Serious question, why do so many US sportspeople have really foolish names? These two are fairly mild in comparison to, say Yancey Thigpen, Coco Crisp or Misty Hymen but they're pretty daft nonetheless.

Good question....I think in many cases a nicknames sticks and become the accepted name.

Chipper's real name is Larry. But Chase is Chase. I've got a nephew called Eddie, who we always call "Reds" (he's a ginger). It wouldn't be uncommon then for a future child to be called Reds (maybe?)

As bad as always. They recently had a 12 game losing streak.

The Royals are currently bottom of the AL Central Division and have the fourth worst win/loss record in the Major Leagues
