Bobcat thinks this bloke was akin to Paul McGrath.

If you think it's fake watch the link i posted above.

Can you bet on a wrestling match?

I think that answers if it's fake or not.

fake [fayk]
n (plural fakes)
1.  something not genuine: somebody who or something that is not genuine but is presented as, or appears to be, genuine

It's called sports entertainment. Some people enjoy the storylines.

Just because it is premeditated (like plays, pantos, films, soaps and most forms of entertainment) doesn't mean it is fake.

Fake implies they are telling you it is real violence, when infact there are clear warnings in the programmes that tell you it is not...

So they are hologrammed are they?  How does a man fake a back flip or pretend to throw himself off a twenty foot cage for example?

OK, they don't punch each other clean in the gob but the blood is real, see if you can get to see the film "Beyond The Mat" or read Mick Foley's autobiography.

I am sure some people wonder why you pay good money to watch 22 men kicking a leather ball around a park for 90 minutes. It's your personal choice.

Good point. Most of what humans do for fun is pretty abritrary when you really think about it. Strokes for folks and all that.

Joe vs Necro 1 has always been one of my favourite matches of recent time, its like watching a NASCAR car crash highlight reel.

I also liked Daniels vs Styles vs Joe as well.

And of course Joe vs Kobashi.

It is fake in the sense that all the 'moves' are pre-agreed, the other bloke allows it to happen, the result is decided by storyline, the moves don't cause injury etc.

How can you buy into something, and genuinely enjoy it, when you know that the whole thing is a glorified bit of choreography.

I've no problem with Wrestling as long as its accepted that its just a form of entertainment (basically a violent soap opera akin to The Sopranos) not sport.

My problem is that wrestling is shown on TV sports channels. Sky need to stop promoting and showing the events on their sports channels and move the coverage to Sky One, Two or Three.

I quite enjoy going to the theatre. Gigs as well can be enjoyable.

Hell, even a bit of (whisper it) choreographed dance.

Its on the sports channels for one reason only, Sky make more money from the extra subscriptions to the sports channels from wrestling fans. Sky sports is an extra £19 a month over the Sky "entertainment" channels.

This could be a test of integrity to see if these deaths get incorporated into a storyline. On past performance it wouldn't surprise me.

The deaths obviously haven't been incorporated into the storyline. All storylines have been suspended and any reference to Benoit banned. Could you imagine Coronation street scrubbing 3 months of storylines to show highlights instead if it was one of their stars that snapped.

OIT Benoit was the adult fans favourite, the online wrestling communities favourite and very much an equal to the regard and affection affection the fans held for him as Paul McGrath. You clearly don't know waht you're talking about on this subject.

Fans are trying to grieve the loss of an idol whilst atthe same time come to terms with the fact he did something so so monsterous. People taking the piss at the mo are just being dickheads IMO.

I mentioned it only because in the past the WWF has used the deaths of both Brian Pilman and Eddie Guerrero as part of their show.

Thanks, but the dickhead is the one that murdered his family, and what of those that still support him? Get real, it's garbage for kids!

I guess you have no interests that are part escapism and slightly juvenile - i.e. star wars fan or something along those lines...
