After the Japanese diversion and last night's one game (the first in Washington's new ballpark), today things start in earnest.

So, who's ya got.

Will the Cubs win at last after a century of failure ?

Will the Yankees or Mets say goodbye to their old ballparks with a World Series title ?

Just how bad will the Giants be now that Barry Bonds is gone ?



Of course none of the above questions really matter because the Red Sox will retain their crown.

Currently getting a bit of a hammering in their first game

No chance IMO, their pitching isn't up to scratch.

I predict a Braves/Tigers WS, two teams without any real holes. Solid rotations, monster offences and plenty of BP options.

Should be a great year of baseball regardless.

FWIW Phillies gave up 5 runs in the top of the 9th to lose their home opener 11-6....oh well, at least we're not the Cubs......we've had one series win in the last 100 years......

I'm hoping to take in a few minor league games in Rome, GA this year and the odd trip to Atlanta to see the Braves.
