I quite fancy Steven Ireland, would he come to us though? We lack a Merson type player in the centre who can either come in to switch our style of play or just sit alongside Petrov and make things happen from the centre.

I would not touch Bullard with the large shitty ugly stick that he hit on the way into this world, the odd looking bugger. Everyones favourite non-their-team player, and rarely have I seen why. More importantly, he has played about 6 games in 2 years, and his attitude has to be questioned. Ran from Fulham for the money at Hull, then has fallen out with Brown, causing the final straw for him to be sacked, and now he and Dowie clearly don't see eye to eye. Hodgson got rid at Fulham and they have not missed him, so lets face it, he isn't going to do an awful lot for us.

I think we could all list at least 5 players who've been doing that at Villa for a few seasons. If he's fit he could be a cheap addition to the squad as long as he took a drop in wages. That's all I'm saying.

Your forgetting the O'Neill factor. 5 minutes with Martin would soon sort his head out, the one thing you can say is his players always give 100%.
The only downside is Robertson and Walford would turn him into a pub player.
