Here's my predictions for the season. I haven't been following the pre-season or the comings and going too closely though so probably even wronger than usual... (numbers in brackets indicate estimated post-season ranking)

AFC

North - Steelers (2)
South - Colts (3)
West  - Chargers (4)
Wildcards - Titans (5), Texans (6)

Wildcard Games:- Colts beat Texans, Titans beat Chargers
Divisional Games:- Patriots beat Titans, Colts beat Steelers
Conference Game:- Patriots beat Colts

NFC
East - Giants (1)
North - Da Bears, obviously (2)
South - Saints (4)
West - 49ers (3)
Wilcards - Redskins (5), Cowboys (6)

Wildcard Games:- Cowboys beat 49ers, Redskins beat Saints
Divisional Games:- Giants beat Cowboys, Bears beat Redskins
Comference Game:- Giants beat Bears :-(

Superbowl:- Patriots beat Giants

Biggest Surprise Teams:- 49ers, Saints
Biggest Disappointments:- Vikings, Eagles, Cardinals

stupid game anyway

I watched the first half - in bed by 3.15am and recorded the rest. Then I saw that the Steelers had won on the BBC Sport page. Thought I'd be safe there!

Five Live even gave out the result on their 6:30 sports bulletin (however, it was Villa fan Vasos, so I'll give him a pass)

For no other reason than they have 'England' in their title are the New England Patriots still good? Are they expected to win it this year?

Back in the C4 80s days I did follow this and the Birmingham whatever they were called team.

Look out for their scores still. But I do that as much as I try and have a team in most sports to get some interest.

In baseball I always look out for the scores of Kansas City (Royals?) Do the Chiefs still have a team at Kansas?

The Patriots have been the most dominant team over the last 10 years. Their Quarter-Back, who is arguably the mest in the NFL got injured in the 1st quarter of the 1st game last year and they still had an 11-5 record. They were very unlucky to miss out on the play-offs, the first team to miss out with 11 wins for 20 years.

The Kansas City Chiefs are still going, but are not very good. I'm pretty sure they're in the state of Missouri not Kansas, just to be confusing.

I have the Eagles, my team, to be NFC champs at 5-1 (used to live in Philly in the 70s)

The defence still played well, even after Troy went off.

I think outside of Baltimore, that will probably the toughest game this season.

Why don't they just forget the match and toss a coin to decide who wins? Overtime is fucking stupid. If they MUST have it at least have 5 minutes each way.

I actually like it, you are far from guaranteed to score, just because you have posession.

College do it differently with a possesion each until someone wins.

Maybe you're not guaranteed to score but even if you don't you can pin the opposition back in their own territory.

According to this... http://forum.officiating.com/football/54582-overtime-rules.html ... 73% of overtime games are won by the team that wins the toss.

I think 5 minutes each way would be far fairer. If still level, I would go with a two-point conversion shoot-out along the lines of a penalty shoot-out.

Well the Bears have beaten the Pears home and away this season, the Villa have just won at Small Heath, again (yawn!) so now I'm confident of another Bears win, this time in not-very-Green Bay, as I'm on a roll in local derbies.

Come on Cutler and the Monsters of the Midway!

So, "3rd and 1" on the half way line......... guess the Bears were expecting a run !!

Oh the delights of staying up past 5am to watch this and the Packers getting a late winner.

At least the Villa won I guess.

I didn't stay up for the late game but I did watch most of the Vikings against Randy's other team

Here's Adrian Peterson doing his best Jim Brown impression

Fair play to Rogers, thats a massive play right. Eagles looked insane on defense yesterday. I'm still gutted about thursday.
Steelers v EAgles superbowl
