No Europe for us.

Comprehensively blown it.

We play Spurs next week, but yeh it’s looking more and more like we’ve blown it

Blown what exactly? Nobody thought we’d be anywhere near where we are now and the fact we’ve just fallen at the final hurdle is not blowing it to me

When you get this close you have to finish the job. We can look back after the season and say 8th or 9th after the way we started is admirable. But there will be a very empty feeling if miss out after getting so close

I'm with this. I'm not really one for gallantry falling short. You take the chances when they're there because you might never get them again. Who knows where Europe ahead of schedule might have gotten us? Or more pertinently, who?

The last few games remind me of O'Neill's famous March collapses. The difference being, that the owner isn't Randy Lerner and his weird purse-string holding family. I think we've improved massively since Emery came in (not over-achieved but improved at a credible rate) and we've now reached the limit. The last thing I'd want to see is us struggling in Eurpe AND struggling in the league next season. I thought finishing in the top ten would be great progress, and I still do.

We’ve come from relegation fodder to where we are now in 6 months. A monumental achievement by anyone’s standards. We don’t have that class yet and have been playing with a very small squad. There’s no way that form could continue forever and with the bench we’ve got. Every team in this league suffers a few bad games and this is what it is.
You are that mate who gives you a hug. Very sensible post.

Normally I’m the one who’s angry and who just doesn’t speak after a defeat but there’s no way I can lay into this team. There was a ceiling for some of them and they’ve hit it but we just don’t have the squad to replace them. They’ve grafted, improved and have given their all and we’ve got a top, top coach in charge. Europe was a dream and if I’m honest I never thought we had enough with the tough run in we’ve got.
Next season is another matter and this is when we’ll really push on.

Big Jon on. Buendia fucked off he’s coming off

To run around a bit and get booked.
Let's get behind him eh?

Don’t be stupid AlexAlex

Yeah I'm sure hell be devastated when he logs on later.

Can’t quite work out who’s taking the piss out of who here 🤔

I'm not taking the piss out of anyone, he's got energy but very raw and looks a bit hot headed.

That fact I've written that on a forum shouldn't really affect his performance either way.
You were hardly getting behind him were you
Would it have made a difference? I'm writing words on the Internet, I'm not in the crowd shouting abuse at him.
No it makes no difference.Just disappointing. I've stood/sat next to too many Villa fans with your outlook though.

What outlook's that then?
