Happy with that line up.

Elliott on the bench. Well I never, needs must I guess.

And the return of Leon. Let's hope it's the first season version.

Happy with that squad. I dread this game, Barnes always scores against us - but Bruno out for them is big, hopefully it costs them.

Bailey & Elliot on bench already makes us look stronger.

Not confident. Barnes always scores against us and Wissa, being a Brentford twat, will obviously raise his game. Don't see where at least three goals are coming from as we have stupidly chosen to sell a centre forward before buying one.

Id never believe Id ever see Bailey and Elliot on a villa bench a mth ago.  Martinez is lucky as Bizot was very good and Martinez has fumbled the odd goal.

Good to see onana start and lets hope everything comes off for Buendia .

Big game for Ollie .

no Garcia and Alysson must be injured .

One of the big keys to this game is getting out of it without any of midfielders getting hurt by the disgusting dangerous tackling of Joelinton

Yep but we would have beaten that Everton side 9 times out of 10.

I’m surprised this Newcastle side doesn’t look v intimidating.

I suppose they have had two extra days rest than us but we have fresh centre halves and a renewed bench!

Best thing for Watkins to do is shoot early then he won't have to think.
We pretty much controlled the half they had a couple of sniffs but standard for Martinez
Buendia has been amazing covered every blade and scored a worldie.

Very good half. We have played well. Having said that it is all about the save in the first minute. That goes in and it is a completely different game. Onana has been immense. Newcastle are disapponting. The front three have been really poor. I like Miley though he is a very good player.

Watkins… it’s a real shame because he’s done gratings for Villa.  But he is totally shot.

Great performances elsewhere though.  What are the locals boing by the way?  That they’ve got every fucking half decision?  ******.  I really do fucking hate this team.

He’s not shot - lots of his play is enabling us to have so much space and get up the pitch. His final ball needs to be much better though.

We need to be calm and patient at the start of the 2nd half, as they'll come out fired up. If we can play around them and/or draw fouls we can pick up goals towards the end.

Of course, we also can royally f*ck it up.

Amen.  Took them 30 seconds to watch someone put a blanket over his kids.  If he was a good dad, he would already have brought the blanket with him.  Such poor parenting.

Played well after an odd first 30 seconds. Newcastle aren't half the team without Guimares and we have been pretty dominant.

Watkins is working hard and his movement is good but he is butchering so many promising moments. Hopefully Abraham coming in will give him a kick up the backside

Ollie's movement and determination is top drawer. He just has a brain fart whenever he has time to think.
Nailed it.

Cascarino said in his autobiography that he dreaded being through with just the keeper to beat, as the fear would take over. Very unusual for a striker to be like that, but I reckon our Ols has a touch of the same.

That's a really good book, particularly as it's Tony Cascarino's autobiography.

Smirker is gutted clearly.

I'm happy. Doesn't change the fact he's been shit.

Do I have to lie to be happy?

OK then.

World class performance today. Ollie  8)

Three games in a week Newcastle! We also had three, a day less to recover and were away in Turkey while they were at home. Sob on the Tyne.

He owes us that after his performance today.

Give it a rest ffs.

If you think he had anything other than a diabolical game up until that header you are deluded.

Everyone was saying it.

You all know it.

Yeah, we get it. He just scored a goal away at Newcastle to seal 3 points. Celebrate it. If not, what’s the point..?

But he's scored and for months you argued that it was all that mattered, so take the loss and give it a fucking rest you bore.

Goodman talks shit.
Newcastle have played 3 games in a week. So have we

You don't need to add anything more after the first three words.

It's a large field, and I've not listened to him today, but he's easily one of the worst commentators for me.

Think Watkins knew how bad a pass it was, he’ll want to make amends second half.
I think he’s gonna get on the scoresheet today. He’s been okay so far.
I had a feeling he’d score today.

Ran his bag off, his touch is way off, deserved his goal for his workrate alone.

Not confident. Barnes always scores against us and Wissa, being a Brentford twat, will obviously raise his game. Don't see where at least three goals are coming from as we have stupidly chosen to sell a centre forward before buying one.
And now?
