Baseball team racks up football score.

Its great to see this type of thing happen. One thing that I hate about US sports is their aversion to "running up the score" (since the winning team was 32-0 up after 5 innings I suspect that the game was called after seven).

When given the opportunity it should be every sportsperson's duty to score as many point as possible and humiliate the opposition.

Atlanta Braves release Tom Glavine

Glavine's just had a rehab start in the Minors and said he was ready to make his MLB return. However, rather than reinstate him, Atlanta cut him instead; thus saving $3.5m.

In the off season the Braves let John Smoltz leave, now they've dumped Glavine. The legend that was the Braves pitching staff is now at an end.

WOW

I just came on here to post the exact same thing.

I really still can't believe it.

The guy has been around and pitching since well before I even followed baseball.

Congratulations to Randy "The Big Unit" Johnson on becoming the 24th (and probably last) pitcher to win 300 games in the Major Leagues.

He might be an 'orrible bastard but he's been one hell of a pitcher.

Video

Back in 2000 I was on the field in Phoenix as part of the pre-game ceremony before a Diamondbacks game. Randy had lost the previous day and was sat in the dugout. I aimed my video camera at him as I walked past. The scowl I recorded is incredible; its a wonder that the lens didn't shatter.

Can't believe that I missed this yesterday

35th Anniversary of 10 cent beer night

For those not familiar with this story, the outcome was what you'd expect when a ballpark charges just 10 cents per beer; which even 35 years ago was cheap.

Not to take anything away from Beckett, because he was great, but Burnett was AWFUL...

How is this guy a starter while Hughes isn't?
I don't get it...

Also, tonight is Wang, which should be awful.

Isn't the "English" language wonderful. "Wang" and "Kaka" send Americans into hysterics.

They think pants should be worn on the outside so they're not in the best position to mock.
