I'm surprised to see Wenger interested in Keven Doyle, but that doesn't change my own opinion that he would be a good squad player for us, but isn't 'the answer'!

Anyone else think that the links to strikers like Doyle and Boothroyd might suggest both Carew AND Heskey are off, so we'd need that new topline striker plus one of their grade to fill out the squad?

Doyle and a top class striker would be fine by me.

Doyle on his own, nah.

I bet he's off to that horrid, tasteless Dubai place that footballers love so much.

Emirates have a base at Birmingham.

He just wants to move to a top 6 club. Nothing wrong with that.

If Spuds want to offload Palacios he might fill the job of new defensive midfielder

I'm all for Ireland too, but I can't see how he'd work alongside Milner in a midfield four

Doyle ?, yes in exchange for Heskey. But we'd still need a TOP CLASS goalscorer. Doyle is just another workhorse

Its a safe bet to say we might not be making any movement in the transfer market until at least early July, and thats wether MON is still around or not.

Theres a good chance Carew will be off, although based on his finish to the campiegn I would like him to stay even if its only as a squad player.  Think we need someone fresh to put preasure on Gabby and give him the kick up the backside he so richly needs.

Harry will not sell Palacios.

Personally, I don't rate Palacios. He just runs round fouling like Mascherano.

Give me Palacios or Mascherano in our midfield as anchor man any day of the week

I'd take Palacios over Mascherano, not because I think he's a better player but because he'd give what we lack in the centre - a bit of height and power!

Yeah not really a Palacios fan, he's done nothing for me this season, on the other hand Mascherano is quaity and would add something different to our midfeld.

Always  playing  two  wingers  is  the  problem.   At  our  level

We  don`t  have  the  quality  to  guarantee  a  threat  and  we`re

not  about  to  sign  a  Rooney / Drogba.

I`d  rotate  Ashley/Downing and  Gabby  even,  if  the  cap  fits.

I  think  Ireland  and  Milner  would  be  a  nice  fit  too,  Yam.

Ireland  would  often  recieve  the  ball  where  Stan  does ( when

he  catches  up  with  play ) and  pick  a  better  pass.

Have  a  midfield  of  Pinnear/ Stan     Milner     Ireland   and  a

winger/wide  man  to  suit.  Dependant  on  a  no:9   to  hold  the

ball  up  and  a  big  bucks  Goalscorer  with  excellent  movement

like  a  Robbie  Keane  of  4  years  ago. I  think  Heskey  and  Fonz

would  look  better  in  this  set - up  aswell.

A  playmaker  and  goalscorer  then... err  yeah.

David Nugent has gone back to Pompey. Got a funny feeling he'll end up at The Shit.

Sunderland have signed Christian Riveros. I mentioned him about 50 pages ago as someone who would offer a bit of creativity for a small fee. It's a bit of a gamble but Bruce (or his scouts) have had a lot of success in recruiting players from Central and South America in the past.
