Thank God for Dan Haren.
A win at last.

I think that the combination of Haren and Webb, together with young hitters like Justin Upton, should allow the D'Backs to run away with the NL West.

If we only had to play the NL West I would agree with you but we are really struggling against any other team and inter-league play is killing us.
We also have to travel to Boston next week.
There is talk of Upton been sent down to the minors to build up his confidence,I hoping he will battle through it because there is no doubt that he has talent and just like the rest of the line up he is trying to crush every ball to break himself out of the slump.
A couple of bloop singles here and there would do him the world of good.

Know what pisses me off?

Team trailing by a run or two late in the game - batters that have no discipline who swing at the first pitch and pop up to short or hit a dribbler back to the mound.

Whatever happened to working the count? Lenny Dykstra was a master of this, as was Pete Rose (and many others).

Playing in the AL East means that they're up against it every year. However, this year's been particularly bad. Looks like they'll be battling the Baltimore Orioles for last place. I expect that they'll soon start trading away players (eg AJ Burnett).

Meanwhile the surprising Tampa Bay Rays are top of the division having won three in a row over my Red Sox

Snyder was hit by a foul ball off the bat of Milwaukee outfielder Corey Hart in the fourth inning. Snyder was diagnosed with a left testicular fracture and will have surgery on Wednesday.
