger might want Milner?

Maybe, but where would he find the extra cash on top of the Fabregas fee to be able to afford him?

If we are offered anything above £25m, then tbh, i think i would let him go, but if Citeh are after him, get either Richards or Onohua, plus Ireland , plus cash, and maybe even Bellamy or Adebayor.

If Ure want him, Hargreaves, if fit, plus £20m.

I would want 20 and Ireland at a minimum. He is on a decent contract, and Ireland, Santa Cruz and Richards could all be useful to us. Maybe 10 and those 3 and you have a deal!

I know Milner hasn't said anything about a move but give credit to Cahill. Just signed a new contract which will take him past a decades service to Everton. There is still some loyalty...... :)

I would think Cahill's situation is more to do with the fact that nobody in their right minds would pay good money for a guy who is only ever one divot away from the end of his career.

Does anyone think Beckford's worth a punt?
Don't know if he's been discussed.
