Class showed in the end, they looked flat on their arses after an hour.

Great to see the kids do so well.

That is the sign of a good side, play badly, win. Get in trouble, win. Find a way to win, no matter how.

One of Belgrade/Celta/PAOK/Lille in the next round.

Someone wanted a team from Iberian peninsula so they might get Celta. Am I right in thinking POAK would be a new opponent for us?

Unai got the subs spot on.  Lindelof made a difference when he went into midfield, what a signing he's turning out to be!  Game a bit too quick for Hemmings but a good learning point for him.  Three cracking goals for Villa and some lovely football played at times.  Several put to shame by the kids but I guess we knew we were through and were saving themselves.  A few nice bits and pieces for Elliot but a bit rusty too.  Bailey, Abraham and Luiz all to come into the squad.

I believe a draw on who plays each other in the playoffs with 9th/10th drawn against 23rd/24th. The ones we will be playing will be from then 15/16th v 17th/18th teams. Another draw will then be made to put the top 8 into each side of the bracket with 1/2, 3/4,5/6 and 7/8 being kept apart. Finally they will be put into a side as well. Draws not neccesarily in that order.

Wow what a turnaround. Ive lost my voice. A poor opening 50 mins but man the youngsters  did us proud tonight.

Elliot also showed he is a baller and can offer something.  We really do need to try resolve this situation.  Maybe make it 15 games or something like that so we can use him or remove the clause

What a game  changing ut is to have second legs at villa park. Delighted

He was.

Plenty of energy, decent reading of the game and can play the simple pass well.
He was uncertain at right back - unusual position for him, new angles, new passes - but very strong in the middle for the last 20 minutes - powerful physically and on his passing. I didn’t think the Glassman was poor, unlike Bronte above, but every time he got involved I found myself wishing he rather didn’t, for fear of injury.

Well done JJA, your dream is all of our dreams.

Tyrone is such an eloquent speaker, I love listening to his thoughts and insights.

It was noticeable how Rogers went and celebrated Mings’ goal with him as the restart was being lined up after the goal. Almost a private celebration.
There must be real rapport between those two,

The passage of play, beginning I think with Cash in defence where played about 10 very quick, first time passes and culminating with JJ's effort being tipped over the bar was , from back to front

Was akin to 70's Brazil

My take on tonight. Hemmings isn’t ready yet: Bogarde isn’t a full back but has the makings of a decent midfielder: we have some potential in the youth in JJA and Kaden Young: as sloppy as we can make ourselves we can up the anti to achieve the required result when needed: Absolute balls up for their first goal.
