If we didn't have much of a chance of getting a player like Flamini last season we have even less chance at the moment.  The Snejder thing came up before he had confirmed himself as a world class/champions League level, after the WC we have no chance getting a player like that.

Minis Milner we might need as many as three midfielders to fill the hole (for the reason it might be hard to attract the one outstanding player to fix it), but if we do hold on to him, then I'd say just buy one other which is the ball player/playmaker we need.

Villa's setback in Scott Parker chase

Quote
Sullivan said today: “The situation with Parker has not changed. Villa will not have enough money to tempt us to sell Scott.

It's this sort of crap that makes me think we were never after him in the first place. He clearly just wants his name plastered all over the media with 'Villa have no money' headlines. Cretin.

I'd rather relieve Milner of having to drop soo deep to help out Petrov and get someone like Flamini in and push James further forward, but it's horses for courses I guess, same sort of end goal.

What do you guys and girls think of the Rodallega rumour a while back?  I was very impressed with him at Wigan last season, but I would question if he quite had power to make the step up at a bigger club, and in more high profile games.  But he did seem to have something about him, and might just bring that element of suprise to preceedings.  For the right money it might be worth a gamble.

Pornodwarf couldn't be more obviously trying to sell Scott Parker if he packaged him as a Phallus.
The poisonous little monkey scrote.

Is he seriously trying to to kid clubs into paying stupid money for Parker by challenging their ability to spend?
Fucking imbecile. Just die already.

I think he's good and would be a good addition. Only for the right money. Wigan are fuckers for only selling when they want and for how much they want.

Wigan just sell their best players every year for the highest bidder. They may as well flog them on fucking ebay.

We'll just sign Flamini then. Twice the player; Half the price!

Errr yes. It was Sneijder who we purportedly tried to sign last season not Flamini. There is a big gap in quality between the two which is why one went to Internazionale for £20million and the other is linked with a £5million move to us or a loan move to Newcastle. One played regularly for Real Madrid and only found himself cast aside when they signed Ronaldo and Kaka. The other struggled to play in his favoured position in an underperforming AC team.

Don't get me wrong: Flamini is a magnificent player and just what we need in midfield but he's not out of our league as a signing.

We'll see, I would like a stronger indercation than that before I get too excited.

Yes I agree that Snidjer is much better than Flemini, I was just saying that when we did show an intrest last season there was at least an outside chance, but as a result of the last year, we now would have no chance.  On the other hand Flemini would be gettable, but still unlikely.

Looks like the Milner deal is off

I actually feel quite sorry for MON.  It must be a nightmare trying to plan who to buy.

I'd guess most of his planning during last season would not have included a replacement for Milner.  Since the end of the season I'd imagine he'll have been squabbling through his scouting files looking for a Milner replacement, at short notice, but with a big "war chest".

If the *cough* Mirror is to be believed it's likely that he's back to having limited money but keeping (an unhappy) Milner.

I doubt that Milner would be unhappy to stay at Villa and we have money to spend. Not having to replace Milner is only a good thing as I see it.

That said, I dont think this is over yet and the fact The Mirror says it is just proves it.

I agree actually. He is gettable I'm just not sure we'll try and get him no matter how much the H+V masses (myself included) want him.

If Man City don't want Milner any more (and I find the Mirror about as believable a source as a crack addict I just met on a bus) then so be it. The article from The Grauniad last week seemed to suggest that Milly wasn't as keen to leave as many think so I don't think he'll be unhappy at all if he stayed on.

Admittedly it would affect our transfer budget but I think we'll still have enough to get Keane in a cut price deal and possibly a good midfielder before selling any of the six. We'll keep a quality player and with one or two good acquisitions we'll be in good shape for next season.

I would personally be happy with our current squad plus a new midfielder to replace Sidwell and Keane to score goals . I would even play NRC as is a decent player

Also play Young at right back and funny enough I do think we have a good side.

                               Friedel

Young Cuellar Dunne Warnock
Downing Milner Flamini Young
         Gabby Keane

Subs Guzan, Collins, Lichaj, Petrov, NRC, Carew, Delph

With the best of squad we do have, if can keep them happy and inject 3 new faces I think we would do ok
