God the Raiders were friggin awful...boo'd by thier fans at half time. I was hoping they may have improved...sadly not.

Did they not spend a shed load in the close season...?

They did spend more than most teams, obviously not in the right places though. The top draft pick was on a running-back when they'd already spent lots of money to keep Fargas.

The defensive liine did nothing, although the Broncos are usually pretty good on offensive line.

McFadden was the best "athlete" available, so that's why Al drafted him.

Also, I've never had much confidence in Huggy Bear Jr

The Houston v Baltimore game is OFF (to be played in Nov), so if any of you are in fantasy leagues, bench your players!

Anyone going to Wembley for the Saints v Chargers (I have tickets in the nosebleed seats)?

Like I'd pick a Houston or Baltimore player!

Mind you, I have picked a Cardinal!

Here's mine for this week, trying to improve on last week's glorious 4,161st place...

E. Manning, James, Graham, Burress, Wayne, Miller, Kasay, Giants Defense.

As you can see, I've gone for the tried and tested method of plicking loads of players who are against the Rams!

Good stuff - I think if the Bears or the Browns come over I'll get a ticket for it.

They're having a laugh with that headline!

How does college football work anyway? Isn't it just decided by who the journalists like the best?

I can just imagine that over here, "In the Final, Tottenham Hotspur will play... Tottenham Hotspur Rserves"

Its now a combination of a Coaches' Poll, Journo's Poll and some computer calcs re "strength of schedule" etc.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bowl_Championship_Series

This decides the top two teams who then play for the title.

However, because the polls are still part of the process, the championship isn't really "decided on the field". The powers that be don't want to change the system because it may lose some schools money

another tight loss for Chicago - mind you we threw it away, 10 point lead with not long to go. Must have been very exciting for any Buccaneer fans. (like us against the Eagles last year).

Off work tomorrow, so I'll be watching the rest of the games in 20 minutes
