If you are hoping to see Jack start you'll be disappointed. Happy New Year everyone!
Guzan, Hutton, Vlaar, Okore, Cissokho, Sanchez, Bacuna, Cleverley, Weimann, Agbonlahor, Benteke.
subs: Given, Clark, Cole, N'Zogbia, Lowton, Grealish, Robinson.
-
What a load of tommy tank. Expect Cole and Grealish on for the last 15 minutes in a desperate attempt to avoid scoring zero for the umpteenth time. Merry '15 you feckers
-
I thought Richardson would be involved.

thank god nzogbias benched
-
No Cole or grealish. Very Little creativity again
Surely one or other of them would be better than Weimann at the moment
Glad to be following this one on the phone whilst having a family dinner to be honest
-
Win please Villa and no red cards.
-
How Cleverley and Weimann continue to start, McGrath only knows. More of the same I fear. UTV.
-
Lambert obviously has no interest in what we, the fans, say.
How Grealish isn't in the starting lineup is beyond me.
Come on Villa, prove me wrong. Come on Cleverley, you too. In my opinion, you're the most uninspiring midfielder I've seen in a long time. You're that dull, I prefer Westwood. Get some creativity in the team, Lambert, you plank.
Anyway, good luck Villa.
-
Lambert has turned into TSM and is almost scared to be attacking and adventurous. The defence is playing well enough to keep the score down so why by so conservative in attack? Today should have presented a good opportunity to "have a go" so to speak. Like others, I expect the creative players to be thrown on more in desperation than as a tactical move in the last 20min or so.
-
Gabby starring in the undroppable me.
-
Lambert has all the flair and imagination of a snails fart.
What a shit line up......again >:(
-
Lambert obviously has no interest in what we, the fans, say.
That's pretty irrelevant, though. No manager should take selection advice from the fans.
-
I have a good feeling about today - I don't understand why JG isn't starting, but I reckon we'll have no troubles in doing Palace either way.
-
After seeing the same old boring team selection by our boring manager, another goal less bore draw i fear
-
Think Lambert sees the midfield trio as critical for controlling possession, so I guess with the players available, it had to be those three. Happy to see Bacuna start. The forward line is disappointing though, really thought Jack deserved a start. Really need Gabby and Weimann to discover some form if we're to get goals today. UTV
-
Villa to save another attacker's career, Zaha. Gayle on as sub to score as usual?
-
Lambert obviously has no interest in what we, the fans, say.
That's pretty irrelevant, though. No manager should take selection advice from the fans.
No, absolutely. What I'm trying to say is that surely he can see that the fans are crying out for entertainment, for goals. Surely he can feel the sense of expectancy when Grealish comes on and runs at players? He's often spoken about how great Villa Park is when 'you get it going'. Yet Lambert seems to shy away from any sort of exciting flair play. He's not going to 'get it going' with Weimann, Cleverley and company running around like headless chickens.
-
Barely nobody walking up to game !
-
That is...err...shit.
-
No Pardew in dug out so I think we can nick a draw, exciting times
-
Reckon sub 27k today
-
After last week I decided to give this one a miss. I may have made the right choice. Crystal Palace have problems scoring so he picks Agbonlahor and the dreadful Weimann to make sure we dont!
Its demoralising.
Wecome to 2015.
-
Dropping N'Zogbia shows some sign of progress.
-

But he thinks we're demolishing teams and just unlucky in from of goal (as opposed to being lucky to get near the goal)
Lambert on goalscoring (http://mobile.avfc.co.uk/default.aspx?s=news-display&aid=4391816)
New day/week/year (delete as appropriate)
Same old (bull)shit.
-
Can't believe he isn't giving Robinson a chance either.
-
I had a free £10 bet so picked a palace player with good name but unlikely scorer - Mariappa 17-1 anytime.
-
here's a shock, no ones picked up my seat for this on Viagogo
-
If you can't go a little bit more attacking against Crystal Palace at home, then you never will.
-
Barely nobody walking up to game !
I bet Westly is
-
here's a shock, no ones picked up my seat for this on Viagogo
The club facebook page was telling people to arrive early to avoid the queues.
-
He's gone for the rather not lose approach than try to win. Keep it tight and maybe pinch a goal. If not fist pump the 0-0 and go again.
-
How Cleverley and Weimann continue to start, McGrath only knows. More of the same I fear. UTV.
I don't understand it . Both championship footballers who we would never miss . How andi starts ?? His finishing ,control and brain are not working at the moment. So predictable
-
Aside from putting Bacuna in, that's a disappointing lineup. Cleverley is shit. Weimann is long overdue dropping and Gabby you just live in the hope he has one of his good games in 10.
I would hope we'll see Grealish come on early if he's needed. Theres no creativity in that side. The sooner Lambert realises Gabby and Weimann aren't creative players (or goalscorers) the better.
-
If you can't go a little bit more attacking against Crystal Palace at home, then you never will.
Very true, Risso
-
Dropping N'Zogbia shows some sign of progress.
He was shit against Sunderland but actually still better than andi
So predictable Andi and gabby zzzzzzzzzzzz
-

That's to get out.

must be a good roast hog van I imagine

With Lambert more like the last 10 minutes, when there's no chance as we're already losing.
-

He was shit against Sunderland but actually still better than andi
So predictable Andi and gabby zzzzzzzzzzzz
Ironically it was one of Insonmias better games, but he was still shit.
-
I've just started making a Nigella ham in coke recipe as a match warm up
-
If you can't go a little bit more attacking against Crystal Palace at home, then you never will.
Very true, Risso
Absolutely what a fucking joke.
-

I made one of those last christmas. It was nice.

Did you see the other day, the OS quoted him as saying the Premier League is of a poor quality this season?
This from the manager of a team which has scored 11 goals in half a season of it.

You gotta laugh

If you can't beat them, join them.

Don't make me regret stopping work for this, Villa.

haha.
I remember Westley scoffing the other day when someone suggested that Lambert sends sides out to not lose, rather than to win.
If this starting 11, against a godawful Palace side doesn't hammer that point home, I don't know what will.
-
i see Weimann has his shorts on the right way round, that's a start
-
Shot on goal in the first minute.. My word.
-
Wow. A shot within a minute. I'm stunned. Revive me.
-
I can see the match thread today being full of New Years humour
-
You never know, we might batter them.
-
Happy New Year all. why isn't Jack on! Unreal!
-
Happy New Year all. why isn't Jack on! Unreal!
Apparently he's still showing some signs of flair, and we can't be having that
-
i see Weimann has his shorts on the right way round, that's a start
Boots are tied up too, but unsure if he did them himself!
-

stuck some ginger in it too, need to add your own mark on these things
-

Lambert will surely drive that out of him! otherwise he will never fit in!
-
palace look like Brasil on my stream
the kit , not the team
-
Concrete Ron's paper knee took a nasty fold there.
-
You never know, we might batter them.
*chuckle*
-
Ace, Vlaar injured.
-
blancmange Ron
-
Ta ra Vlaar
-
Getting 3G in the ground due to low crowd
-
Bacuna had Gabby in space, but took the more sensible option.
-
Ace, Vlaar injured.
Well, there's a surprise. The soft shite.
-
Rubbish Leandro
-
He may as well sign a new contract because no one is going to buy him for 10 games a season
-
this is why Manure or arse wont buy him
-
Bloody hell Ron. What are your legs made out of?
-
My stream just stopped. Imagine my disappointment when it came back on again.
-
That was some shocking defending.
-
We have a great track record of signing crocked defenders
-
the streams are shite today
maybe Murdoch is winning
-
Had he actually gone of ?
I have no steam
-
Clark coming on
-
My stream just stopped. Imagine my disappointment when it came back on again.
I just shared the following observation with my brother in law - "excited for a minute then when i couldn't find a stream for the Villa match but I've found one now :-("
-
whys he still on
-
That's Vlaar's hopes for a January transfer scuppered.
-
Ooooohhhh, close. Superb save to be fair.
-
Huts should of scored
-
i have ok stream ten minutes behind ffs
-
Ron off.
-
My stream just stopped. Imagine my disappointment when it came back on again.

Quite, imagine for just a moment the joyful possibility of doing something worthwhile instead?
-
Vlaar's knees are made of Glass , doubtful we will get good money for him! he may as well stay
-
hutton nearly in
-
Ronnie Rosenthal returns.
-
maybe we should stick Hutton up front
-
WOW, Palace are as bad in front of goal as us
-
Poor from Leandro there. Amazing pace by Bolasie.
-
More utterly wank defending. We are dire.
-
has Clark been injured because he hasnt deserved to be dropped for the blancmange one
-
rosenthal
-
Well that's a let off
-
sitter missed by palace
-
It just seems to drone on for week after week with no real sign of getting any better for any length of time.
-
beat me to it jumbo
-
We look shocking.
-
palace battered us at their ground but were rubbish final ball
-
hahaha
-
Take a draw anyone?
-
has Clark been injured because he hasnt deserved to be dropped for the blancmange one
Back injury. I think it was why he came off in the game the other day. So fingers crossed he's okay today.
-
No Jack. No hope.
-
beat me to it jumbo
The diet starts tomorrow.
-
We look shocking.
This is normal
-
No Jack. No hope.
He made a difference against Swansea and Sunderland. You'd think Lambert would have spotted that.
-
Gabby and Weimann have disappeared already
-
I couldn't find a stream so am reduced to listening bet365 commentary.
Lots of dead air, as nothing appears to be happening.
-
My first new year dump was way more exciting than this crap.
-
beat me to it jumbo
The diet starts tomorrow.
oops that was an accident, sorry!
-
We look shocking.
an improvement on sunderland game then, i'll take that
-
Fucking useless formation that means all our threat has to come from the full-backs. Lambert was supposed to be an adaptable manager, but he just does the same thing, over and over again, and it's fucking dire. Someone needs to explain to him what the words "attacking midfielder" mean.
-
Good ball in from Leandro. At least we've got a good set piece taker on the pitch.
-
I'd love to see Robinson and Grealish playing where Weimann and Gabby play.
-
That plastic bag drifting along the pitch. Sign it up.
-
the game is perfect for jack and robinson
-
Footballing purgatory.
-
if you look at the stats, with something like 77% possession and 4 shots on goal you'd think we were battering them. Yet we can't seem to get close to goal or truly look threatening. So weird.
-
No Jack. No hope.
ive just poured my second with ice
-
It's amazing for us to have over 70% of the ball in a game. But anytime Weimann and Gabby have to come back to act as playmakers, it all goes dead. They cannot do it. Get Jack on.
-
I've just started making a Nigella ham in coke recipe as a match warm up
I don't understand how this works. You snort it off the ham?
-
This is hideous.
I am never going to make it to half time without booze.
-
Midfield and attack look disjointed again, oh for Grealish to run at them.
-
No one ahead of Sanchez has a clue.
-

They might as well not be on the pitch for all they contribute.
-
This is so boring. Feel sorry for those who pay to see this.
-

perhaps I should stream it - its got another hour and half on the hob yet
-
This is worse than Sunderland. At least Im not down there to see it this week!
-
I think my stream has stopped for good. This is excellent news.
-
The Holte should stamp and clap:
We want JACK! Repeat
-
anyone seen that tit with a tattoo on the holte yet?
-
The Holte should stamp and clap:
We want JACK! Repeat
They're getting jack (shit), so far.
-
Shall I start drinking now and cook myself a steak for tea tonight, or pop out to the pub and then have a curry?
-
good effort
-
The Holte should stamp and clap:
We want JACK! Repeat
Lambert would be proud. He gives us jack every single week.
-
We're really missing Delph's drive in midfield.
-
ive just looked at Lambert another JD for me , he depresses me
-
I think my stream has stopped for good. This is excellent news.
Mine has gone too! Hurrah.
-
Most entertaining thing so far = the commentator (arabic) referring to alanoooootton
-
Benteke needs to get more involved. He's been anonymous recently for his standards
-
New Year....same old shit
hats off to all who go to vp to sit through this utter wank week in week out
-
so what the f**k has weimann done so far ? ffs get jack on at least
infact and gabby
-
looking at the positives, we haven't conceded all year....
... (well someone had to say it)
-
this is lambert, the players are not as bad as this
-
so what the f**k has weimann done so far ? ffs get jack on at least
infact and gabby
Gabby's playing?
-
Pointless 40 yard shots.
-
Most entertaining thing so far = the commentator (arabic) referring to alanoooootton
He is doing a sterling job of making this sound a lot more exciting than it actually is. Close your eyes and you'd think you were listening to a one-touch-only, rush goalie El Classico.
-
Ah my stream has died.
It must have nodded off
-
Unacceptable.
-
This is like an endless episode of Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Fucking Crisps.
-
This new style of football is working then
-
i started to go through my facebook feed this is so shit ... times are bad
-
Even the streams have given up on us!
-
Sat in my perch, staring at two yellow lines. Our attack intermingled with one, our midfield with the other. A space persists betwixt. Cole or Grealish on now, no point in waiting, nothing's gonna change otherwise.

This is definitely the worst thing on telly this christmas.
And that includes repeats of 20 year old episodes of Birds of a Feather on Dave.

and miranda
-
great ball from gabby across the box
-
Still slighty better than Miranda though.
-
I've decided to try a new style of going to the toilet for a number two. Instead of facing outwards, I'm going to sit facing the cistern. The shit still falls in the same place, but I look more stylish resting my elbows on the porcelain.
-
Still slighty better than Miranda though.
I didn't want to admit that but you are right

lambert doesnt do half time changes
these are his favourite three up front 11 f**king goals all season
-
Bacuna range.
-
"The goals will come"
-
Gabby, Weimann and Cleverley. What a shame that we've already used a sub. They're woeful.
-
"The goals will come"
... for Crystal Palace.
-
So shall have a sweepstake?
How many more minutes of this dross will have to watch before we see a goal?
-
Drives me insane when you can't provide for one of the best forwards in the league
-
i hope people shame those bloody hipster beards off in 2015
-
Drives me insane when you can't provide for one of the best forwards in the league
Even more insane when you choose not to.
-
Win today and we go 3 points above Everton as they're losing away to Hull.
Get Grealish on ffs this is shit.
-
close for palace there well done clark
-
The formation just doesn't work. There's no consistent threat. It takes us five minutes to laboriously work the ball out to one of the full-backs, and then they struggle to beat the first man. And there is literally no other threat, the ball isn't going into the box from any other outlet.
It might work if your full-backs are Lahm or Baines or Kolarov, and you have some intelligent movement around them and runners into the box. But if Lambert thinks it can work with these players, he's a moron.
-
You have to think it somewhat a shit miracle that Lambert has gone from a progressive manager with attacking intent when he first arrived to this. It seems almost impossible to do but he's managed it.
-
Win today and we go 3 points above Everton as they're losing away to Hull.
Get Grealish on ffs this is shit.
more worried about hull over taking us
-
This is pretty awful, isn't it?
Well, there are a couple of reasons for…..well, not optimism I suppose, not with Lambert still in charge, but at least some vague indefinable feeling that possibly things might get better one day.
Okore, Sanchez and Benteke are all good players and provide a good strong 'spine' to the team. Hutton is in good form. And although it's hardly helping us much at the moment, we are doing better in terms of possession.
That's it, though.
-
we are doing better in terms of possession.
But doing fuck all with it.
We can't cross, we can't pass or move with urgency.
-
lambert is not a poundland MON
he is a poundland McC
-
"The goals will come"
Where?
-
Lambert your clueless. He should be sacked before the half time whistle blows.
-
You have to think it somewhat a shit miracle that Lambert has gone from a progressive manager with attacking intent when he first arrived to this. It seems almost impossible to do but he's managed it.
I think he does have attacking intent, but just doesn't have a clue about how to make it happen on the pitch. There are seals lying on ice floes in the Arctic Ocean with more tactical acumen than Lambert.
-
We pose absolutely zero goal threat.
-
I'm glad we've progressed from having 20% possession in every game, but our inability to score is just beyond belief.
-
God this is shit. Grealish needs to come on at half time. Gabby and Weimann are desperately poor. You can't play as attacking midfielders if you can't control and pass a ball.
-
Fuck me Gabby and Weimann are shocking aren't they. Neither have any touch, Weimann is slower than the little fucking donkey and neither creates at all.
-
he'll bring Cole on before Grealish
-
Ha ha - just turned on the sound for the steam I'm watching and it sounds like daleks commentating! proper comedy.
-
Gabby's left his brain in a thimble by the bed this morning.
-
So how long ago was it we had those tough games and how many points have we had since?
-
did you gabby then just lose it in midfielder ffs
-
Agbonlahor is finished as a premier league player.
-
we are doing better in terms of possession.
But doing fuck all with it.
We can't cross, we can't pass or move with urgency.
Well, that's what I mean by 'it's not really helping us much', although I suppose it must help with our improved defensive performances. But it is a start.
Just trying out positivity for New Years Day. It clearly won't fucking last, mind.
-
The horrible thing is Lambert watches shit like this and really does think we're doing well.
-
i would have gone with robinson, grealish and bacuna today not the same dire shit
-
Chris Kamara. "Villa's build up play is so slow"
-
Ha ha - just turned on the sound for the steam I'm watching and it sounds like daleks commentating! proper comedy.
Yes!
It's like the guy with the voice box from Alan Partridge
-
Agbonlahor is finished as a premier league player.
No he isn't, and that's the problem.
-
Lambert your clueless. He should be sacked before the half time whistle blows.
Has a manager ever been sacked at the half time break?
-
Vlaar injured and hardly anything created, a new year but some things don't change.
-
The horrible thing is Lambert watches shit like this and really does think we're doing well.
excellent
-
This is so bad, it is actually funny.
Look at them, just shuffling it around at the back, utterly, utterly clueless.
-
What an 'excellent' half of football.
-
I like the way we pace ourselves for the onslaught we give the opposition after the 70th min
-
It's amazing how tolerant of this the fans at the game are.
-
Chris Kamara. "Villa's build up play is so slow"
He's bright that Kamara. He should pop down the Villa dressing and let the manager know.
I sometimes feel Lambert specs are those Google glasses and while the rest of us are watching this bollocks he's watching re-runs on YouTube of his glory days with Celtic and Dortmund
-
boo's lots
-
The fact that there is no attacking intent is so frustrating.
-
Terrible, terrible terrible.
-
Lerner and Fox need to look at how many empty seats there are.
There'll be even more in the championship next season.
-
you think he cant get any worse when it does
-
I take it I haven't missed much?
-
Has Gabby done anything this half? Has he run ran at all with the ball at his feet?
I would give many things in this world for Lambert to be booted out of Villa Park.
The football is appalling. This Sanchez to Cleverley, back to Sanchez monotony. Sometimes out to Hutton who cuts inside. And does nothing. Benteke is being starved. Cissohko never seems to ever put in a decent cross. It's abysmal to watch. Bacuna can't seem to find a man with his passes. Weimann is having another shocking season.
-
Boos ring out at HT. Good. It should be made abundantly clear that this isn't good enough. Hutton is our right back but he's the one trying to drive the team forward and trying to rally everyone else to up the tempo.
Why aren't our attackers, or one of TC or Bacuna doing this? It's all so languid and there's no urgency.
Aside from Hutton, Okore and Sanchez, no one else seems too bothered about trying to play football. Benteke looks bored stiff.
-
Even with the power and expressiveness of the English language, I find it hard to express just how eye-bleedingly shit that was.
-
we need a red card , we play 10% better with ten men
-
It's just woeful to watch.
-
Garbage
-
Awful...you can see why we don't score. The front 3 are not in the game, they are in a cluster waiting for a ball. Our midfield has no options and cannot create...Cleverly ìs a crab.
-
Jesus that was painful. Team deservedly booed off. Lambert do something
-
Get rid of Gabby or Weimann for Grealish.
-
Collymore going ape about the dross he has seen on TS.
-
Even with the power and expressiveness of the English language, I find it hard to express just how eye-bleedingly shit that was.
"Best league in the world!"
I've seen better play in the IOM Sunday pub league.
-
Lambert is a fucking moron.
There feel better.
-
whats happened to our club
why the f**k does this manager keep persisting with weimann , gabby and cleverly
he is out of his depth , he makes McC look like Keegan at times
-
Even with the power and expressiveness of the English language, I find it hard to express just how eye-bleedingly shit that was.
One word, Lambert.
That was fkin Lambert.
-
Collymore's had a fine old rant about this garbage just now on Talksport.
"It's dross, absolute dross."
-
Well I am having a great time.
-
Just eavesdropped on the half time team talk.
'Who has nay been sent off this season? Right Andreas, your turn son, I need you to get yourself sent off early. I can't say youse were excellent otherwise.'
-
Awful stuff. The front 3 are offering nothing ,with the system with 3 in the middle the front 3 need to get wide and create but they don't there is no options wide other than the full backs.
We are keeping the ball by taking the safe pass every single time.
-
That first half was pure dog shit
-
I know it isn't going to happen, but I would just love him to get sacked, just show the fans we should be better than this.
-
After today and saturdays inevitable exit from the FA Cup any other manger would be out of a job. I don't know who is more clueless the manager or the owner. I'm baffled.........
-
Has Gabby done anything this half? Has he run ran at all with the ball at his feet?
I would give many things in this world for Lambert to be booted out of Villa Park.

It really is both shocking and predictable to watch. What is Sanchez supposed to do with the ball, there is no movement whatsoever. Just as a variation, try to get some crosses in. How are we suppposed to score playing like this ? One goal from midfield all season and yet he persist with "the goals will come", "there has been good goalkeeping", blah blah blah
-
Afternoon, gents.
Missed the first half as I was traveling down to Porto and just checked in. I gather is was business as usual. Well I hope you all enjoy the second half, we're generally not complete shit for 90 minutes so you could be in for 45 minutes of wild entertainment.
Me? I'm off to drink some Port and enjoy the sunshine. I've done more than my fair share of suffering, I more than deserve a break from Lambert's Villa.
-
Just eavesdropped on the half time team talk.
'Who has nay been sent off this season? Right Andreas, your turn son, I need you to get yourself sent off early. I can't say youse were excellent otherwise.'
nail on head
this moran has excuse after excuse
any of us could provide better football than this
-
I think Lambert is doing a fine job
-
I know it isn't going to happen, but I would just love him to get sacked, just show the fans we should be better than this.
Indeed, it is absolutely pitiful. We can question West Brom's choice or Palace's choice, but at least they're trying something and not accepting woeful displays.
-
After today and saturdays inevitable exit from the FA Cup any other manger would be out of a job. I don't know who is more clueless the manager or the owner. I'm baffled.........
I'll give you a 1000000000000/1 we don't don't knocked out the FA Cup on Saturday.
-
We must be the dullest team in the northern hemisphere

Enjoy the sun and a port :-)
-
thought the boys were excellent etc etc...that was a massive point for us etc etc......zzzzzzzzzzzz
-
I didn't watch any of the first half, but if you looked at the stats, 74% and 7/2 shots makes us look good.
-
on the plus side.....nope, isnt one.
A once great football club reduced to apathy and a lack of any sort of passion whatsoever :'(
-
If Fox can't see this is turgid crap and the revenue will continue to fall while Lambert is allowed to continue, there's no hope of improvement. Our build up play is slow predictable and there's no movement off the ball. Fox talking about convincing Vlaar and Delph to stay is a task he's unlikely to win if any big clubs come calling.
Lambert needs to go and a big name manager might convince them but that's not going to happen.
If we're lucky we might just keep above the bottom four but only just.
-
Lambert is a fucking moron.
There feel better.
Seconded though I think you are being on the generous side...
-
Commentators obeservations.
"If you're going to have to this amount of possession against a team sitting as deep as Palace, the movement needs to be better and the passing sharper"
"Need someone who can take a player on"
"Hutton seems to be the only one who recognises they need better movement"
"Agbonhalor and Weimann need to offer more"
If we can all see it, commentators can see it, why the bloody hell can't Lambert.
-

ive had to have 3 JD's to calm my anger ;)

It's as if the players all know we're a pointless waste of their energy. It's quite incredible.
-
I kinda want Lambert to stay because you just know Lerner will appoint Irvine or Warnock.
-
He has to change it in the break....or it will confirm he is clueless.
-
Who said football is unpredictable?

Gotta be worth a quid :) Never before have I wanted the team I love to lose games just so we can get this dipshit out of a job, however I dont trust the idiot above him with replacing him. Confusing times at VP.
-
If it wasn't for the match thread on here, I wouldn't be sat at the computer. Something about shared pain I guess
-
I didn't watch any of the first half, but if you looked at the stats, 74% and 7/2 shots makes us look good.
that's all I'd seen until I logged on here. more proof that Villa are crap when they have too much of the ball.
they should give up on this passing the ball around at the back, just hoof the ball upfield and then pick the opposition off on the break.
are villa still persisting with Brad throwing/kicking the ball to the full backs standing on the goal line ?
-
I didn't watch any of the first half, but if you looked at the stats, 74% and 7/2 shots makes us look good.
Just shows how stats can mislead when they're a comparison of two crap teams and anyway Lambert doesn't believe in them.
-
Commentators obeservations.
"Agbonhalor and Weimann need to offer more"
how many times do we say this
drop them to the bench , give someone else a go , but the manager always starts with these two .
and they are not good enough at this moment
-
Please Lambert - Cleverley off and Grealish on. That's the only way we'll show any attacking threat and actually win this game. Sorry, what was that Lambert, we only want a point from this game? Oh right, silly me. I thought we were trying to win it.
-

you'll just lose, we can't possibly go out of the cup on saturday, sunday is another matter though.
-
Well that's a good start. Every link I use for our game is showing West Ham.
-
How on earth does anyone keep turning up to watch this shit? I have to be honest, I am at the point of stopping caring about it all as the last 4 years have been too depressing to contemplate.
If something doesn't change quickly I think the club is in danger of being damaged irreparably. I can genuinely see crowds of less than 20k becoming the norm next year - who is honestly going to keep forking out to watch us fail to create anything week after week?
-
If it wasn't for the match thread on here, I wouldn't be sat at the computer. Something about shared pain I guess
This thread is far more entertaining than the actual game.
-
Will he change anything at half time?
-
we have the slowest midfield in the world, and the most static forwards. It is called the shittest combination ever in terms of creating chances. We may as well be renamed Aston Villa Crabs FC.
-
I'm reliably informed that Tim Sherwood is at Villa Park today. I wish it wasn't just a coincidence.
-
Well that's a good start. Every link I use for our game is showing West Ham.
hes a good picture too , the villa ones are awful
-

repalce weimann?
-
Right then, second half!
Here we go, it's going to be great!
-
Between Lambert, the PL and FIFA I am really falling out of love with football.
-
Any subs?
-
Honestly, nobody in our team can cross the ball. Nobody.
-
You know when the Birmingham Six were let out of prison, and there was that footage of them, emerging into the modern world, after almost 20 years inside, unaware of the way things worked, a world to which they had never really been exposed, a world where they had to learn how to live again, it was so alien to what they had known before?
Or Nelson Mandela, walking down that road with Winnie after being let out of prison, decades breaking rocks on Robben Island, and then he's out and having to come to terms with what must have seemed a whole new dimension to him?
Well, that is exactly how I imagine it must feel for Carlos Sanchez having to play with these fucking muppets after spending the summer playing for Colombia in the world cup.
-
Get rid of Gabby or Weimann for Grealish.
Take 'em both off for him. We play better with ten.
-
Any subs?
does lambert do HT subs
-
Will he change anything at half time?
The biro for his notepad maybe. Other than that, no bloody chance.
-
Lambert your clueless. He should be sacked before the half time whistle blows.
Has a manager ever been sacked at the half time break?
A quick google brings up two examples - I thought there'd be loads.
Chichester City sacked Mark Poulton during the second half in 2010, but Fortuna Cologne sacked Toni Schumacher actually during the half time break. This left assistant Ralf Minge in charge.
-
Is lambert even here ? Don't appear to be on bench
-
Minge ;D
-
what a load of bollocks

They weren't fannying around then.
-
just notice Palaces best player isnt playing neither
-
I think they should commission one of them Amnaesia DJ's to do a scratch version of we were excellent.
'I thought we were excellent, thou thou thou we were excellent excel excel excellent. We go again, we go again, we go go go go again.'
-
Lambert your clueless. He should be sacked before the half time whistle blows.

I've found it usually is....
-
Painted a block of wood at half time so I could watch it dry whilst waiting for Palace to score their late winner. Tom Fox just called to offer me £1m for it.

I should have said this was back in 1999. Minge has moved on.
-
Southampton having struggled for a bit are finding their form again, while Everton are in free fall looking as bad as us. Dare I say it worse.
I need something to occupy my time while we knock it about
-
Perfect example this of our weakness.
-
SOMEONE PICK A FUCKING PASS FOR FUCK'S FUCKING SAKE
-
We had a chance to spring forward then, Sanchez did great, and Cleverley ran sideways 20 yards. We are crying out for a bit of invention in the final third. Nothing at all. And that was a corner for.
-
Only one top flight game left without a goal...
Who'd have thunk it?!
-
we were brilliant just brilliant
-
Sanchez really is class
-
We have become something hideous.
-
And here comes Gayle to score.
-
"i've never been one for stats"
"But you failed to score again, Paul"
"But we had 75% possession"
-
Someone get Cleverley a ticket back to Manchester please. Terrible player.
How much more will we endure until Lambert makes a change?
-
Cleverley on the other hand is the worst fucking player on the pitch. Is that Gayle?
Anyone for deja vu?
-
come on palace put us out of our misery
-
Another mishit pass goes out
-
well done cleverly great pass OFF THE PITCH
-
Great tackle Aly.
-
Grealish for Cleverley & Cole for Weimann to try to break them down, surely?
-
GET GREALISH ON.
-
Why the fuck are we trying to exactly the same thing we have done for 60 minutes while barely having a shot? Has Lambert actually given up?
-
I thought our run of games not scoring a goal earlier in the season was an anomaly as opposed to being somewhat of the norm even with Benteke back. Very depressing.
-
Is Benteke contributing gents?
-
Just had a tenner on Gayle next scorer, 10/1
-
close for palace his touch was bad there
-
shit marcus gayle is coming on
-
What the hell kind of pass was that?! Nothing has change this half, we need some attackers on now. This is beyond frustrating.
-
No brains.
-
This is disgraceful!
-
Bacuna makes his case for shittest player on the pitch. Fuck.
-
Fucking hell. Bacuna, WTF was that?
-
we deserve to lose this for no other reason than we certainly don't deserve to win it.
-
He will break another record if this stays the same. Anyone take a guess?
-
Grealish for Cleverley & Cole for Weimann to try to break them down, surely?
Part one occurs.
-
jack on!
-
bacuna oh dear
-
Grealish on. Long overdue today.
-
I can't believe I only got 2.5 on 0-0 from Bet365
-
Grealish for the woeful Cleverley. 7.5 million 60k a week? He can fuck off. I am better.
-
63 minutes too late, Lambert, you ******.
-
Is this the Dortmund model?
-
63 minutes and 50 seconds too late.
-
Is this the Dortmund model?
Only this season's Dortmund.
-
about fuckin time, go on Jack, run at them
-
I'd have rather had Grealish on for Weimann.
-
I'd have rather had Grealish on for Weimann.
I'd have preferred Grealish on for Cleverley AND Weimann.
-
This really is shite isn't it. Any reasonable side would have opened these up a long time ago. We're still here huffing and puffing to get shots on target.
-
I'm watching this for free and I still think I should get some money back. Absolutely fucking disgraceful in every way.
-
Lambert your clueless. He should be sacked before the half time whistle blows.

No, but there's a Twat managing us.
-
He will break another record if this stays the same. Anyone take a guess?
Most cups of coffee consumed to stay awake?
-
Liverpool gifted a 2 goal lead yet still pegged back by our Foxy relegation rivals.
-
sanchez does a cleverly
-
Ah but according to Paul the man Lambert, who does not need an assistant, Jack needs to earn his place. Weimann and Gabby clearly do that every week.
-
Leicester score twice in 2 mins to make it 2-2 Klanfield.
-
Commentator: "Girlish!"
-
Robinson please
-
I'd have rather had Grealish on for Weimann.
I'd have preferred Grealish on for Cleverley AND Weimann.
Is Weimann still on the pitch?
-
You know this is going to end up the same as last season.......
-
Is this the Dortmund model?
bet Dortmund models have hairy armpits
-
I couldn't give away a ticket in Witton Lane for this. I can see why.
-
It can't be easy for Lambert, what with Alan Pardew being paraded like that.
-
I'd have rather had Grealish on for Weimann.
I'd have preferred Grealish on for Cleverley AND Weimann.
Is Weimann still on the pitch?
Yep, same number of touches as one of the advertising hoardings.
-
Can see why Bacuna has not been seen much
-
We are awful, but honestly, Palace are even worse.
-
Leicester score twice in 2 mins to make it 2-2 Klanfield.
*cheers up ever so slightly*
-
Is it as bad as the Scottish Manager?
-
He will break another record if this stays the same. Anyone take a guess?
Most cups of coffee consumed to stay awake?
Close. Be the first time a team have been last on Motd three times in a row.
-
FFS Villa players waiting for the ball to come to them, whilst the Palace players harrass them, show some fuckin urgency and desire!
-
Sunderland equalise against the moneybags.....
-
this really is awful stuff, I just want to wake up from the nightmare that is watching Villa in the last few years, but you know that no matter how dire things are or are going to get he's still going to be in charge, that nothing is going to change, the blindingly obvious things the team is missing ain't going to change. I want to cry.
-
We are awful, but honestly, Palace are even worse.
But you still get the feeling they will win!
-
He will break another record if this stays the same. Anyone take a guess?
Most cups of coffee consumed to stay awake?
Close. Be the first time a team have been last on Motd three times in a row.
We are going to be so far down the running order, we'll be halfway through the Football League Show
-
Is it as bad as the Scottish Manager?
It's worse. It has been for some time; perhaps the last two seasons.
-
Is it as bad as the Scottish Manager?
Much much worse. He makes Mcleish feel like Guardiola
-
Sorry but a player of his quality should be hitting the target from there.
-
There was a chance.
-
need to put them away
-
I think I enjoyed McLeish's football more than this.
-
There was the chance. Missed.
-
A minute's standing ovation from the crowd in recognition of that shot on goal.
-
Is it as bad as the Scottish Manager?
Much much worse. He makes Mcleish feel like Guardiola
Thats bad.
-
I think I enjoyed McLeish's football more than this.
The only thing that makes this season not as bad as the McLeish one is the fact that I paid over 600 quid for a season ticket to watch that shite.
-
Other scores not really going our way so a win would be nice and a draw essential. Looking over our shoulders 4 seasons in a row boosts osteopaths' businesses treating cricked necks.
-
If you look close, there are two big white rectangles at each end of the pitch. There's a net attached to them.
What are they for..?
-
That was never a foul. Looked like Gayle held Clark
-
What the fuck was that from Guzan?
-
Gary MacAllister commentating on BT. Why didn't we stick with him? Seem to remember he had a decent win record...
-
Sanchez really stands out as our only decent player today, at the heart of everything
but thats not saying a lot
-
If you look close, there are two big white rectangles at each end of the pitch. There's a net attached to them.
What are they for..?
for hanging Lambert up in
-
If you look close, there are two big white rectangles at each end of the pitch. There's a net attached to them.
What are they for..?
Decoration. They take them down to mark the start of summer and put them up again to mark it's end.
-
15 minutes to endure.
-
How's Jack doing?
-
I'd completely forgotten Weimann was playing.
Lets get Joe Cole on, he could just about manage 15 minutes.
-
Benteke is getting extremely frustrated.
-
How's Jack doing?
Already done more than Gabby and Weimann.
-
I'd completely forgotten Weimann was playing.

this

How's Jack doing?
Already done more than Gabby and Weimann.
And Cleverly
In fact all 3 of them together
-
Benteke is getting extremely frustrated.
He should try being us...
-
How is Clark being booked for that!!! Gayle has an ability to hit the floor!
-
How's Jack doing?
He's positive at least, but he's just not getting the ball enough. I think if anyone comes up with something it's going to be him or Benteke.
-
can see the Beast getting sent off, if his frustration grows
-
They are supposed to be in the entertainment business. Is this what comes of having a banker running things? Spend little, do the minimum possible, change nothing.
-
Benteke is getting extremely frustrated.
along with 30,000 others. this is absolute mince
-
Gabby in a nutshell there.
-
palace no shots on target, you know what is coming
-
Fucking hell, Gabby is awful at times.
-
On the break ball played in for Gabby and his first touch is literally so hard it passes straight to them. This "new" style is even fucking worse than the old one.
-
There must be some sort of criteria or circumstances for Lambert to get sacked. This is garbage.
-
Although he's been far more involved than the dreadful two up front(don't even need to mention their names) Bacuna has had a shocker.
-
One of the worst touches by a Premier League player you will ever have seen from Gabby there.
-
we are absolute garbage
-
That was wank from Gabby and then Sanchez.
-
Gabby in a nutshell there.
Well that explains why he's not running about much!
-
Palace are woeful.
-
God, this is truly awful. Just awful.
We are getting worse.
-
I'm actually embarrassed listening to the sky presenter saying what a fantastic day of goals it has been in the Premier League.
-
Gabby in a nutshell there.
No wonder he does nothing.
-
We really are woeful.
-
the worse Villa team in a long long time
-
Fucking hell, Gabby is awful at times. most of the time
-
It is like Lambert has synthesised pure shitness in a lab and injected the results in to my eyes.
-
the worse Villa team in a long long time
On paper it is not though. They just look like clueless strangers with no plan on the field.
-
As i type Hull,Leicester,Burnley and Sunderland have all scored twice , yet under this clueless idiot we cant even score once
-
I think today has also shown why we generally only see Bacuna for 5-10 minutes at the end of games. Not good enough at all. Well, well below the level required.
-
God, this is truly awful. Just awful.
We are getting worse.
this
-
the worse Villa team in a long long time
On paper it is not though. They just look like clueless strangers with no plan on the field.
so the manager needs to go
-
Palace are woeful.
So what does that say for Villa, even worse
-
So with about 8 minutes left, Cole comes on. Words fail me.
-
The trouble is Lambert doesn't believe anythings wrong. He's of the belief things will suddenly click into place.
-
I would have given Cole 20 minutes. Not 8.
-
thank fook weimann is off
-
I'm at the point where even if we score a late winner I'll still somehow be annoyed because of all that preceded it
-
Fourth game in five we won't have scored.
-
Grealish for Cleverley & Cole for Weimann to try to break them down, surely?
Part one occurs.
I may as well take over from Lambert. Cheaper and quicker to act.
-
I think we are excellent!
-
a bit of decent footy with cole and grealsih on the pitch
-
Come on Cole!
-
BBC London - "No-one deserves to win"
-
Can we sub Gabby now.
-
we wont see a goal until 2016 at this rate
-
Att 29,047
-
Premier League wouldn't really miss us, would it?
-
I think we are excellent!
The bookies stopped taking money on him proclaiming our excellence a long, long time ago.
When is someone going to point out that the emperor is stark naked?
-
Fourth game in five we won't have scored.
BBC radio just said Villa have the lowest goals scored in the Football League, another Lambert record
-
Erm.... on the basis of the sending offs we have had that should have been a red.
-
but he is an excellent Emperor
-
what a credit to the prem , these two are
-
Need to make this count.
-
Is it the 21st January where statistically more people kill themselves than at any other time? Think that might be bought forward this year.
-
I don't think this will make it to tonights MOTD
-
Att 29,047
And that's not taking into account those that aren't there yet have tickets.
-
Can we ask the General why PL waited until the end to bring on Cole?
-
bacuna to get lambert out of jail
-
Not quite.
-
Can we sub Gabby now.
We would be down to ten men. But Gabby is a sort of minus 2 factor, so hell yeah.
-
save
-
3-3 at St James's O_O
-
barry bannan must be thinking WTF has happened to villa
-
must have dozed off there
-
Jacks very good at drawing fouls.
-
Yesterday I bought tickets myself, a Manc friend and a Canadian friend for whom Villa - Liverpool will be his first ever footballing experience. I obviously don't like my friends very much.
-
Spinnoni really made a meal of Bacuna's freekick it must be said.
-
Bannan will no doubt provide a highly ironic accurate cross for Gayle's injury time winner.
-
stands emptying , not many boo@s then
-
Surely the 'Lambert can't do any better under the current conditions' doesn't apply to this.
-
Here comes the drink driver. Little twat.
-
Today's excuse. 'Its always tough when you're up against a team trying to impress a new manager so I thought we done great to keep a clean sheet.'
-
Lambert must be setting a record for the most Villa matches last on MOTD
-
Can we sub Gabby now.
We would be down to ten men. But Gabby is a sort of minus 2 factor, so hell yeah.
That was my thinking I've seen better movement from a plastic bag blown on the pitch.
-
On this performance, Sanogo would actaully be a good option!
-
I've never seen Chris Kamara look so sad covering a game.
-
the irony, Bannan comes on to Villa Park in a Brazil kit
-
I've never seen Chris Kamara look so sad covering a game.
Unbelievable
-
I think refs should allow us to play on when we're offside, it would be a big help
-
Put this limping dog of a game out of it's misery.
-
Att 29,047
And that's not taking into account those that aren't there yet have tickets.
That's SOTC and me!
-
Sanchez just did what we failed to do last season wehn they broke away. Dump him on his ass.
-
Shit!
-
Totally and utterly flaccid.
-
LAMBERT THAT WAS GARBAGE - GET OUT OF OUR CLUB !!!!!!!!!
-
dreadful
-
Good point
-
Absolute shit ...
-
What a load of rubbish
