Never in doubt.
Up to 3rd. 8 wins out of 9 in the league.
-
Nuts

Never in doubt
-
EASY WORK.
-
Happy birthday me. Thank you Villa
-
Ace.
-
Fantastic win...brilliant 2nd half performance.
-
Was saving the stat so I didn't tempt fate.
This would be just the third time that Aston Villa have come from 2-0 down away from home to win in the Premier League, and the first time since April 2005 vs Southampton.
-
That’s a terrific result. Welcome back Ollie.
-
Fucking mad. Fucking ace. You fucking beauties.
-
That feels like a big one.
-
Well deserved, we created the better chances and they had a couple of big slices of luck.
Onana was excellent in the 2nd half.
-
Glad Ollie had a good game.
A magnificent effort to come back from two down.
Well done everyone.
Villa 8)
-
Happy birthday me. Thank you Villa
My birthday, too!
-
Brighton have only lost 3 home games in 2025. Two have been against us.
-
Happy birthday me. Thank you Villa
Many happy returns to you. Same date as Ozzy Osbourne (RIP)!
-
Holy fucking shit . What a game.
-
Marco Bizot.
-
Champion performance
-
Happy birthday me. Thank you Villa
My birthday, too!
Many happy returns to both of you
-
Happy birthday me. Thank you Villa
Happy birthday TV. We won on my birthday this year as well.
-
Great fightback.
I have to admit that I muted the commentary when we went 2-0 down. Me of little faith.
Never seen Unai so animated.
-
So glad for the Villans at the ground.Must have been limb city
-
xG 2.76 WTF?
-
Happy birthday everyone!
-
What a fantastic win! And so happy for Ollie to get back amongst it.
-
I've had a shit day and was already in a bad mood, so I turned it off at 2-0 and just checked the match thread occasionally.
I deliberately didn't put it back on or comment as I didn't want to jinx anything.
You're welcome!
Anyway, up the flippin' Villa!!!
-
Excellent, after an exceptionally ropey start got control towards the end of the 1st half and then pretty much controlled it 2nd half. We are to Brighton what Palace are to us, fucking kryptonite. Special mention to Ollie, he was immense tonight.
Bring on the Arsenal.
-
I'm off my tits on AVFC
-
There was a time I always thought we could claw back a deficit - then the dark days came - but now I just relax into it and let SUE and the team sort it out.
-
What a fuckin’ win!!
-
My son said "Never in his lifetime has a team been capable of that away from home"
He's 25!
Incredible team spirit and performance
-
They apparently booed Konsa forgetting straight back up after feigning injury. Not quite the.game I saw.
V v v good 2nd half. We are a better side than last season and Arsenal now is a free hit but they won't fancy coming to Villa Park.
-
I woke up at 5am to prepare for 5.30 kick off. Almost went back to bed 20 mins in….yes superb. Their 3rd was a bit of cockroach but great win.
Now getting ready to travel to The Gabba with a spring in my step
-
Cracking win, hopefully we used all our bad luck up in that first half hour.
Love the Manager's passion which was as much a part of the win as anything that happened on the pitch.
-
A worldie from Bizot at the end?
And in homage the world's greatest shithouser, he even managed a yellow in the 95th minute
-
Nice to see a couple of scrappy tap ins.
-
I'm off my tits on AVFC
I don't care about your tits
They don't care about me
All I care about is A V F C
-
Four goals from inside the box. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it, motherfuckers.
-
Happy birthday me. Thank you Villa
Happy birthday TV and UTV
-
Crazy game. Delighted for Ollie Watkins. Credit again to Emery. Backed Ollie publicly, started Maatsen, rotated the team too. Cash's set pieces caused them huge problems!
-
Nice to see a couple of scrappy tap ins.
We score how we want!
-
Happy birthday me. Thank you Villa
My birthday, too!
Many happy returns sir
-
Happy birthday me. Thank you Villa
Happy birthday TV and UTV
Cheers Ian
-
Lovely stuff
-
So pleased for Ollie! Hopefully he'll keep scoring now.
My Brighton 3 nephews won't be wishing me a Merry Christmas now, though!
-
Proper gunfight-at-the-ok-corral game.
Chaotic performance on the surface, but we had much more in our locker.
Well done Ollie, mate. God that must have felt good.
Guessand actually deciding to play second half.
Bizot doing a Greek tragedy in reverse.
Such a shame Brentford couldn't muster an equaliser.
-
What a very strange and wonderful season this.
-
Happy birthday me. Thank you Villa
My birthday, too!
And a happy birthday to you too Top Deck!
Two special gifts on here!
-
brilliant character and result. Pleased for ollie - his second was excellent. Great save by Bizot at the end.

Third. In.The. Table.
Wonder if we'll get a mention on msm.
-
V v v good 2nd half. We are a better side than last season and Arsenal now is a free hit but they won't fancy coming to Villa Park.
Mosquera went off injured tonight as well, Saliba's missed the last two and Gabriel is definitely out.
Not a bad time for Ollie to rediscover a bit of form.
-
Not an easy place to go to these days. Fantastic win, showed some great resilience. Up to 3rd. Really loving what Unai Emery is doing for Aston Villa.
-
This team eh?!
-

Rice went off too, might be precautionary but had a calf issue.

Root ton to complete your day (fingers crossed emoji).
-
Happy Birthday TV, and make sure you have an enjoyable next few days Olaf.
-
Well that's me not being able to get to sleep anytime soon. What a win.
Over the moon for Ollie, hopefully he can back on track, he usually loves it against Arsenal doesn't he?
-
Just about calmed down. Great win. Did well to see it out.
-
pretty much dominated the 2nd half apart from the later stages
-

V v v good 2nd half. We are a better side than last season and Arsenal now is a free hit but they won't fancy coming to Villa Park.
It's not a free hit. We play the same amount of games vs everyone else and we're at home, where we very rarely lose. And we want to achieve something.
I hope the players don't see it as a free hit.
-

I thought Guessand did well in the second half. Instrumental in the winning goal.
-
Amazing win. Sometimes games just don’t go
your way and although we were poor at the start of the game everything just fell for them.
It’s just part of football that those games get away from you. Especially against a good and hard working team like Brighton away.
Incredible to drag that back. To do it while rehabilitating Ollie is perfect.
Other results going our way currently too! Dreamland!

Bloody hell. I find myself agreeing with Smirker over something. 😉
-
I might watch MOTD tonight.
-
I turned off at 0-2, saying to wifey “I’m not watching this fucking shit”. Lasted about a minute. I was as pissed off with the ref as I was with the Villa.
Turned off again at 4-3 and checked the result on BBC Sport. I just couldn’t take it any more.
What a fucking team.

Can't shirk The Smirk pal 8)

I'm off my tits on AVFC
Same, this just about sums it up!
-
My favourite win of the season that.
-
No complaints from me about tonight.
We know what to expect from Unai and Villa's game plan.
Keep it quiet and tight in the first 45.
See what they're up to. Review and make changes at HT or from 55-60 mins on.
Run out winners.
3rd in the table having played 9 matches. (I'm not counting the first 5 - we didn't turn up).
3 points
Watkins finds his shooting boots
4 goals from inside the box.
-
Massive result! Well done!
-
This squad and especially this Manager needs a bloody trophy.
The man is a genius.
Just when you think the old Villa are back, the new Villa says "hold my pint this ain't over "
We are in a title race although will not be surprised if the likes of the Guardian only show the top 2 tomorrow
-
Bizot did a good Martinez impression today.
What a result.
-
What a turnaround, hopefully this is the beginning of a Watkins scoring run.
-

To be fair he was a lot better in second half. Close to scoring first and fourth goals. But when he gets the ball with his back to goal near the sideline, he really struggles. That's a problem with Cash far from comfortable on the ball at times too.

Agreed.Some delightful touches from Guessand.
Imagine if Guessand and Watkins both found a bit of form and had a decent December.
That would be lovely timing.

Cash was excellent.Again.
-
I was watching on my phone and had trouble seeing the run up to the fourth goal. It looked like our player flicked on to Ollie who was in an offside position when he nodded it toward the goal which led to Malen's finish, but was it a Brighton player who got the touch to him?
-
Two Brighton players, take your pick.

I thought we were done at 2-0. Fantastic comeback, absolutely delighted. What a save from Biscuit at the end.
-
Good result. Brighton unbeaten at home before tonight.
Wish we could win these games on the road without gifting the opponents the lead though.
Six straight wins now?
-
6 points against our next 2 opponents, both London teams and, maybe, just maybe we can start to dream!!
-
The last two away teams to win at Brighton were Aston Villa and Aston Villa.
-
We won the midweek stramash, scored a bunch of different goals, got our star striker over his hump and were Villa as fuck about it all into the bargain.
-
great three points, eight wins out out the last ninel eague matches?
-
Really good result against a quality team that is rareley beaten at home.
Was uncomfortable watching at times. but we found a way.
This is a a very resilient team, and it will undoubtedly win a trophy next couple of years.
-
Great win, had to dig in a bit the last 10, but we did and we’re on the march, sets it all up nicely for Saturday. Get in the lads
-
Fantastic comeback Villa, great to see Ollie scoring again, well done Onana and The Don. Bring on the Arsenal no problem.

Cash is our Player of the Season so far.
May have been Fulham and City games - 90+4 not giving anyone an inch.
So pleased for him - always been a good player, looks like a brilliant one now.
-
Good result. Brighton unbeaten at home before tonight.
Wish we could win these games on the road without gifting the opponents the lead though.
Six straight wins now?
Unbeaten since we beat them in April. They are a good team. We are currently at least better
-
Hard one to give ratings, we mixed the sublime with the ridiculous. Rogers sums it up
Bizot 6 - nowhere for first but did well at end. Decent distribution. Should be playing him more in EL to keep him sharp.
Cash 7 - solid again defensively and set pieces caused huge problems including for Onana's goal
Konsa 7 - solid display again, unlucky not to score
Torres 6 - started playing after the own goal, very ropey start
Maatsen 7 - similar to Torres maybe, excellent assist and unlucky not to get a penalty. Took ball into contact too often
Kamara 6 - mixed enough display. We got the run around in midfield in the first half
Onana 6 - pretty much hid in the first half but a huge weapon for set pieces in the second
Guessand 6 - much improved after half time, nearly there for a few goals. Getting in right positions anyway
Rogers 7 - seemed to be trying to break a record for losing the ball in the first half. Then launches an inch perfect assist from deep in our half. Simple pass to put Malen through and overhits it. A freak.
McGinn 7 - struggled to get into the game early on, not his best position for me but much more in it after half time
Watkins 9 - a night of redemption. Destroyed them. After a poor miss early on too.
Digne and Bogarde were very good off the bench I thought. Malen scored with his first touch. Tielemans was ok. Buendia only on late.
Emery 9 - an outstanding night. Faith in the squad vindicated and particularly in his main man Ollie Watkins.
-
We can go up a gear or two when we have to. Brilliant win.
Onwards and upwards.
-

Thanks for trying though bro.

Was saving the stat so I didn't tempt fate.
This would be just the third time that Aston Villa have come from 2-0 down away from home to win in the Premier League, and the first time since April 2005 vs Southampton.
Also Spurs in 2000 - was there for that one
