Small point of contention, Maths has played it's part in sport for a long time and been a bit of niche that the geeks enjoy. This isn't that, it's finance taking over. The commercial side of a club should exist to support the sporting side but we're in very real danger of that balance being flipped (and at some clubs it's already happened).

As it has in almost all other walks of life.

Architects, car design, clothing design, house building, - flair now governed by accountants
