Ok, although according to gregnash im a fuckwit, i do see our midfield lacking height.  We have plenty of ball winners on the ground, especially if the likes of Parker and Ireland come through, but Plan A will remain trying to outfootball the opposition.  Against Blackburn it was most frustrating to see Friedel punt the high ball up in the first hour with only Carew really having an a fair chance against the big buggers, and he is no Heskey when it comes to winning the ball and playing it off.  Other that that we are lacking.  And Plan B can be the direct route to goal, but not if you are playing Stoke et al with ickle people in your midfield.  Just a thought

Is that the way you see our Plan A at the moment? Outfootballing the opposition?

Although these Randy quotes suggest we won't have much to spend in net terms. And given the loss we're likely to make on the players we seem to be putting up for sale I think that puts my list out of the equation:

"A £30m striker would be out of our budget but there is money there to be spent on the team.

"I say that carefully in the context of knowing that the summer brings a very dynamic environment of players coming and going so I'm careful not to simply say 'here is a brand new amount of money, go and spend it'.

"I would prefer to say our ambition remains to get better and we are not in some sort of mode where we are shutting the door on spending on players.
"Is there a sell to buy policy? I think there is a sell to buy policy in every organisation on the planet.

"On the other hand if an opportunity arises and the net 'sell to buy' doesn't equal what is required to take advantage of an opportunity, then you may spend the money. I wouldn't exclude us from the group who would do that."

No wonder he doesn't do a lot of press conferences. He doesnt half talk a load of bollocks.

I'm kidding, I'm kidding.

Bless him.

No wonder he spends so much time over here talking to Martin. It must take those two 40 minutes to exchange "good mornings" effectively.

I think it's an example of 'covering the bases' or whatever buzzwords Americans find suitable.

That's like Cheryl Cole telling people they can't sing. Remember, gregnash also thinks Paul Scholes can't pass.

Guzan, Collins, Clark, Petrov, Downing, Carew, Delfouneso

O.K, there isnt a new out and out striker perhaps but still a lot of potential for goals in that side I think.

Not bad, but as others have said, I can't see Wenger selling.

Id go:

------------------------Friedel-----------------------
Manolev-------Dunne--------Collins------Warnock
-------------------------------------------------------
----------------Petrov-------Aliou Diarra-------------
---------------------------------------------------------
------Ireland-----------Milner----------------Ash----
--------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------Llorente----------------------

Gabby from the bench in the latter stages of a match could be a potent weapon.

Also like the look of Diame at Wigan for DM. Height, power but can also control the ball and play a bit.

BBC reporting from caughtoffisde.com that Man City looking to bid for Ashley Young and Agbonlahor.

Can't see Gabby going. I can see Young getting a bit big headed and wanting to move like Lescott did last season.

I know. The website that said Sol Campbell was the 2nd quickest player in the league.

Laugh out loud.
