Never in doubt.
-
Red Bull only gives you Wiiiiings for 60 mins then you crash.
Second which was what I was expecting at the end of the night.
-
Far more entertainment than I had anticipated
-
Jimoh Jimoh!
-
Well, well, well. Great to see da yoof shining. Aloba looked a cut above in his cameo. UTV
-
They can kick lumps out of us on the park, tie our hands behind our back financially, but we never surrender.
-
Class showed in the end, they looked flat on their arses after an hour.
Great to see the kids do so well.
That is the sign of a good side, play badly, win. Get in trouble, win. Find a way to win, no matter how.
-
Fine comeback
Great to see youth contributing
-
Fortress Villa Park again.
-
I know fuck all. It’s grand that Unai Emery knows lots.
Great to see the kids do so well second half. Amazing 3rd goal.
-
Wonderful to see Young to Jimoh-Aloba! Get in.
Of all the babbies, Jimoh-Aloba looks like he belongs. A real talent. He reminds me a little of Eze. Hope so anyway.
-
One of Belgrade/Celta/PAOK/Lille in the next round.
Someone wanted a team from Iberian peninsula so they might get Celta. Am I right in thinking POAK would be a new opponent for us?
-
Well, at least we made it interesting.
-
Proud of that.Got quite emotional when Young passed it for Jimoh to score.
Well done Prince Will.Couldn't have been easy getting the night off on a Thursday.
-
We don't do anything the easy way.
-
Liquid football at times. That was great entertainment.
-
Thought Cash was immense in that half. MoM, spraying balls all over the park for fun.
-
"Right lads, the plan tonight is do fuck all for an hour, then play like Brazil 70 for the last half hour"
-
Keeps the winning run going. Fingers crossed for Ollie. Lovely way to finish with the kids combining for the winner. Felt sorry for Hemmings, we were a mess in the first half and for a bit afterwards. Mings and Onana were diabolical.
-
There a times when some clubs change their DNA from also rans to something special.
Hopefully we have made the transition, there just seems to be something really special about this squad regardless of the set backs and bad luck.
-

Me! It’s about time we had one.
-
How could I ever have doubted it.
Brilliant last 20 mins
No need to buy anyone give the youngsters a chance
Villa till I die
Seeing I am a bit pissed it could be during the night
-
Matty Cash fast becoming our POTS!
-
PAOK, Lille, Celta Vigo or Red Star next. I think.
-
Celta have knocked us out of Europe both times we've played them. They battered us at VP in that 1-3, which I think was bugler boy on the tannoy that night.
-
I don’t want Lille in the next round!
-
Matty Cash fast becoming our POTS!
He was the difference when he came on. Superb
-
Fair play to Elliott doing a full 90, he must have been fucked at the end.
-
I don’t want Lille in the next round!
Not a bad away trip!
-
Been there, done that with Lille and Celta, so one of PAOK or Red Star please.
-

Was that the Benny Mccarthy hat trick game?
-
From the ridiculous to the sublime...
Very pleased for JJA. Cash MOTM.
Hopefully Ollie is ok.
-
Surely we have to give Elliot a chance..
-
Unai got the subs spot on. Lindelof made a difference when he went into midfield, what a signing he's turning out to be! Game a bit too quick for Hemmings but a good learning point for him. Three cracking goals for Villa and some lovely football played at times. Several put to shame by the kids but I guess we knew we were through and were saving themselves. A few nice bits and pieces for Elliot but a bit rusty too. Bailey, Abraham and Luiz all to come into the squad.
-
Jamaldeen to get the winner at the Holte End, it doesn't get better than that, great stuff young man.
-
Jamaldeen to get the winner at the Holte End, it doesn't get better than that, great stuff young man.
He was very lively when he came on. Strong too and composed for the winner. Good cut back from Young too.

Nope. Mostovoi was a different class that night.
-
Surely we have to give Elliot a chance..
I doubt we can as I think we have used up the money allocated for him. Of course Liverpool could change the terms of the loan agreement but I doubt it.
-

Assisted by Young the younger as well. Beautiful.
A routine match turned into a wonderful story.
-

Ohh ohh ohh, the guns of Aston...
-
Fair play to Elliot, he performed well in the second half

Yes, great composure. Must have been tempting to smash it as hard as he could.
-
Superb second half. Bogarde going into midfield changed everything, I thought he was excellent.
JJ took his goal well and could have scored 3. It's a good sign he knows to get into good positions and keep his composure.
-
Well done Prince Will.Couldn't have been easy getting the night off on a Thursday.
Fortunately, it didn't clash the King Charles film premiere.
-
I think the bugle game was against Deportivo La Coruna
-
I don’t want Lille in the next round!
Not a bad away trip!
How will it work? Will we just get drawn at random against a play off winner. Is it still country-separated at that stage or is possible that we could end up playing a team from a town signposted on Mere Green Island?
-
Not able to get down to the game tonight, working away and pissed off.
But that 2nd half was smashing and I loved the joy on the face of Jimoh-Aloba.
-
Fair play to Elliot, he performed well in the second half
He kept at it and his movement is very good. Was always going to be rusty. Very light on the ball compared to likes of Rogers and McGinn.
-
I think the bugle game was against Deportivo La Coruna
I thought Deportivo was the back of the Holte closed and Celta was the bugler. I was at both but it is around 30 years ago, which is scary.
-
Superb second half. Bogarde going into midfield changed everything, I thought he was excellent.
He was.
Plenty of energy, decent reading of the game and can play the simple pass well.
-
The treble is on..
-
TNT Sports waffling on about celtic on four channels. They finished 21st.
-

I believe a draw on who plays each other in the playoffs with 9th/10th drawn against 23rd/24th. The ones we will be playing will be from then 15/16th v 17th/18th teams. Another draw will then be made to put the top 8 into each side of the bracket with 1/2, 3/4,5/6 and 7/8 being kept apart. Finally they will be put into a side as well. Draws not neccesarily in that order.
-
Wow what a turnaround. Ive lost my voice. A poor opening 50 mins but man the youngsters did us proud tonight.
Elliot also showed he is a baller and can offer something. We really do need to try resolve this situation. Maybe make it 15 games or something like that so we can use him or remove the clause
What a game changing ut is to have second legs at villa park. Delighted
-
Lindelof great again, Matty man of the match.
Congrats Jamaldeen, you belong.
Well done lads.
-
Superb second half. Bogarde going into midfield changed everything, I thought he was excellent.
He was.
Plenty of energy, decent reading of the game and can play the simple pass well.
He was uncertain at right back - unusual position for him, new angles, new passes - but very strong in the middle for the last 20 minutes - powerful physically and on his passing. I didn’t think the Glassman was poor, unlike Bronte above, but every time he got involved I found myself wishing he rather didn’t, for fear of injury.
Well done JJA, your dream is all of our dreams.
-

I thought Deportivo was the back of the Holte closed and Celta was the bugler. I was at both but it is around 30 years ago, which is scary.
The match before that we had a promising 18yo come on and score to get us a win from a losing position.
-

Hope there’s another video of his family watching.
-
Not good memories of Celta, including the referee blowing up a week early at the Hawthorns.
But seriously I fancy us against anybody, if our players could just stop breaking bones.
-
TNT Sports waffling on about celtic on four channels. They finished 21st.
It is a big story, though, small club from an insignificant league overperforming.

Showing my ignorance here, but who was it?

Or the Malania premiere..
-
Vassell v Stromgodset
-
Darius Vasselius. His home debut and he had been on the pitch for 10 mins and scored twice in stoppage time to give is a 3-2 win in the home leg.
-
Vassell v Stromgodset
That was a great night. Well, the end anyway.
-

2-0 down at home and winning 3-2. We'll never see the like again Europe.
-
Southgate scored as well, I think? Collymore hattrick at home?
-
Southgate scored as well, I think? Collymore hattrick at home?
Charles. And it was a 3-0 away win with Collymore getting all 3 in the 2nd leg.
-
Southgate scored as well, I think? Collymore hattrick at home?
Charles on 82 mins.
-
PAOK losing in Lyon meant we missed the title on goal difference. Greek tragedy.
-
Not winning all 8 is pretty disgraceful.
-

Thanks all. Close but no cigar.
-
-
I wasn't expecting the comeback at 2 down with the team we had out, but under Emery I should have. Well done boys.
-
Fucking freezing. Awful 60 mins, then a great finish.
-
“You’ll never beat the Villa”
-
Were rubbish for 60 minutes and went 2-0 down, but then played well and won 3-2. Thought the young lad took his goal really well at the end. Not great, but job done probably sums up the game tonight and the group stage as a whole really.
-
Weirdly that was better than an easy 1.0
Another galvanising win.
-
Bogarde in CM and Cash at RB changed it.
Hope Watkins isn’t too bad, good job we’ve already got Tammy in.
-
Darius Vasselius. His home debut and he had been on the pitch for 10 mins and scored twice in stoppage time to give is a 3-2 win in the home leg.
A game I’ll never forget being sat in the Holte End
-
Bogarde is never going to be a top flight right back however he could become a very good CM.
-
I was also in lower Holte for that one. I used to sit next to the most moaning moaner who ever moaned. He even was having ago at Vassell, a player who had played all of 4 minutes in the first team prior to that match, calling him useless because he didn't score on his first foray into the box.
-
Terrible first half but that was to be expected with so many changes and the injuries.
Let’s hope the atmosphere is better on Sunday because that tonight was embarrassing.

Probably me.
-
Mings and JJA.
-
Darius Vasselius.
Is that Vassell’s Greek cousin?
-
Tyrone is such an eloquent speaker, I love listening to his thoughts and insights.
It was noticeable how Rogers went and celebrated Mings’ goal with him as the restart was being lined up after the goal. Almost a private celebration.
There must be real rapport between those two,
-
The passage of play, beginning I think with Cash in defence where played about 10 very quick, first time passes and culminating with JJ's effort being tipped over the bar was , from back to front
Was akin to 70's Brazil
-
First game I've been to this season. Brilliant last half hour and lovely to see the youngsters have pivotal roles.
-
Haha, pipe, slippers, 3 points, top 2. Just hope Ollie isn't badly injured.
-
My take on tonight. Hemmings isn’t ready yet: Bogarde isn’t a full back but has the makings of a decent midfielder: we have some potential in the youth in JJA and Kaden Young: as sloppy as we can make ourselves we can up the anti to achieve the required result when needed: Absolute balls up for their first goal.
