And he's Scottish which is sort of foreign to some. However, he's not a big enough name, only 8 letters, so maybe they wouldn't be satisfied.

I'll try and make a convincing argument for signing Montolivo and the like, but deep down I'll be happy with Jan Venegoor of Hesselink.

On the subject of Montolivo (as we suddenly are), I've said it before, isn't he the exact kind of midfielder we need to transform our style of play? I mean, the extra through-ball, flashy flick kind of spark in the final third is all well and good, but Montolivo's the type who can dictate tempo from the middle third of the park.

Plus he looks the spit of Milan Baros.

My Villa supporting uncle would probably do himself a mischief if he thought we'd gone and signed Baros again.
