FROM PRAVDA

Season tickets for 2017/18 go on sale on Saturday February 18 from 9am – with an Early Bird window available until Friday April 7.

All prices have been frozen across the stadium for adults.

Price bands for juniors have been reworked, making it cheaper for more with U16s starting from £3 per match and U21s from £6 per match.

Adult prices start from £14 per match. A family of four can attend from just £28 per match.

Dr Tony Xia is determined to lead the club back to the top, with Steve Bruce looking to turn things around on the pitch.

Be here for the key moments next season as the focused pair aim for a vibrant Villa Park – and a successful era.

Chief Executive Keith Wyness said: “There’s no better feeling for a family than spending quality time together – and we’d love to see Villa Park full of dads, mums and kids cheering on the team.

“We here at Aston Villa strongly believe that football is for the whole family – and support of the club goes down from generation to generation.

“We want to create moments that matter next season – and sharing them with your nearest and dearest will hopefully live long in the memory for years to come.

“We’re determined to do this and we want you here for that journey.”

As a season ticket holder, not only do you enjoy a great price for your seat, you also get a number of additional benefits.

We have a range of new - and existing benefits - to look forward to in the coming season including an all-new loyalty scheme.

We’ll also honour our commitment to providing the first home cup game of 2017/18 free to 2016/17 season ticket holders that renew.

Please CLICK HERE to check out all the details surrounding 2017/18 season tickets.

Our current season ticket holders will also have a personalised website with your key moments from the season so far.

We’ll email you with your link.

Make sure you share your favourite Villa Park moments using #MyVillaMoments.

On sale tomorrow morning - watch you don't get trampled in the rush!
I may have misread it* but it seems the Early Bird price offer is that the price is frozen but basically they're going up if you wait until the summer.
We do get the first home cup match free again though! Shouldn't that be two now?
So if I renew by beginning of April I get it for the same "bargain" £535 I paid for this season, or if I wait until the close season like I normally do I'll get ripped off even more.
Robbing b******s!

*I withdraw all the above moaning if someone tells me I've read it wrong!

Think they should have given at least two cup matches and a reduction on last years prices. Also a proviso that if we get relegated we would get x% back

To be fair some significant discounts.  I have 2 full 3 kids in l7 this year was 1200 next year opened up family ticket so can get for about 900.  The 9 month interest free though has been shortened

Typical Villa ...we only get half the info .......
So we purchase now and pay same as last season but what to prices change to then? That is required so an informed decision can be made
Will prices change for Division One football if our free fall carries on?
New loyalty scheme ....but what is it?
No element of lost home cup ticket factored into prices

There is little incentive there to buy a season ticket other than keep your seat all season

I don't get the early bird incentive. They're saying prices are frozen, but only if you buy before 7th April? So in which case, they're not freezing them at all. Have I got that right?
Title: Re: Season tickets 17/18
Post by: oswald funkletrumpet on February 18, 2017, 10:52:57 AM
The date of 7th april is very early and it insinuates they will be more expensive after

They are definitely missing a trick as from memory our prices didnt reduce much with relegation and plenty wont renew so why not give a decent reduction instead of having 12k empty seats per game?

There should be a price cut really. It'd be a nice bit of decent PR as well as being an apology to the fans for the state of the club.

I've noticed more and more this season that clubs are offering concessions to Over 60's which has been great for me as over 60 but i note that Villa won't budge from offering concessions to Over 65's.

This could be my last season as i basically struggle to afford it. Plus we're shite!!!!

Not really bizarre - it probably makes quite good sense for them not to allow you time to get used to having that extra money in your pocket. You might decide you like it!

With the retirement age rising, shouldn't the age concession level be going up rather than down ?

Interesting that they say prices will rise if we don't take up the early-bird offer.  We were promised that we'd pay the same for our seat next season if we took up the 16/17 early-bird offer - proof. (http://web.archive.org/web/20160425100146/http://www.avfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10265~5513104,00.html?)  I'll renew after, and I'll be holding them to that promise.

I've just checked and I brought mine on the 21st May so my price is fixed. I wonder if they've forgotten that they offered that deal last season?

I've renewed mine and bought my daughter one the first time. Its a good deal for kids compared to last year, just £69 but if I was just an adult Id  be pretty pissed off with a price freeze that lasts for just 2 months with the threat of it going up. I can see some very Dissapointing attendances next season.

It wouldn't surprise me - has anyone asked the ticket office about this yet?

Also, if you think about that offer, we were told that if we bought early last year, the price would freeze for this year, but they have now been frozen for everyone so our "early-booking bonus" has been taken away from us. They should offer us something extra in return.

I had an email about this yesterday. I've looked further into it on Pravda (https://www.avfc.co.uk/page/SeasonTicketInformation/) and it looks like we can renew our existing seats in the 'Second Renewal & Sales window' between May 8th and June 9th, but if you scroll down to the bottom of that page one of the footnotes states: "***Regardless of divisional status, prices will increase in the second sales window", so it looks like they've reneged on last season's commitment. I think I'll ring the club tomorrow and find out for sure.

Think this decision is going to massively back fire, whilst I applaud an 'early bird' it actually has to be an offer not patronising nonsense such as a price freeze.

The fact there was no home cup game is partly because of the luck of the draw but also partly because of the utterly gutless showing at Luton, why not knock the £10-£15 for that off next years ticket?

Just think this is a wasted opportunity, had the early bird been 10% reduction for next year with the proviso that should we get promoted next year the prices will return to this years prices for the following season would have been fair & shown a little imagination....this strikes me as complacent & taking us all for granted.

Feel more distant from our club by the week, thought we were gonna fight this mediocrity together, clearly not....

I must admit to feeling disappointed with the prices for the season ticket renewals, I understand that the Dr is now ploughing millions of his own cash each month??? to keep the club going at it's current level, but I honestly thought the early bird scheme would last until at least the end of May.

It will be interesting to see how many of our current season ticket holders take up the early bird offer. I am sure that if it is a large number of supporters then Wyness and Co. will be quick enough to tell us, if the take up is not great then they may just keep it quiet.

I will wait until I see what is happening at the club before deciding whether to renew again.

Good luck trying to attract new st holders in june and july

Help miaow us up to mid table by paying more than you would have in the pl. The upper trinity will contain cardboard cut outs to create the illusion of a full stadium. Any spare cut outs will be utilised behind the many bars

After raising this by phone with the ticket office I sent a lengthy formal complaint by email about this earlier this week, and included the url of the page that made the offer last April. I had an initial reply from Lee Preece and was waiting for a fuller response from Lynne O'Reardon (Head of Ticketing). Obviously others have done the same. Good to see the club is listening.

I haven't had a season ticket for years (think 2006 season was my last one just before I headed up to Uni) but I just look at the prices now and shake my head, I remember the Trinity costing 500 + quid when we were riding high in the prem so we could get away with it then but the same price to sit in the Holte and watch bottom half championship football. Since when has behind the goal been an incredibly expensive place to watch football?

Our crowds have held up well this season....only a couple of games under 30k and the Holte is I think always a good guide into how many season tickets we've sold and most games this season it's been more packed than in Premier league.

I just don't see what's the incentive to get a season ticket nowadays bar it's what you've always done and it seems that goodwill is what the club relies on given the lack of incentives they offer.

Think our crowds will start off low next season and then hopefully improve as our form does.

It's about time the team stepped up and started delivering on the pitch. Next season imo is our most important for a long time, I really think it will shape the next decade for us and maybe even define the ownership.

BBHi both,
Got this in an email from Afam Lowe at Villa today....

To clarify and in response to a number of comments from Season Ticket Holders, supporters that renewed their 2016/17 season ticket before 31st May 2016 will have their price frozen beyond the Early Bird deadline of 7th April 2017 and will remain frozen until the first home league game of the 2017/18 season in August (date to be confirmed). Your existing seat will be held until 5pm on Friday 9th June. We will continue to monitor feedback and act accordingly.

I just wanted to let you know as we have seen supporters querying this. Please hold until we go out later today but when we do feel free to address any of those concerns in your forum.

I've no idea when I renewed mine last season. They shouldn't be putting the prices up for anyone though. Absolutely fucking ludicrous.

If a band / musician / comedian were so shit that they could only ever fill 75% of a venue and even people who'd bought tickets didn't turn up, they wouldn't get away with putting prices up for the next tour on the promise that they might be better.
Or tell you what, sorry it's been crap tonight but buy a ticket for tomorrow night before this show finishes and you can have it for the same price!

Which games would you have struggled to get away tickets to if you hadn't got a season ticket?

Given the allocations we get for this league I'd imagine you'd be o.k if you just went to most home games.

You're joking arnt you?..There have been games that have sold out in 24 hours this season. Its only the last couple of games that are struggling to sell due to the realisation that the season is over.

There's been 3 where you could have got an away ticket without a ST. Norwich, Barnsley and Newcastle. Plus Spurs in the cup. I don't think there are any others.

It's only really the local games and novelty ones like Brentford that have sold out fast....I was on about the ones where we've had massive allocations like PNE and Barnsley and Wigan in a few weeks where you get massive allocations, I went to the PNE game and I don't have a season ticket and I could get a ticket for Wigan no problem if I wanted.

It's a difficult one. I certainly don't want to criticise season ticket holders but it always gives me a wry smile when people blindly forked out 400-500 quid every year without fail and then criticise the club continually and all the decisions it makes.

Maybe maybe picking and choosing the games (for example going to all the weekend games but missing some of the midweek games) would force the club maybe to not take the loyalty for granted and start making some better decisions on and off the pitch.

I think the club is quite complacent judging by these prices that they think they'll have 25k renewing no problem this season, I think they'll be in for a shock this time. Last summer the takeover gave a fresh sense of optimism which I can understand and imagine our sales picked up as a result, not sure what the sweetner will be this time as we've done the splash shed loads of money act too many times now.

I did wonder about Preston, Blackburn and Wigan will be as well but it's still only 6 or 7 out of 23 aways. As for ST there's no way we have 25K, i'd  guess it's around 19K which makes the pricing daft to me.
Title: Re: Season tickets 17/18
Post by: SoccerHQ on February 23, 2017, 11:50:36 PM
I think any fan who does the 23 aways this season or even just 20 actually deserves a free season ticket for next season given how we've approached and played most of them. Preston was enough for me not to bother with another one this season (I usually managed 4-5 a season in the prem) and apart from Reading and Brighton I haven't really missed much. I dread to think how much it's costed per goal.

Just had a chat with Lynne O'Reardon. She confirmed that people who paid for their ST before 31st May last year will now have until first game of the season to obtain next season's ST at the same price as last year. BUT it's worth noting that while you have until the first game to get the ST at the same price you can only guarantee/renew your actual seat by 6th June, before the relocation day kicks in. So if, like me, you want the same seat at the same price you need to do it by 6th June (although on that personalised web page email I've just read it actually says by 9th June)

I think a lot of people understand a foreign language better than they speak it. I could possibly understand quite a few questions in French or Spanish for example, but wouldn't be able to answer much beyond yes or no.

I also noticed that when Gestede translated for Kodja earlier in the season, Kodja was smiling whilst questions were being asked and Rudy was talking so it looks like he also understands English pretty well, but just wasn't confident to answer in English.

If I was abroad I think it would take me a fair while before I felt confident to go on national television and speak that language without thinking I'd probably say something rude or ridiculous by mistake that'd be replayed on various tv programmes for years to come!

Depends how busy it gets, if it gets busy they only sell match tickets from about 13:30pm/14:00pm and it may depend on how you want to pay for the season ticket i.e Zebra takes longer than a card/cash transaction and dont forget to use any unused Villa Cash !!!!!!!!

Renewed mine earlier today. Very long wait on the phone too. The process was quick enough but and it's a big but that bugs me, the charge for using a card to pay for the transaction. It's not the amount they charge it's the principle and no, everyone doesent charge an admin fee now. I requested that my thoughts were passed on to all concerned.

I paid by card and wasn't charged any extra fee

Nor me - I am pretty sure there's not supposed to be a charge on season tickets.

I did question it. The only way you don't get charged an admin fee is by paying cash I was informed. I kind of understand it for a credit card but a debit card? Check your statement and see if there's a £2 admin fee.

Whilst waiting, still, just thought they could also have a "Blues game only line" as I suspect that is what is clogging up the lines. That way you those fans can be tested on their dedication to going by waiting on the phone listening to the worst music of all time.😡

Surely it will make sense for them to extend the "Early Bird" deadline until after the Blose game, lots of people might just give up trying to buy if they're being kept on hold for ages.

Can whoever is going to the next club meeting (Dave? Amfy?) suggest this please?

They don't half take some long fag breaks in that ticket office.
In the last 10 days I've had four failed attempts to get through on the phone, one was a 45 min wait, today I had to hang up after half an hour. Why on earth they haven't been able to work the cash back so you can renew online I can't fathom. Over £2k I'm trying to spend with them on our 4 tickets. It'll have to wait now, bollocks to them.
They'll need to put these renewal dates back to the summer if ever we gat back to reaching cup semis & finals.

It's entirely possible that we are 10,000 up on last year given that, as far as I recall, there was no "Early Bird" incentive for purchasing early last season. I'd expect us to sell a few more over than we managed last season but I'd be amazed if we ended up selling anything like 10,000 more.

That's right for existing season ticket holders, because we have a price freeze from last year still in place.

For new season ticket holders, the price freeze does end now.

Also, I think that although the price freeze for existing ST holders has been extended to the start of the season, there's still a date in June(?) that's the cut off for retaining your current seat

It does all seem a bit overcomplicated

Just had this is a mail (I assume it will be on the website too?):

If you intend to purchase a season ticket for next season, but are struggling to get through to us, please leave your client reference number by clicking the button below.

REGISTER HERE

If you do so before 11.59pm on Friday April 7, we will honour our Early Bird prices and finance payment options for you until 5pm on Thursday April 13.

Call the ticket office on 0333 323 1874 to complete your season ticket purchase before that time.

Our phone lines are extremely busy at the moment as demand is high for the coming campaign.

That’s added to the fact we’ve now sold more season tickets at this point in the year than any of our previous eight seasons.

We want to make the process of you showing your support in 17/18 as easy as possible so that you can share the moments that matter with us at Villa Park. #MyVillaMoments

You can still purchase your 2017/18 season ticket today. Call 0333 323 1874 or visit us at the Ticket Office before 8pm, or click below to buy online.

If you already have a season ticket your renewal prices is frozen until the deadline for your stand to hold on to your seat. Usually early June. Of course this news does mean it's probably going up for 2018/19, but for now you can still renew at the same price for 17/18.

The price freeze only applies if you renewed before 31st May last year (last season's 'special offer'). If you renewed after that date and didn't take advantage of the 'Early Bird' offer you'll pay the new price.  Fortunately for me I took advantage of the offer last season so for my seat in K4 I'll pay the same as this year (£535) rather than the increased price (£570), and to keep my seat I need to renew before 9th June.

I miss going to VP and the away games too. Nothing in Australia really substitutes for it. I've been at Suncorp stadium and seen Brisbane roar win the a- league grand final on two occasions, but it doesn't anywhere near compare to a packed Villa Park when the crowd is sparked up.

Finally renewed today, decided when the prices were launched to wait until near the end of the window because I thought the whole pricing structure was very complacent and relied upon majority renewing through habit....which in the end I did

To laud a price freeze like they were doing us a favour just didn't rock it with me....and whilst I understand the need to entice families and young fans as the future it would be nice if just occasionally they considered general adults who buy their own ticket! 5 years of dross.... made this summer the first time that I actually thought do I or don't I? Or even worse can I be bothered?

Went down the Villa today to move my ST seat. They've already sold 18k, which they said was the highest amount (by June) for a number of years.
Oh and in the Mail yesterday Small Heath were gloating because they've just broken through the magical 5k sales mark.

Is that that they have sold 5 thousand, or sold seat 5K, which takes total sales up to 115...

1. They have to pay the installment watcher to make sure your installment  is going through.

2. You are getting fleeced.

You pays your money and you takes your choice.

Maximising Revenue Streams is the thought which comes to mind.

Spoke to the ticket office today, they still haven't finalised the Away Ticket scheme yet although they say it will be 'imminently'.

Small time club. They will have  a million excuses for those stats though.

"Da Vile get 13000 fans from everywhere apart from Brum."

"I work shifts at the Rover , cant have a season ticket."

Deep down they know what they spout is bullshit,it probably compounds their hatred for all things Villa.

To  be fair if you pay anything in this life by instalments there is  an added charge.  Car insurance charges on average an extra 15-20% to the price.  I am not trying to be pious but if paying by instalments was free  everyone would be on it.

After being a member of the Away Scheme since it's inception I've now been thrown out because I missed the deadline - being on holiday in Mallorca.

Well that's it for me and this two bob Championship club.

I'm almost wishing that bad things happen to them (other than having SB as the manager).

Feckety bye everyone.

I'm sure a tear-stained relegation post will work better than an email to the club.

I've read Levico's post 3 times now and I'm still puzzled as to why someone would post such a thing.

Do you mean that you've been thrown out because you returned more tickets than you are allowed?

I'm holding my letter and I have until Friday, I don't see why you would have anything different.
