Cheers, tsvet. I've just seen a few clips on youtube, he reminds me of Warnock. Likes to get forward and can deliver a ball into the box. He might need to beef himself up a bit, as he ssems a bit thin. The fact that we have Stan at the club can only be a good thing in helping him intergrate, should we sign him.

Reminds you of Warnock? Unco-ordinated, has trouble staying on his feet, has a penchant for over hitting passes, is sometimes the best tackler at the club, doesn't get forward as much as I would like him to, seems to have great games and utterly awful ones......right, ok ;-)

Oi you, lay off Warnock. He started the season brilliantly, it's not his fault our coaches have turned him into a bit of a headless chicken. ;-)

Warnock has looked a bit ropey since his injury, but still one of the best left backs in the country.

Would welcome the signing of Manolev (even if that does sound a bit too close to Man love. Opposition fans could go to town on that one) the type of player we probably haven't signed enough of in the past.

Namely, if they don't have 150+ appearances in the Prem, they aren't usually on our radar.

A brave new era, MON taking punts on players from foreign leagues? Or a return to an earlier Villa policy of Played alright against us so lets sign him?

Linked with Martin Petrov for £5m on goal.com (so it must be true).

It would seem Stan Petrov is now our head scout.

I like Martin Petrov as he chips in with goals and is a good crosser of the ball but he's over 30 now and regularly gets injured.

Carlton Cole, dear god no.

Don't knock it.

If it means we sign Man love and Berbatov it could be a masterstroke.

News about Manolev just announced on one of the national TV channels - they quoted Dutch media. They said PSV refused to comment. The web site I mentioned this morning are also saying similar things - they asked the Sports Director of Lovech (Litex will get a % of any future transfer of Manolev from PSV) and he said "I cannot comment". So they are guessing there is some truth in it (truth in the transfer rumours, not the Villa bit indeed).
I know for a fact Stilyan has been asked by Villa about his opinion on Manolev last summer.
Regarding Martin Petrov - forget about it! Unless Martin O'Neil has a 100% change of mind.

What about Miro Klose? Looks like he can't even make the bench for Bayern at the moment.

MON needs a slap if he signs Cole...unless it actually turns out to be a good signing obviously (which I doubt).

Klose would be the sort of punt that must be worth it - bit to prove, fresh challenge and proven in the past, BUT age counts against him, as we already have 2 aged forwards that are crippled half the time nad play on at half pace.

Like the sound of a bit of man love at right back, especially if MON ends his man love with Carlos in favour of it.

Martin Petrov - for 2-3 million would be a great squad addition and indeed a very useful player to give Young and Shirking a break (some for longer than others)

Please please hope this Carlton Cole rumour is not true. We need a striker in a totally different class than Cole. Falcao presses all the right buttons. And we already have a class right back. Would also like Steve Ireland ....

Like Ger and Jonzy, I've seen a good bit of Doyle through his appearances for Ireland. We're a workmanlike side under Trappatoni and to be honest Doyle has impressed me a lot - particularlt with the physicality he's added to his game. Starting off at Cork City and then Reading he was a flightly fella with a few tricks and good finishing ability but a bit lightweight as I said. He's now a lot more accomplished. Very good header of the ball too. Reminds me a bit of Kevin Phillips ten years ago.

At Wolves and Ireland he's been in teams who don't see much of the ball in the attacking third which account for his modest scoring record since leaving Reading. He's technically very good too and still improving.

No big club has taken a punt on him so I can understand people being sceptical but I think he's got all the attributes to flourish at a big team.

I'm not knocking it. I can't see Berbatov staying in England but at least it shows MON has got round to asking his foreign players about targets. I wonder if he's already asked Carlos about David Villa?

Thanks for the update tsvet. Keep them coming.
