2004 was similar. Lost a semi final to Bolton. Would’ve had Middlesbrough in the final.

In fairness, Bolton had some real jam. Scored with virtually every attack in their home leg and clung on desperately in the 2nd leg. Kevin Davies kept backing into our defenders and falling over and the referee kept falling for it.

it's embarrassing that the club are attempting to hold it back.

the club are answerable to several public bodies on attendances, all of which are subject to the freedom of information act, so it will come out at some point.

We've got nothing to be guilty of.

That first leg was a fucking disaster. Complete aerial bombardment that we couldn't cope with. Got back into it (with a blatantly offside goal pre VAR) then Okocha scores two screamers and we were done for. Gavin McCann getting sent off in the second leg didn't help either.

If I remember correctly it was Nicky Cun Hunt that was chief fall to the floor merchant.

Think Jlloyd scored late in the 2nd Leg, to make it 5-4 on aggregate.

I thought it was Crouch for some reason but just checked and you are right, it was Jlloyd. Apparently Ngotty scored their fourth in the first leg too, not Okocha.

Not sure about Nicky Hunt's involvement but sounds plausible
