If you think it's fake watch the link i posted above.

Can you bet on a wrestling match?

I think that answers if it's fake or not.

...unless it's a figment of my imagination - but it seems SKY pay a lot of money for something that doesn't exist if what you say is true !

SKY would pay over the odds and televise the annual fart lighting finals.

You can't bet on individual matches but bookies will take bets on who is the champion at a certain date, usually the end of the year.

As someone who spent a fair bit of time in the ring, we always used to say "it's not fake, it's fixed"

So you lot can't stand wrestling - why are you forcing your opinions on people who do like it and want to talk about what happened ?!?

I don't think you've quite got to grips with the concept of a discussion board have you?

Yes, i am here to talk about Chris Benoit's death - which is the title/point of it. You are using this thread to patronise people who enjoy this form of entertainment because you think it's fake....

You don't like it, fair enough. Other ppl want to discuss what happened, not your "it's fake" debate...

If you think it's fake watch the link i posted above, it's a highly skilled form of entertainment...

Why on earth would I want to watch a link to something that I don't like?.

It's not a 'debate' about wheter or not is fake, that's beyond question. The debate is why on earth would a grown man want to spend time and money watching it. I really don't get it?

Rumours that he'll be 'fighting' with the Undertaker next week are unconfirmed.

Reports now starting to appear that they're going to examine Benoit for signs of brain damage for injuries etc. Also they've raided the office of his personal doctor.

Still totally gutted about Benoit, the storylines have all been thrown out the window and there's no proper wrestlers to watch now. The sooner Davey Boy Smiths son qualifies from the Hart dungeon the better.

At least HHH and Rey Mysterio will be back soon. ECW is pretty fucked now without a star. I don't think CM Punk is ready to carry the show yet.

They've cancelled the shows in Canada for mid-July to have them in Texas to replace Mondays cancelled show. Looking forward to RAW at the NIA still though.

It's not a sport though is it?

Yes it's highly skilled, yes they are doing stuff that none of us could ever dream of being able to do and yes I suppose it's very entertaining if you are into muscled, sweaty men hugging but it's not a sport.

If Darts or Snooker is a sport, then yes it is !

It's panto.

I was going to say oh no it's not. But it's certainly a case of OH YES IT IS.

Neither are my cup of tea but in both of those sports the outcome isn't decided by whoever wrote the script.

It's your choice not to like it. The point is some people do appreciate the skill it involves.

I am sure some people wonder why you pay good money to watch 22 men kicking a leather ball around a park for 90 minutes. It's your personal choice.

If you don't want a link to something you don't like (...because it proves you wrong), then why do you want to discuss something you don't like ?!?!

The results are fixed.   The blood, the falls, the leaps and the athleticism are all real.  That provides a spectacle and people will want to watch a spectacle.  I've only followed it on and off throughout my life but wouldn't poo poo those who are keen on it.  It has an appeal.  Most of the stuff we watch on telly is scripted but it doesn't mean it isn't entertaining.  Nobody is trying to say wrestling is a true 'sport'.
