Well, its a monkey who is trained in the ways of a butler.
Although in the North East they'd just hang it as a French spy.

Boateng from Pompey or Etuhu from Fulham for some extra legs in midfield, as well as a sreative player and a forward.

I'm sorry to say that they have the exact same amount of legs as any of our current midfielders and nowhere near as talented.

Boateng from Pompey

One good game doesn't mean anything.  Especially against the player's former team.

I actually think you'll find Boateng had been decent for Pompey before his injury. There's also Parker for a couple of years on the cheap, O'Hara could be worth a shout.

Strikers - Should've got Bent but he'd be too much now. Keane could rediscover his form and be good for two seasons. Cole could do a 'Heskey job' but score every so often but there's not much in England worth considering and I'm not too hot with the foreign names.

KPB was Portsmouths stand out player at Villa Park this season.

I was very impressed.

With regard to KPB, does anyone remember when it was claimed we'd signed him a couple of summers back? All hell broke loose on here about him being shit and not good enough for spurs then not good enough for us.

He would need a proper pre-season to make him leaner and his attitude may be questionable but there's no doubt he has ability on the ball. I actually remember someone from SPurs saying he's a 'great player' when he went to Portsmouth but had never beenn given th chance.

Etuhu is an awful player. No technique whatsoever. Even Fulham fans will tell you that (and Sunderland fans too) I'd be pretty dpressed to see us go for him. We could and should be aiming for better than that surely?

Yer didn't the journos mistake Routledge who did sign for KPB.

I think he is a good player, NRC's energy, but can play a bit too.  If we had him this season I think he would have played more than Delph, and he's certainly better than Sidwell.  A squad improvement rather than a first 11 improvement, which we obviously need as well.  Just think he wouldn't cost the earth given Pompey's plight.

A lot of people (me included) think we need c. 3 quality players, but I don't think we can spend 12 mill on each of these unless we sell a star player.  Hence my KPB suggestion.

The Pompey fans I spoke to on saturday night were amazed how Boateng had suddenly passed himself fit for the semi when he has been nowhere to be seen during their relegation battle.

Agree about Diame, he's looked good every time I have seen him play and would be good cover for Petrov. Has a good shot on him as well I think, didn't he score a screamer against Sunderland this season?
