Saturday is nigh and it's a 5:30pm (BST) kick-off; we are probably doomed. Or at least Gerrard is. Hopefully.
Errrrrrrrrrrm! We are going to get battered by the boring bastards, aren't we?
-
Can you vote for a Man City win twice?
-
Maybe the poll needs to reflect the reality
Lose by 1 to 3 goals
Lose by 4 to 6 goals
Lose by 7 to 10 goals
Referee stops the match at 10 to stop any further suffering
Man Citeh declare at half time.
-
Haaland should wrap up the seasons golden boot on Saturday. A dreadful first half and City will go easy on us second half, at least 0-4.
If Gerrard still in charge by Monday pm then the owners have given up and 2016 part 2 beckons.
-
9 in his first 5. Haaland is a weird, unnatural beast. Has to be one of the ugliest footballers out there. How did he get so big? All very weird.
Anyhow, no doubt hell score 5 by half time.
-
so pleased I am flying home
-
Definitely won't be staying up for this one.
More chance of me leading the line on Saturday evening than Villa getting anything from this.
1-7
-
I’ll be avoiding this like the plague.
0-14
-
i think we should all be given a cushion on the way into the ground to hide behind when City attack
Hopefully for his sake Gerrard will be gone - otherwise it could be a horrible day for him.
Lose 3-1
-
Is there any way to forfeit this game?
-
Is there any way to forfeit this game?
We simply don’t turn up. They kick off. Full time is blown. Used to be a 3-0 defeat.
Probably be better on our goal difference.
-
I’d take that.
-
I’d take that.
Me too
-
It’ll be at least 4-0 to Man City.
-
0-6
-
0-5
-
And we come full circle.
This rise of this shower has really, really screwed us. First the Lerner project, then the likes of Barry, Milner and Delph before finally coming with £100m for the player that should have been the 2020s talisman.
C**ts
-
Will his knibs be playing?
-
Another loss!
-
We're fu#*ed for this one aren't we. I'm going to stay in bed and not watch this.
-
Starting to not care about games against these now. Just get the thing over with.
0-4.
-
2-2 draw. Grealish with all four goals
-
I think this will be as bad as Drinky's debut. Five or six nil probably.
-
0-5.
-
Can we play all our subs along with the starting 11 ?
-
Can we play all our subs along with the starting 11 ?
We'll still get overrun in midfield with a starting 11 and all the subs on.
-
Last chance to see the statue that is Steven Gerrard stood lifeless on the touchline at Villa Park in his smart suit, shiny shoes & doodling pad.
-
Probably not as bad as we fear. The players do still seem to raise their game against the top teams if not to extent of winning matches.
0-2 with an early and late goal and not much threat from us in between.
-
Annihilation. 0-5 them
-
I can see 9 players camped on the edge of our 18 yard area with the odd occasional Mings launch for Watkins to chase. This aint gonna be pretty.
-
Is there any way to forfeit this game?
Yes just ask our Steven to pick the team and tactics.
-
Man City to rest players. Nil-Seven.
-
I'm debating whether to just sack this off and go to the pub. Had enough weekends ruined already.
-
I think he'll change his lineup yet again.
Martinez
Chambers Konsa Mings Digne
Kamara
Luiz. McGinn
Bailey Ings. Coutinho
Yes, Cash is out because he'll want to prove another defensive point.
I'm not looking forward to taking my lad, he doesn't like the negativity...

Cash was bad, but Digne was even worse! Questioning whether he was an upgrade on Targett at all?!
-
1-5
-
We need to try and keep the momentum up from the second half last night. Might not be enough but at least we will have had a go. The major issue now is the front line, if we are playing Bailey then surely we need a target man, e.g. Ings or Archer. Watkins is not the answer. If we play narrow then any combination of Watkins, Ings or Archer will have to be considered.

Based on his career to date then absolutely, both full backs are being hung out to dry in this rancid formation though.

Hopefully this farce ends here and Haaland administers the Coup-De-Grace to this joke of a manager and he packs up and takes his Liverpool fuck wits with him. That raggy haired corner wanker can go too. Amateurs all around behind the scenes.
-
God help us, thats it.
-
I'd take a point..
-
I was going to look at this in a calm and sensible way but "raggy haired corner wanker" pretty much sums up how I feel about that clown who I still firmly believe has too much influence behind the scenes for both Managers cullminating in the return of the "Cash long throw" last night. It's about as much as I can muster at this point.
0-5
-
No chance we'll score as we won't win a corner.
0-6
-
They might rest a few, Jack might even get a start!
I think he will bring Young back in, probably at left back though his criticism of Cash post game suggests either full back is at risk of being dropped, maybe both. At least if he gave Archer and Iroegbunam starts it might take a bit of heat off the crowd keen to see the young lads do well. It's going to be some variation of 451/4411 and hoping for a miracle. I think McGinn will be dropped, been hooked a couple of times lately including last night.
--------------Martinez
Young, Konsa, Mings, Augustinson
Bailey, Kamara, Iroegbunam, Coutinho
---------------Ramsey,
----------------Archer

That "raggy-haired corner wanker" has taught Luiz how to score direct from a corner, twice in a week! Which is as many times as we've managed it in our history (Stan Staunton being the only example in living memory).

I wouldn't imagine that's anything to do with our much-loved roadie.
-
We should have scored three corners in the last three games. If we criticise him when the set pieces are shit then it doesn't seem unreasonable to award some praise when we look dangerous from them.

Lmao. You really think he's spent 2 years trying to get Dougie to finally perfect his inswinging corner shot technique? It's nothing to do with the tramp.
-
I refer you to cdbearsfan's answer. Slagging McPhee off in crude fashion doesn't change the fact that we've had impressive results from his "division" in the last couple of games.
-
I hate to say it but I think we are going to get smashed to smithereens on Saturday. I feel a humiliation is coming our way.
-
I think my only Dilemma on this one is do I triple captain Haaland in my fantasy football team?
-
0-5, No hope
-
I see our Magnificent 7 are here again voting that we will win. Still not sure which team they have been watching so far this season. I normally don’t write off any of our fixtures but, the way we have been playing so far this season, I’d be ok if we lose by less than 3. Not really ok but you know what I mean.
-
I'm debating whether to just sack this off and go to the pub. Had enough weekends ruined already.
I understand the sentiment, as how many of us actually look forward to a game like this?
Haaland to break a Premier League record with a hat-trick of consecutive hat-tricks.
:(
-
I always look forward to watching our games and would never deliberately avoid one. Due to circumstances I'll be watching this one at home though, and reserve the right to spend most of the game making snarky remarks on here.
-
Has to be 4-2-3-1...
Martinez, Cash, Chambers, Mings, Digne
Dendonker or Tim in with Kamara.
Bailey, Coutinho either side of Luiz, McGinn, or Buendia.
Watkins up top, though I would love to see Cam start as there is no expectation of a win so pressure will be low on him.
-
Don't worry Clive Mendonca will stop em
-
Chance they'll be some alterations by Man City due to big focus on champions league match away on Tuesday in Spain at Sevilla.
So hoping some complacency as they have conceded 5 goals in last 3 matches and really it's 2 matches as they beat Forest yesterday 6-0.
So giving a good account and Gerrard finds the right balance I'm hopeful of a surprise win.
Coutinho always scores v Man City so he has to start.
And under Gerrard he executed the right game plan when close to winning on final day of the season 2-0 up.
I'll go a hard fought 1-0 win as it's needed.
-
0-9
But, Schteeeeeveeee G doesn't lose his job, unfortunately.
-
My genuine dilemma this weekend is that Preston are playing Blues at home and that would save a lot of travelling and almost certainly be more fun.
-
0-8.
-
0-8.
Blimey that's a big jump from your usual 0-2.
-
I can only dream of 0-2 this weekend.
-
If your dreams only go to 0-2 then they are much better than my nightmares!
-
7-2 to the Villa and Stevie G pronounced a tactical genius for stopping Haaland from scoring. Dougie refuses Arsenal and scores a double hat-trick direct from corners. Our other goal is scored by Stevie himself after he comes on in the 99th minute after he missed a chance by tripping over. Jack scores both Man City goals direct from the stands even though he is is not in the match day squad. Any question?
-
Aston Villa 1 (Luiz, 90+2 direct from a corner)
Man City 6 (Haaland 6,14,27,42) De Bruyne 67 Alvarez 87

0-6
It will turn ugly.
The boos at the WHU will be nothing compared to what we will see this weekend.
I just hope the owners (or their representatives) are there in person to witness the spectacle.
Purslow's pet is clinging on, but he can't stop the clock ticking ......
-
I've put 1-6 on the Villa Match Predictor.
-
1-3
Martinez
Chambers Konsa Mings Augustinsson
Kamara dendoncker
Ramsey buendia Bailey
Watkins
Need defenders to defend…neither full back playing well so sit them both out - good luck stopping Haaland
-
Genuine question, if we are all expecting a defeat on Saturday - which isn’t unexpected by any means - is booing them off justified should it happen? This lot could destroy any team in the world, after all.
And I’m not defending anyone here by the way!

Saturday

1.0 Darren Bent just joking no Joe Hart. I think if we pair coutino and bailey upfront and use our newly fortifyed midfield defensive fullbacks included we could repeat Darren Bents heroics it just needs radical use of our for this one of fixture. Its not certain Harland plays not sure hes up to 3 games in a week.

-
I bet Birmingham greengrocers are hoping his is not sacked before the Citeh game.
-
Just give us a decent performance to hang our hats on.
-
Now that Luiz has stayed he can score his corner. 1 - 5.

I've never booed, not sure if I ever would, but people pay their money, they can do what they like.
1-0 to Villa. That reptilian tosser Haaland to mistake the ball for an egg of his own laying, nestle it inside his own goal in one of the most tender and poignant OGs ever, before blasting off to his home planet, the accompanying flames then igniting the alcohol fumes from Grealish's breath, blowing the whole Man City bench to buggery and causing severe shrapnel injuries to every single of their outfield players.
Five minutes gone, 85 remaining, 1-0 to the Villa, and nobody but a blood-soaked and temporarily-blinded Ederson to withstand the might and prowess of the marauding Villa attackers.
There are several close calls and a tense period of injury time camped inside their own box, but Villa hold on.
FT 1-0.

Frankie Boyle-esque monologue vibes, I like it. Could do with the shrapnel taking out the Villa coaching staff as well, mind.

I cannot foresee a scenario in which they are not sheltered from danger by McGinn's arse.

This chap is coming to Villa Park on Saturday and I am not sure how Konsa and Mings are going to cope with him? He is a total freak, nothing like him has ever appeared on a top level football field before. I can't think of any sportsman with same ferocity as this man. Nearest examples are maybe Jonah Lomu, Mike Tyson and Boris Becker.
In football terms I am trying to but can't compare him with any single forward player in my life time. So I think the only ways is to compare him is with a player made up from multiple forwards. There are many examples I could choose but if I just look at Villa forwards over the past 40 years he, to me represents Andy Gray, Cyril Regis and Dwight Yorke all rolled into one. And even that probably doesn't do him justice.
What do the forum think?
-
I think he can be discussed in the pre-match thread, mate. And, I'm trying not to think about him too much.
-
A young Ronaldo (the real one). Saw him live a few times, nothing made sense, he was on another planet. Wesley still has a lot to learn.
-
After 5 league appearances he's already more than 25% of the way to breaking the PL record for most goals in a season, and that was set in a 42 game season. He's a freak.
-
Vivid imagery, ultraviolet/violent. Excellent work, Rory.
Those alcohol fumes emanating from Grealish, wouldn't happen to be Japanese whiskey from a H&Ver, would they?
-
Couldn’t give a shit about him.

I know who you're referring to, but I'm not sure. Do the Japanese make whiskey with gold flakes in? I imagine that's the kind of thing that settles it for Joe.

He certainly is. His facial features are not those of a human. He has the shiny skin of a cooked lobster, and I suspect he produces an ungodly amount of ear wax.
Heard he's a good footballer as well, but I wouldn't know. I've been sleeping quite well recently, so my GP withdrew my prescription for 10 minutes of Man City before bed.

Couldn’t give a shit about him.
Correct. He plays for Manchester City, which means he is a mercenary with no character whatsoever. He can fuck off and bury his face under six metres of concrete, lest any Birmingham child has the misfortune of seeing it.

What a shame Scottish whisky is the best in the world, then Japanese, then American, then Irish, then Canadian, then the rest.
In any case, come Saturday evening, I don't think quality is going to be the highest consideration. Cask strength will be more of the moment.

If I have to drink whiskey then it's the Irish stuff for me. Doesn't give me heartburn like most Scottish ones.

1-6. Drago hatrick. Gerrard hopefully gone.

Would settle for even a sign of “Coutinhous improvement”, say a decent consolation goal like at Etihad in May.

Japanese all the way here, though almost always mixed with soda water and called a 'Highball'. In fact I'm drinking a can now on the train home after work.
The Japanese copied the Scots and their recipes so it's all good. My nan, a Dumbarton lady wouldn't touch Irish whisky. My mum's mum from Cork, said she wouldn't clean the toilet with Scottish whisky...
Incidentally, are there any English or Welsh distilleries?

Yep, I finished a bottle of Penderyn's Myth not long ago. Very respectable Welsh whisky.

Now we the Donk as an enforcer, maybe he will be given the job of dealing with the Pumpkin Faced Assassin.

the Pumpkin Faced Assassin.
Like.

I bet Roy Keane is absolutely shitting himself every time he lays eyes on him.

Phil Foden to play in a rush goalie role.
30seconds:Haaland scores
2 minutes:Haaland scores
10 minutes:Mings and Konsa introduce themselves to each other having never met before
12 minutes:Haaland scores having been left unmarked due to Mings and Konsa marking Matty Cash at a corner.
Villa set piece coach not happy they shouldn't have been marking anyone from a corner.
20minutes:Ings clean through on goal. Villa fan attended to in the North Stand after being hit with the effort on goal.
30 minutes:Watkins realises he's playing and runs about a bit and challenges the nearest Citeh player after they've already passed the ball on.
35 minutes: Villa midfield realises this isn't just some kick about at Bodymoor and decide to get involved by one of them fouling De Bruyne.
36 minutes:De Bruyne scores from subsequent free kick
41 minutes:Watkins is alone in the Citeh box. Throw in.
46 minutes:Haaland scores and is subbed for Alvarez
47 minutes:Alvarez scores after a mix up with the Villa back four all marking Coutinho
60minutes:Archer comes on for Emi, John McGinn is now in goal
70 minutes: Archer scores.
71 minutes: Archer is subbed and replaced with Gary McAllister
75 minutes:Bednarek is injured warming up and is out for the season.

89 minutes:Ings clears a goal bound shot by Watkins off Citeh's line
90+5 minutes: Alvarez scores

Yes typical Villa, mind you we could probably play with the whole squad on the pitch and still lose.

errr i am his plus one , bought a hat an everything

I hate Man City and the modern football set up in general. By taking Grealish, it's like us lesser clubs are not allowed anything nice. Feudal system. And then they don't even use him in a way that suits or entertains anybody. In the 70s and 80s, maybe 90s, most of the top flight teams, however shit, had one or two players who would excite their fans. Now should we dare to own such a jewel, it is swiftly taken. On Saturday they will outclass us in every department of the field, two or three players deep.
I've probably woken up the wrong side of bed ....
1-0 Villa!
-
I can see us losing this 1-4.
-
I'm going, but with the kind of enthusiasm I'd have for attending a wedding reception for a work colleague of my wife that I've never met.
Aren't those the worst kind! I have been to two like that over the last two weekends and both times asked the question as we got in the car "So who are these people?" back came the glare and facial expression full of disdain.

You don’t even get a decent feed at the Villa , my choice is the wedding

They most certainly are. These days I get let off as long as I do something useful instead, which seems like a fair trade.
-
As Sir Graham had it, win you stay in, lose go on the booze.
So I've decided against driving and will be drinking heavier than someone at a wedding reception who doesn't know any other sod.

There is usually at least one like minded spirit that is prepared to hit the liquid anesthetic.

This is me. As i go with the kids i usually just have one before the game and one at h/t. I may well be dragging them to the pub at lunchtime

So, in our last match against them, we lined up like this
Olsen
Cash Chambers Mings Digne
McGinn Luiz Ramsey
Buendia Coutinho
Watkins
and did ok until the last 10 minutes.
Martinez will be available, we have Kamara now too....

I really do not want to see McGinn in the starting line up.

In these kinds of situations it's great to be a foreigner here. Usually not invited because of the fact I 'wouldn't understand a Japanese wedding' (which is the same as a wedding in England, minus the copious amounts of alcohol, but with the thrilling addition of bingo....)

God only knows mate. They may well do. Your question definitely rings a bell.
My wife is from Hokkaido, so it's not such a traditional part of Japan. That has its benefits to be fair. In laws are far more relaxed about their daughter marrying a non Japanese person, being one of them.
As for bingo, yes, fucking hell.
-
My enthusiasm for this game is minimal as it seems just to be a case of how many Haaland will score and how badly Villa will play?
Definitely a game not to arrive sober at so you can view through glazed eyes and things won't seem so bad.
Go for over 4.5 goals with City scoring them all!

They never had Haaland then and Villa weren't as bad as they are now!
-
The last time I felt this pessimistic going in to a game was against Man City in the league cup final, and we gave them a game. I'm hoping for the same here. I don't think it will be the hammering a lot are predicting.
-
Not overly optimistic, but do have Haaland as my fantasy team captain.
So every cloud....

I was hoping with Dendocker and Kamara we might stifle them a bit but of course being Villa the Donk ha got a sore throat 🙄

My Sky Super 6 prediction is 0-3, always the optimist :)

Probably an unpopular opinion but if defeat is inevitable then a plucky narrow defeat would not particularly help with our ˋGerrard Out´ campaign.
Abject defeat, whilst unpalatable, is probably the best outcome.
-
I'm going to the Taylor Hawkins memorial concert at Wembley tomorrow so won't be going. It doesn't sit right with me missing a match but if I'm going to miss one this season then this is definitely the one to miss.
-
Actually I’m looking forward to it. Totally relaxed with the potential of having historical significance. It’s what supporting Villa is all about.
-

Of course it is but only if you adopt the stance that defeat isn’t inevitable. Can’t quite make that leap personally.
-
Looks like both our late signings could be doubtful for tomorrow’s match. So, what’s new. I think our new badge should include the words..AVFC rest home for the injured.
-
My Man City contacts tell me their players are really psyched up for this and will probably win.

The last thing any Villa fan should want is a heavy defeat. I can't believe you've even suggested it as a good idea.
-
Must admit after Wednesday night I was really considering missing this one. The thought of getting hammered is not very appealing. I was hoping Gerrard would be gone by now but it seems he will get at least another game. Hopefully feel more up for it by the time the game starts. Hate feeling so pissed off with my own football club.
-
The thought of getting hammered is really appealing. Just not on the pitch.
-
Why do the words "cannon fodder" keep coming into my head whenever I think about this game?
-
The thought of getting hammered is really appealing. Just not on the pitch.
4 bottles of assorted ales left over from my fathers day gift box to get me through the game. I might make it to half time if it goes as feared.
-
Oh and 0-4 in a another turgid display of tactical stupidity. Not quite bad enough to push him out of the door, that will have to wait a week and defeat to a managerless Leicester.
-
Gerrard on Manchester City: “The plan will be to make it extremely hard for them and take them where they don’t want to go.
“We know we can hurt this team, so we’re really looking forward to the game.”
A plan! 3-0 down within 10 mins??
In fairness the plan worked pretty well for 75 minutes last time and if a title hadn't been on the line, we'd have probably have won.
They're more than capable of battering anybody, but as a point of personal pride, if I were a player I'd read this thread and probably get myself sent off inside 10 minutes.
-
I want SG gone but I still want is to win. The football club I have loved all my life. I don't want to see us humiliated by an oil barons train set. I want the bastards to show a never say die attitude. Have respect for themselves and our famous club. I can handle going down fighting but not a meek surrender. VTID
-
I expected Arsenal to fill their boots but they didn’t make their chances count. I think we’re all expecting the same end result tomorrow, so I’d be grateful if we can keep the score line at least somewhat respectable.
-
If we’d signed Haaland you just know he’d have broken his leg, if not both legs, during the first twenty minutes of his debut.

That's exactly it. Well said.
-
I suspect tomorrow might be the best we've played all season because we'll pack the midfield. We won't have much of the ball or territory, I doubt we'll take anything, but I just have a feeling in adversity the balance of the midfield will actually be right.
-
I think we've actually got a chance. This game could be the making of the team.
Ha, got you. 0-6.

Sorry folks. Expect double figures. I have a ticket.

I once played in a 9-9 draw. I’d take that tomorrow, although I expect that the first 9 will be a 0

He's got Bailey starting on the left, on the right and on the bench just in case.

Bailey is playing, so long as Gerrard doesn't realise he's a winger

Well he does score nearly every game, after all.

Chris Sutton had us to lose 5-0. Whilst he’s probably right, surely only Villa fans are allowed to predict such a score line.

Thanks Smithy. Found it. How did you know?

1-5. We seem to score against the better sides.

Don't we usually lose 'bravely' either 2-1 or 3-2, having gone 1 or 2 goals up respectively, with maybe one hiding per season.

That's the other Manchester club. The big, successful one, whose fans collect air miles for each home game. These are the nobodies who make serfs of our best players and whose 'achievements' nobody outside of BBC Salford pays any attention to.

can one of our centrebacks let haaland know he has a game on , ala ken mcnaught !!! and not just let the bloke bully us ffs

I want my mummy

From Beeb website:
“The champions have won 28 Premier League games against the Villans - against no side do they have a better record.”
Same with the other Manchester club. It’s infuriating what wet, lily-livered milksops we continually are.

It certainly doesn't look good since 1992, when the present day sh*t version of football started. It certainly seems to suit all broadcasters to deny football existed before 1992 as it doesn't sit well with their target audience of the sl6 clubs and the plastics who follow them.
-
But, as sickening as it is it’s true.
The only way to change to narrative is to beat the fuckers, regularly.
-
I see Grealish is available, I can hear the Holte End singing "I'm Villa till I die".
-
I know it's tough but no way should the Manager get an easy ride post match if we don't give then a game at least, Newcastle did. I'm not expecting miracles at all but we have given it a good go against them recently and this should continue today, there's no greater time given our start to the season.
-
I see Grealish is available, I can hear the Holte End singing "I'm Villa till I die".
Sigh. Can't stand the little scrotum, and him coming on and rolling around being a ****** is the last thing we need.
-

Oh good, no doubt he'll get 5 minutes when they're 5-0 up, and he'll walk round the place at the end like he owns it. It's times like today when I question how much money I spend on the sodding Villa.
-
My Sky Super 6 prediction is 0-3, always the optimist :)
I've gone for 1-5, as City are prone to give away a daft goal from time to time.
My brother had a decent bet on us losing 6-0 at home in our first season back up, he was fucking livid at the late penalty we got.
-
It's football so anything can happen. MDC Jnr is looking forward to seeing Haaland up close as he's convinced he's an alien or been built in a lab. He hasn't asked for a Villa kit this season - this worries me as much as our shi* 2022 so I'm hoping for something to cheer about.
-
I’m not going to watch today. In my opinion, it’s going to be too painful.
Instead, I’m off to a Soft Play with the kids.
-
Painful is the word. It has been painful since the beginning of the season. I might have a rest today and not watch..

I've had a pound on 0-10 at 200/1.
-
Been thinking all week that this could be a very humiliating defeat, however this morning I’m feeling a lot more optimistic for some reason. I’ll be there later cheering them on what ever the result. No doubt it’s going to be a tough game but I think it may be tighter than I’d previously thought.
-
Really heavy traffic as far back as Southampton, just to add my impending doom about today's game.
-
I've changed my vote. I've never yet gone into a game having picked us to lose and I've decided I'm not going to start now. Come on you Villa boys, prove us all wrong, despite everything . I'm backing Mings for the winner from a corner, then I want him to flick Gerrard the V's like Tony Morley did to Sir Ron after he scored at Everton.
-
6-0 Haaland 5 and a Mings own goal.
-
From the Plastic Moon forum ......how's this for irony? Anyone remember how many Plastics were already queuing for the Wembley Park tube immediately the final whistle went in the CocaCola cup? They honestly think we should have stayed to applaud them.....wankers.

Fans are shithouses.

Not sold out today. When was the last time that happened since promotion?
This must register with the owners, given the plans to increase the capacity.
-
Normally with a game like this you expect to lose and think that anything we get is a bonus. Toady it’s almost anything better then 0-4 is a bonus.
I’ll be glad when it’s over and we don’t have to see their bunch of smug, entitled fans for another year.

The last time we played Man City at home.

It's a strange feeling today, one that I have never ever experienced before. For the past 40 years or so I have gone to Villa park mostly hoping for a win, knowing we could lose but never ever absolutely certain that we will lose the match. Not even in that horrific 15/16 season I thought, before a game, that we will not get anything from it but football or competitive nature of football in this country has been so totally fucked up by these filthy ****** that the last bastion of shelter that us fans had, the ambition of HOPE, has been destroyed. This will kill the game.
-
I'd rather than club not bother playing these. Twice a season, take a default 3-0 defeat.
There's nothing remotely special about what they do. It's the most boring fixture of the season and there's nothing to get excited about. Their own fans feel the same way.The football they play is tedious, I'm not interested in death by a thousand passes. I'm not interested in a quarter of a billion pound full backs or half a billion pound defence or whatever new trinket the sportswashing insidious machine has bought this summer.
I wish the majority of the league would do the same. Just no fucking interest in playing them. They'll win the league anyway, so why bother.
Fuck off to your European wet dream, you boring, twats.
-

Anything less than that is a bonus.

I didn't stop to watch Grealish lift the trophy , but when Coutinho put us 2-0 up dozens of them streamed out . We all know what happened next , which meant all the bellends that had left early trying to get back in the ground at full time and getting pelters off Villa fans outside for leaving early. I told two city fans to enjoy Countryfile , cue a random Villa fan to come over to me and tell me he loves watching Countryfile !

I think it might well be too, we are so disorganised. Doesn't mean I'm wishing for it and won't be supporting the team, but I genuinely fear that could be the outcome. A few early goals and VP will be toxic for Stevie G, cuing all his media mates to say how nasty we are.

I don’t think my language would be clean enough for the family zone! I also don’t want it to be the cricket score above, but as Duncan says: we’re so disorganised. Man City are beyond ruthless…
I would love nothing more than us to give Man City a game as we have done in the last couple of seasons, but I have seen very little in the first few games of this season to suggest that we’ll be able to stem the tidal wave of Man City aggression on the ball.
And I bloody wish we’d signed Julian Alvarez too when we had the chance to.
-
Everton looking much improved. Very competitive against one of the best teams in the world. Over to you Gerrard.

I can never understand why some of our fans spend most of the match in the concourse chatting and drinking. But today I might join them. Least favourite fixture of the season by a mile.
-
Just short of 9 years ago we won this fixture 3-2 in a very strange game.

Not looking forward to this one at all, but I dreamt that Tyrone or Meatball knocked one over the top and Watkins controlled it with a perfect touch and buried the ball in the corner.

Friend coming from London, anyone got any safe parking for him
-
Just behind Emiliano Martinez would be ideal.

needs somewhere for a quick get away about 5.45

Even better behind Citeh’s goalkeeper as doubt we’ll be troubling that too much

Just short of 9 years ago we won this fixture 3-2 in a very strange game.

Or the distant 4-2 win when Gabby was on fire. I shook Randy Lerner's hand that day and was filled with hope for the future. Shows what a judge of character I am !

For an all too short time two years ago we feared no-one, and the players were clearly having a whale of a time. It was as close to the marauding 76/77 team as possible.
Now, I’m going to attempt blind drunk or turn the tele off.
Come on Villa!

Have we gone 442?

Konsa.....nooooo

What's happened to Dendoncker, played for Wolves as recently as Sunday.
Guess that's a narrow 4-4-2 from looking at the team but it will probably revert to 4-6-0 within a minute or two.
Would be surprised if Man. City don't score at least four tbh, they'll pull us all over the pitch.
