Available Sunday afternoon.
-
VILLA: Given, Hutton, Collins, Baker, Lichaj, Bannan, Gardner, Clark, Ireland, Weimann, Agbonlahor.
-
Subs: Guzan, Johnson, Delfouneso, Heskey, N'Zogbia, Cuellar, Carruthers
-
3 centre backs ? or Clark in midfield
-
United team vs Villa: De Gea, Rafael, Evans, Ferdinand, Evra, Valencia, Carrick, Scholes, Young, Rooney, Welbeck
Subs: Amos, Jones, Berbatov, Giggs, Hernandez, Nani, Cleverley
-
Clark midfield replacing Herd.
I like that team, that's what I'd have picked.
-
Clark in midfield i assume
-
Cuellar should be playing. Other than that it's alright.
-
Think it will be Clark,Gardner and Bannan as a 3, with Ireland playing in front of them. Gabby and Weimann upfront.
-
Bannan and Gabby wide with a midfield three is what I expect.
Is Cuellar unfit then?
-
It feels like lambs to the slaughter Im dreading this :(
-
I worry about Hutton facing Young, in fact i just worry about Hutton...
-
Fuck it. Nothing to lose. Come on me babbies!
-
No one's giving us a chance. Let's prove 'em wrong.
-
I worry about Hutton facing Young, in fact i just worry about Hutton...
Don't we all. There will be a few penalty appeals concerning him I'm sure.
-
Has Ash dived yet?
-
Skybet is offerings odds of 160/1 for Gabby to score first and the game to end 1 - 1 if anyone is interested.
-

i can definitely see a red card at some stage
-
Cuellar and N'Zogbia should be in the starting XI.
I think we'll line-up in a 4-2-3-1 like this:
Given
Hutton Collins Baker Lichaj
Gardner Clark
Bannan Ireland Agbonlahor
Weimann
-
7 out of the starting 11 are home grown.
-
Listening to some early The Cure, so in a good mood and feeling highly optimistic.
We are going to twat these plastic wankers, Gabby will make their defence his bitches as usual, Rooney will be sent off for being a twat and Young sent off for diving. 4-1 to Villa.
-
We can all hope for a result but more important is the attitude and performance. I like the team. We all feared long ball to Heskey today so I'm glad he's gone with Andi and Gabby. We have nothing to lose and all to gain. The results below us have gone quite well, so let's go out and just play.
-
Strange that Cuellar and N'Zogbia are on the bench when we're down to the bone on numbers. At least he wasn't tempted to start Heskey.

Nearly, that's how we should line up but I don't think there's any chance that McLeish will do that.
McLeish will play a flat 4 in midfield with Bannan right and Gardner left, I'd put money on it. We'll also end up with the pair of them, and one of weimann or gabby, playing so deep that we will be closer to 6-3-1

Maybe they aren't fit enough to go 90 minutes?

Yes, I agree. I don't mind losing if we come out of it with some praise for our youngsters who have knocked it about well and given it a go. They can really learn from a match like this and the one ray of sunshine for me in this awful season is that we can go into next year with some of the kids having got themselves a little used to life in the Premier League

Love it.

I like how us not playing 442 is apparently negative. Someone should tell Barca that they line up negatively because they don't play 442..
-
I am not convinced by Clark in midfield but I hope I am wrong he will be a great centre-half/captain

Thanks weatherman. I usually watch on First Row Sports (http://www.firstrowsports.eu/watch/119205/1/watch-manchester-united-vs-aston-villa.html) but your link looks better quality

Cuellar and Nzogbia should be playing with Hutton and Bannan on the bench.
I'd understand not playing Cuellar if we were safe seeing as he is off in the summer. But we aren't and Hutton is muck.
Some show of faith in his £10m signing.
To have any chance our midfield trio need to at least break even with the guy going on 40 and the even less mobile Carrick. You would have to wonder how fit Clark is. Big chance for Gardner. Kind of game he needs to make an impression in. He better not be on the left.
Both our full backs are on red card watch today. Huge test for Lichaj.

Echo the Gardner statement. Really hoping to see a big performance from him today.
-
R5 just ran a Pat Murphy/Andi Weimann interview, the lad speaks well, sounds like Arnie!
-

People on here desperately dig for a reason to hate McLeish, nothing out of the ordinary.
Not that I'm his biggest fan, but he's certainly become a 'can do no right' character.

I meant the lads in the Sky studio saying it.
-
Not long now, hope we step outside of ourselves and put in a sterling performance.
Hope Gabby hits his sweet spot and runs them ragged.
C'mon you Villa boys, the nation expects.
-
Just thinking back to 2 and 3 seasons ago. I actually felt like we had a chance of doing something. Last minute winner for them and a brilliant win for us. I would be very surprised if its close today.
-
It's going to take some of these kids to have a positive environment at the club to properly come of age and be noticed. Too much other noise in my opinion hasn't helped their development at first team level. They also need senior players around them that are not oly more talented but have the rught attitude to be supporting influences. It's way too much to ask them to do it on their own. This is PL football, and it is ruthless at the top level. While today is great thinking we have all these kids coming through, it is also a sadindictment on where we are as a club at the first team level as much as it is a compliment to our academy system.

Ah, my bad. I still stand by my point though.
-
4-5-1 is the way forward, with the right people in certain positions.
Warnock added to the wounded then, and Herd.
We are nearly as low on numbers as we were under Houllier playing United, but less quality in the senior players. Could be a long old afternoon.

Some folks can't see A Forest for the trees.
-
Can only assume that he's making sure Cuellar/N'Zogbia are right for the two home games.
-
My God the Villa fans look depressed already
-
Right then, here we go chaps. Feeling brave?

While I agree with you, he's not helped himself in what he's done this season or by much of what he's said. Even if in his heart he knows we are not good enough right now, his attitude should still be one of "fuck it let's have a go anyway". That tactic would win us games against most teams in this league. Too often you felt he waved the white flag in his pre-match interviews, with his team selection and in his excuses. I'll put it on record that I want the man to succeed and be the best Villa manager of all time, and get the better of his critics. However, it all starts with him, not us.
-
Our lowest premier league points total is 42, well done McLeech, seems that you're going to set another new record for the club, along with least number of home wins in a season in more than a century!
Matt Kendrick interviewed on R5 spoke very well about his failings and shoved down the 'He came from B-Lose' argument!
Even the R5 commentators are calling us Aston Vanilla, and that detestable little Welsh (I can say that, I'm Welsh!) twat Savage needs sorting out!
-
Can only assume that he's making sure Cuellar/N'Zogbia are right for the two home games.
That said, this is Man Utd, we go down badly and the knock on effect could be a disaster, we should put our best possible side out, this is precisely the kind of thing that bothers me about McLeish, its that pick the game you can win gamble and raise the white flag for this one, sure Wigan didn't have that way of looking at it.
-
We're going to win. Lol.
-
I don't have an issue with the media to be honest. You get wha you deserve and they are going talk about the popular topics and ridicule those that warrant it. Right now it's painful to hear, but as club we are getting little or no press because frankly we're irrelevant, and nothing more than a sideshow. It's much easier to slam fans for being anti-McLeish for his blues connection than examine the facts. They are given us less than 15 seconds and it's about as deep into the plight of Villa as they want to go.
-

Excellent link, hope it stays for the duration. Better than I get down the pub.

I completely understand and agree that he's got himself into this situation, and that he has made plenty of mistakes and been a complete arse for many months, though we have by no means helped him. I still think at times we've played good football, or at least tried, and that once he's had time to bring in his own players we could be a good side again.
Recently he seems to have woken up, and is getting a bit more wise with his tactics and substitution, and I feel like if we gave 'Eck a chance he could do well for us.
-
This is where our superior goal difference largely goes up in smoke.
-

He's probably picked our best fit side. What else can he do apart from risk players who aren't fit?
Imagine the shit he'd get if he picked Carlos and after 5 minutes he's out for the rest of the season because he does his injury again.
-
Still 0-0.
-
C'mon you lions.
-
The Mr-T haircut appears to have become popular with some premier league footballers.
-
C'mon you lions.
Shh, minutes silence, have some respect.
-
Early chance by the sounds of it. Come on you Lions!!!!
-
good chance there
-
One shot on goal more than i expected.
-
Good start!
-
Good chance that, just needed a bit more bosh on the shot, going across the keeper was right.
Nice movement though, and fantastic ball from Ireland.
-
1 in 19 for Gabby. Spending far too much time with Heskey!
-
Great block that Ash.
-
Agent Young
-
Young still thinks he plays for us then.
-
Penalty ffs.
-
ManUre penalty, quel surprise!
-
Young still thinks he plays for us then.
Errr....no. The diving ******.
-
And of course it's Young going over.
-
fucking diver
-
Oh Ash why dive against us.
-
Diving bastard
-
What did Eck say he told the players about Young in the box?
-
Game fucking over.
-
Cheating fucker young!
-
Disgusting dive. Game over
-
oh fuck off you horrible cheating little bastard
-
Divning fucking ******.
-
Game over I fear. We needed the first goal.
-
Halsey strikes again- Young cheat
-
Early dive to con Halsey
-
It begins......
Fucking diver.
Thought better of him. What a cheat.
-
What's the point, we're doomed.
-
Hutton completely at fault. Defenders havent fallen for that dummy by Young for years.
-
Terrible he was looking for that the cheating little git, and why are we shadow boxing with them, get stuck in ffs
-
Well I won't be giving Young any more good receptions when he comes back to Villa Park. Twat.
-
Ashley Young = 9.9. The little fucker.
-
1-0 to Halsey. And I thought Dowd was bad
-
Good to see Young is still a diving little twat. Disgrace to any shirt he wears. Someone should snap the bastard in half.
-
Halsey can see it, yet still gives it
-
If there was ONE thing we couldn't do, it was concede early. We are going to get battered here fellas.
-
Can't believe I clapped the prick when he came back to Villa park in December. He can fuck right off now.
-
Record defeat on it's way?
-
Got to say, kind of ironic (the dive)
-
Well, if there was ever any doubt that Ashley "Diving ******" Young doesn't give a flying fuck about Aston Villa and should be booed mercilessly the next time he comes to Villa Park then that dispells them.
-
what is the point of people watching this when the ref decides who wins
-
That was a bad decision. But then Mark Halsey is the ref, and I have never seen him give a 50/50 decision for the Villa.
Hutton was the real culprit though, totally skinned without even making a challenge.
We should request Halsey does not do our games, I have said this before a few times, he is a total farce of a ref.
-
Young still thinks he plays for us then.
Errr....no. The diving c***.
If you leave your leg out in the box then you are asking for trouble.
-
What a detestable wanker Ash is.
-
Savage redeems himself, dive not a pen he says. Halsey couldn't wait to give it could he?
-
Young is getting a real reputation as a cheat and deservedly so- halsey is and always has been a joke of a referee.
-
Disgusting little cheat, that's the end of any respect for the diving little twat
-
I always thought he was the kind of player that the fans of other teams hate. Diving littl Cnut. The irony is he didnt even need to dive, he'd already beaten Clark.
-
Rooney has scored nine penalties this season.
Probably the least surprising statistic of the day.
-
Good to asee some hard tackles going in. Exactly the response we need.
-
You know what you are going to get when you go up there. Like it was at Anfield for a hundred years. Every ref gets conned. Young is doing what he's paid to do, and con the ref if he needs to. It's massively disappointing but should we really be that surprised?
-
Those saying he left a leg out, he visible withdrew his leg as much as possible to still be standing up at the end, and Ash just made sure his foot hit Clark. Even if it had not, it was planted ready to dive over.
-
Halsey can see it, yet still gives it
Halsey couldn't fucking wait to give it.
-
As they said on the radio "you know what Ashley Young is like."
We do indeed. His diving annoyed me when he was with us, it annoys the living fuck out of me now.
-
Young you are mug...
-
It's massively disappointing but should we really be that surprised?
Oh I'm not surprised, but I hated the diving little shit when he kept doing it in a Villa shirt. I just hate cheats.
-
As they said on the radio "you know what Ashley Young is like."
We do indeed. His diving annoyed me when he was with us, it annoys the living fuck out of me now.
Same here.
-
Young truly is a little shit. I don't know what's worse - him doing that or the fuckin refs who keep giving him the decisions.
-
collins become a legend break the cheating bstards legs
-
Odious little prick
-
Ball then from Ireland was almost given with a message, fucking move Gabby. The right ball if he had been on the move already.
-
We shouldn't be surprised, Young's career has always included diving at every opportunity.
We should have known any contact in the area on him with this ref will be a penalty.
Odds on more than one today???
-
Young you are mug...
no, the ref is the mug
-
Afternoon chaps, hows it going?
-
It's one thing putting your leg out, but another searching for it and running into it.
He'll be diving into council slabs in his later years.
-
Ireland has great vision.
-
Afternoon chaps, hows it going?
Ashley Young has replaced Tom Daley in the Olympic diving
-
They might sit back on their early lead.......drop really deep and then concede an equaliser in the last few minutes......to a set piece.....perhaps a corner
Oh no sorry that's what we do isn't it g'rrrrrr
-
Afternoon chaps, hows it going?
Really well Ferg!
-
If you leave your leg out in the box then you are asking for trouble.
What's he supposed to do with his leg? Unscrew it and lay it on the floor?
-
Ashely Young...in the box...with the ball...Oh bollocks!!
Ashley Young is diving on the green, diving on the green, diving on the green.
-
Afternoon chaps, hows it going?
As badly as you'd have expected! Afternoon.
-
Seriously someone break his leg, might teach the twat a lesson
-
Halsey was close by and saw it clearly- for that decision he should be demoted to the blue square- nothing pisses me off more than cheats!
-
I wish with Ireland in this role Bent was fit. I reckon he would be in a few times a game.
Young does this role like he is shot. It is amazing refs are not wise to him by now.
-
I thought I was being hard done by having to watch it in a McDonalds in Sleaford....
-
Despite what happened with the penalty, we've actually played better than I thought. No question of effort (for a change).
-
Why are we standing of them so much surely they have rehearsed this looking at the Wigan game
-
Halsey was close by and saw it clearly- for that decision he should be demoted to the blue square-
Fuck off! We don't want him at Tamworth.
-
More of that please, Ireland.
If we can't get any points, the least I'd like to see is Young having lumps kicked out of him.
-
Ball watching again wtf
-
Watching this I think I'm reaching the view that I'm fed up with the Premier league. Wouldnt it be great to go into matches where there is a good chance we might win, home or away. I've forgotten what that feels like.
-
Seriously someone break his leg, might teach the twat a lesson
Bit much.
-
There should be a rule which made it possible to suspend players guilty of diving based on video evidence.
-
Seriously someone break his leg, might teach the twat a lesson
Bit much.
Just a little.
-
You'll still get 'pundits' saying there was 'contact'. He dived. End of story.
-
Just a little.
-
could we at least attempt a pass out of defense? I knew what it would be like Collins first touch was to launch it under no pressure
-
Seriously someone break his leg, might teach the twat a lesson
Bit much.
Just a little.
Neck?
-
Fergie loves playing against us, I loved his article about how much of a 'remarkable' job McLeish is doing, just knowing they are going to turn us inside out today.
Still I bet our manager and owner were buzzing! When Fergie says your doing a good job Alex he's taking the piss you fookin numpty!
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17713400 (http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17713400)
'Remarkable' - remarkably crap.
-
Just a little.
Agreed - maybe just his foot?
-
How many goals will it take to sack AM?
LEt's be honest after M£n Shitty winning like they did yesterday, Man U need a lot of goals.
-
Gabby has looked very poor all season. ~Has he given up with Villa?
-
Push the fuck out Villa.
-
Despite what happened with the penalty, we've actually played better than I thought. No question of effort (for a change).
Shouldn't have said anything...
-

Neck?
Just a cheeky little dig in the weddding tackle would suffice !!!
-
How many goals will it take to sack AM?
More wishful thinking from our ever-growing band of uber-pessimists?
-
How rubbish are we?
-
I reckon they'll score 4 goals.
-
Baker is having a decent game, seems to be positioning himself well so far.
Another near post flick lost. Why do we never have a big man on the front post FFS???
-
I think I might actually take losing 2-0 at the moment.
-
From the Guardian Minute by Minute:
"Since a penalty is awarded for a foul committed in the penalty area, then surely to receive a penalty a player has to be fouled," begins Andrew Mullinder. "When did 'contact' constitute a foul in and of itself? Young was touched, and dived. But commentators and journalists justified it by saying there was 'contact'. There was, but so? Are there now separate 'penalty rules' that bear no relation to the normal rules of fouls? A cynic might say that it's something to do with playing at Old Trafford, but since I'm not a cynic I shall leave that unsaid."
I was trying to get the words myself, but this sums it up for me.
-

The most infuriating thing is that almost everyone knows he talks up opponents only when they're doing shit, yet Lerner has probably framed it and put it on his office wall.
-
Well we're still on for my pre-match prediction of a 4-1 win. Come on you Lions!
-
Well we are getting battered here, can't say I'm surprised.
-

More wishful thinking from our ever-growing band of uber-pessimists?
Wishful? Of course.
Pessimist? No. Realist. This is our worst season in Premiership history. And worst manager.
-
they could have had 4 already
-
Man Utd look good.
-
We need GG and CC to get into the game more. It's passing them by. Hutton, Collins and Baker have all made some great last ditch tackles.
-
This is really painful to watch
-
I'd settle fir losing by 4 goals but I suspect it will be far worse.
-
All over us, if you give Man U that area around the 18yd box and they will take you to task.
We need to get out and get in there, just don't get it.
-
Good effort.
-
Ok we've got injuries but this will show the world just what has become of us under AM. Makes me wanna fucking cry it really does...

Indeed, contact seems to be enough these days, even if it's only contact because the attacker stuck his leg out to get it.

Awful place! An hour ago, I was literally 5 minutes away at my Mum's house. Now on train to London.

Wishful? Of course.

Yes I know, but I'm hoping we can somehow claw back a goal and get a result.
You are hoping we get twatted so you can shout McLeish Out a bit more.
There's the difference.
-
Young needs a very, very hard tackle going in. Nothing dirty. Just hard.
-
Ok we've got injuries but this will show the world just what has become of us under AM. Makes me wanna fucking cry it really does...
Really? We're not looking great, but after 27 minutes we're 1-0 down, away from home to the team who are top of the league, and they had to blatantly cheat to get their goal.
I'm not sure that this is the great humiliation that you imagine it is.

Only after McCrapmanager has sent it to him...

Young fouled Bannan about 3 times then FFS Halsey, useless knob.
We have to complain about this bloke, and get him struck off our games.

I was trying to get the words myself, but this sums it up for me.
Indeed, contact seems to be enough these days, even if it's only contact because the attacker stuck his leg out to get it.
There is a codicil though, it depends entirely what team the attacker is playing for!
-
How many times do we have to be fouled before we get a free kick ffs
-
Fucking Hell, was Mark Halsey going to get down and rub that better for Scholes?
-
Now he has ordered the ball out of play for Scholes. Certainty that if that were a Villa player, there would have been no such thing.
-
I suspect that this is our last league fixture at Old Trafford for sometime, but we might as well save time and money and just concede this match 3-0 rather than play it.
-
Young fouled Bannan about 3 times then FFS Halsey, useless knob.
We have to complain about this bloke, and get him struck off our games.
Not saying this ref is cheating but does anyone thing it's possible that refs are taking bungs?
-
How many goals will it take to sack AM?
More wishful thinking from our ever-growing band of uber-pessimists?
Wishful? Of course.
Pessimist? No. Realist. This is our worst season in Premiership history. And worst manager.
Yes I know, but I'm hoping we can somehow claw back a goal and get a result.
You are hoping we get twatted so you can shout McLeish Out a bit more.
There's the difference.
Oh really? Is that what I'm thinking? Thanks for letting me know. He I was thinking that I'd love to win today but wondering if we did in fact lose if a large enough defeat would get AM the sack.
But thank you for filling me in on my thoughts.
-
I suspect that this is our last league fixture at Old Trafford for sometime, but we might as well save time and money and just concede this match 3-0 rather than play it.
There's next season to look forward to.
-
I suspect that this is our last league fixture at Old Trafford for sometime, but we might as well save time and money and just concede this match 3-0 rather than play it.
Are they moving ground then? Maybe nearer to their home fans at Wembley?
-
I suspect that this is our last league fixture at Old Trafford for sometime,
Why? Are they moving?
-
I think they do yes Fergal, for certain. However, this fucker just hates the Villa. Never seen him ref a game fairly for us.
-
Gosh, Gabby is so crap again.
-
Anyone want to fucking move and help Weimann out?
-
Making us look daft at the minute.
-
Has Gabby touched the ball yet? I don't think i've heard his name mentioned on the radio commentary since they announced the line-ups.
-
fuck me gab liven up
-
It is bad enough watching it without having to listen to the Sky commentary.
I have stuck on The Smiths and feel instantly better.
-
One or two appear to be hiding a bit.
-
They are taking the piss out of us now
-
Ok we've got injuries but this will show the world just what has become of us under AM. Makes me wanna fucking cry it really does...
Really? We're not looking great, but after 27 minutes we're 1-0 down, away from home to the team who are top of the league, and they had to blatantly cheat to get their goal.
I'm not sure that this is the great humiliation that you imagine it is.
I've just seen Carrick take players on and look good. It doesn't get more humiliating than that.
-

Not a great humiliation just how far we have fallen...not just this specific game
-
Our players get tackled very easily

Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now?
-
Gabby has absolutely given up, his body language is astonishing Wiemann had a right old go at them.
This team is utterly disorganized.
-
FFS Gabby
-
If we were a nag in The National they'd have shot us by now.
-
Fucking dreadful Gabby.
-
Needs repeating that Gabby has been shit all season.
-
Worryingly our bloody captain is one, what an inspired choice he was.
Why are Villa games always one way bloody traffic.
-
Young fouled Bannan about 3 times then FFS Halsey, useless knob.
We have to complain about this bloke, and get him struck off our games.
Not saying this ref is cheating but does anyone thing it's possible that refs are taking bungs?
been going on for ages
-
Gabby is having the worst game I have seen him have.
-
We are horrendous.
-
Ball watching ball watching and yet more ball watching
-
we are getting battered to fuck, but our goal is leading a bit of a charmed life.
-
Gabby is so out of form i'd be thinking of picking Heskey ahead of him.
-
fuck me gab liven up
I read that as "give up" then...
-
Suffer Little Children.

Can we just wave the white flag now and be done with it?

I'm just wondering how many it would take!
At no point have I insinuated that I want my football team to lose heavily.
Suggesting so come from the mind of someone as extreme as those he complains about. Christ
-
Gabby is so out of form i'd be thinking of picking Heskey ahead of him.
Can't we just play with 10 men instead?
-
Man Utd should be appalled they should be 4 or 5 up by now.
-
How many times do we want to give the ball away for nothing? If we kept possession for a couple of minutes it would help.
-
This is like Rocky 3 where he fights Mr T. Just let them tire themselves out, then in round 12 we will start attacking and passing. Very clever plan Alex, very clever!
-
It is bad enough watching it without having to listen to the Sky commentary.
I have stuck on The Smiths and feel instantly better.
Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now?
Randy Lerner - I Started Something I Couldn't Finish
-
They have 12.
-
Savo!
-
Terrible break.
-
Gabby fucked up the 3 on 2 then.
-
I fancied us for a draw beforehand, I no longer do.
We are very poor with the ball, Ireland aside, and too weak without it. GG looks a little out of his depth I'm very sorry to say.
-
Gardner needs a bucket of cold water throwing over him - very, very poor
-
Unloveable
-
Gabby's playing like he's Heskey
-
Gabby is so out of form i'd be thinking of picking Heskey ahead of him.
Can't we just play with 10 men instead?
At least Heskey never stops trying, even if he is crap & slow these days.
-
Gabby has no confidence whatsoever. Blunt, toothless.
-
Villa player gets the ball and there as least 2 Man Utd players straight on him, they've learnt from Wigan anyway
-
There are UTD fans wearing half UTD half Villa scarves, please tell me there is another reason for this, than they just enjoy playing us?
Am I missing something?
Come on Villa!!
-
We are so crap its almost untrue, can't keep the ball, can't win the ball, just awful.
If we can hold it to 3 or 4 it will be the best we can expect.
-
How many goals will it take to sack AM?
More wishful thinking from our ever-growing band of uber-pessimists?

Dude, calm down a bit. Look at the last line. I was asking if that's what you meant, I do think that if we let 11 in he would not get sacked.
-
Suffer Little Villa Fans
-
Gabby has no confidence whatsoever. Blunt, toothless.
I think he's give up, so very sad to see a player that can be so much better play like this.
-
FFS Gabby and then Gardner. The way he turned back then and played it back was almost like he could not be bothered at all. Look the other end at Lichaj, Baker, Clark, Weimann battering themselves for the cause, you wonder if the Villa through and through means as much as is made out with Gabby. Far too many games when he looks like he really can't be arsed or is out and out sulking about something (usually out wide)
-
Collins must the least intelligent footballer in the game. He has no fucking finesse whatsoever. WHACK !!!!!!!!!!
-
I can only base things on comments on here and the radio commentary but seems to me GG and Gabby need to be taken off at HT. It's still only 1-0 right now, a result is still there for the taking.
-
Do you think a Villa fan could reach the pitch if he threw a towel?
-
Gabby couldn't trap his finger in a door. He normally likes the big occasion as well.
-
Our passing and ball retention is woeful.
-
It is bad enough watching it without having to listen to the Sky commentary.

They seem to be popular for all games these days, and I just don't get it. For a non-league club in a cup tie against a big club, yes. For two PL clubs who play each other all the time??

Commenting that you want Gabby off and Heskey on is more out of order than wanting Youngs legs broken :)
-
Gabby is having a mare
-
Robbie Savage just said something on Radio 5Live that I actually agreed with, what is the world coming to.
-
Seriously, captain or not, Gabby should be substituted
-

Believe me I'm calm. These Villa 'performances' have left me pretty comatose since November.
I reckon 6 goals and he's gone.
-
Panic
-
I can only base things on comments on here and the radio commentary but seems to me GG and Gabby need to be taken off at HT. It's still only 1-0 right now, a result is still there for the taking.
Quite right, both awful so far, hopefully they can turn it around
-
Utd are playing a few sloppy passes, come on Villa let's capitalise.
-
Gabby is having a mare
Something horribly wrong with Gabby here, this ain't Gabby
-
Weimann has got some of the best movement ive seen
-
Collins must the least intelligent footballer in the game. He has no fucking finesse whatsoever. WHACK !!!!!!!!!!
All i can think is that's McLeish's orders otherwise surely he would tell him not to do it
Well I don't think Collins really has the ability to pass short, it's probably a lot safer that he just clears the danger. Either way I think it's incredibly unfair to blame McLeish.
-
We need to pressure the ball more. Everytime the ball is loose a Utd player pick's it up unchallenged.
-
Bannan is obviously best buddies with Collins. Why else would he try speculative passes EVERY time?
-
Weimann has got some of the best movement ive seen
Pity we cant pick him out
-
And Gabby loses the ball for no apparent reason, again, with plenty of passes open to him...
He looks like he's being taking career tips from Luke Moore.
-
Fucking shocking defending.
-
great fooking defending
-
Horrendous defending, well done Collins.
-
Shocking defending
-
Given was friggin awful there
-
I bet man city were loving yesterday until they looked at who united were playing
-
That is fucking dire. Nbody wanted to touch it. Fucking awful.
-
That just fucking sums it up.
-
Bollocks. WTF was Collind thinking?! We are looking at 4 or 5 today at this rate
-
Without even getting out of 2nd gear we are being beaten royally.
If this team comes out second half I'm turning off.
-
Who do we blame for that?
-
Fucking hell Collins.
Interesting to see what approach we take after half time.
-
Shocking defending- get carlos on , we are heading for a hammering here.
-
Gabby is so out of form i'd be thinking of picking Heskey ahead of him.
Can't we just play with 10 men instead?
At least Heskey never stops trying, even if he is crap & slow these days.
Commenting that you want Gabby off and Heskey on is more out of order than wanting Youngs legs broken :)
*snigger*
But I am getting seriously fucked off with Gabby this season. He's done fuck all for months apart from whinge that he wants the season over. He seems totally disinterested in us at the moment.
Crap as he is, when can you ever say Heskey hasn't given his all, even if his all is a bit shit.
-
Oh crumbs!
-
How many could have cleared that?! Someone give Baker a shout! Woeful goal to concede?
How many would it take.... mmmm I reckon 8-0 and he would be gone.
-
Given and Collins both letting it go out for a goal kick, there was only one problem though...
-
That was absolutely, fucking, dire defending. We can't attack, our midfield is none existent and we can't defend. Mcleish FUCK OFF NOW YOU KNOB!
-
Do Villa have a plan B...............he does know who our manager is
-
Oh ffs - after you Claude defending
-
What the fuck was that....
-
I don't think we have looked too bad.
Look at the lack of experience in the team. What dud we expect in this fixture given the fact we have been so poor all season?
The games where we are embarrassing are those like Stoke at home with our manager celebrating a draw, not those when we are on a hiding to nothing like this one.
-
Collins should have put that in the proverbial Row Z.
-
My god we are bad.
-
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
:'(
-
Do we defend a 2 goal defeat as we have before or do we finally grow a pair and stave off the embarrassing defeat that's on the way?
-
Well AM looks quite relaxed
-
Do Villa have a plan B...............he does know who our manager is
I didn't even realise we had a Plan A.
-
It all does seem a bit spineless and directionless.
-
Agbonlahor shouldnt be in the team never mind captain, very poor half and totally predictable.
-
Premier league in name only
-
I am watching the game in McDonald's in Sleaford. What a fucking horrendous place it really is.
The behavior of the natives is appalling. They have no control over their spawn what so ever.
-
A 60 yard pass back to the goalkeeper. We're 2 nil down. Kind of sums us up. The ONLY ball he had to play was that one.
-
McLoose will be happy, they are only losing 2-0 to an ELITE team
-
A midfield of statues
-
We are awful, Gabby take yourself off, you obviously dont want to be on there.
-
Well AM looks quite relaxed
He's given up the same as Gabby, in fact I would imagine that AM team talk is "Lads go to sleep and perhaps they will do the same" "the loss won't be so bad"
-
what a load of crap, united dont even need to get out of first gear its like watching a training match
-
Do Villa have a plan B...............he does know who our manager is
To be fair I dont think we have a Plan A >:(
-
Thank god I'll be able to turn over to the FA Cup semi final soon.
-
Cunty McWankbollocks.
Is my verdict of the first half.
-
I don't think we have looked too bad.

I pretty sure that's what McLeish is thinking! but I'm sorry I cant except that at all We have a better team than Wigan but that twat will not attack anyone and thats why we will not win any games!
-
Some snotty little fucker about 7 or 8 just asked me what I am watching. Told him it's the Villa Manyoo game. He asked if I was a Manyoo fan, 'no I am a Villa fan'
'Villa? they're shit support utd'
-
I am watching the game in McDonald's in Sleaford. What a fucking horrendous place it really is.
The behavior of the natives is appalling. They have no control over their spawn what so ever.
I couldn't think of a worse way to spend my Sunday!
-
I dont think we have played too bad. Obviously we are a very good side, but If we play like this against Sunderland and Bolton I think we will do well
-
After this game I expect to hear that Ferguson has upgraded his opinion of the job that McLeish is doing from "fabulous (http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17713400)" to "world class".
Lerner will then give him a pay rise.
-
I liked the look of the line up but some of the passing has been awful.
Gabby has been shocking and what defender in their right mind let's a ball goes across their own six yard box. Shocking.
-
Some snotty little fucker about 7 or 8 just asked me what I am watching. Told him it's the Villa Manyoo game. He asked if I was a Manyoo fan, 'no I am a Villa fan'
'Villa? they're shit support utd'
Couldn't argue with him really except to tell him to go away.
-
He has to take Gabby of, really don't want to see him like this.
Lets face it it doesn't matter we've lost this, we probably won't go down but we friggin deserve to and we will nest season, we are the new Blackburn
-
I'm glad I live abroad, so I have an excuse not to go to matches. I just feel for the poor bastards who turn up every week.
What exactly is the point of watching Villa play these days?
-
When I look at it again, Halsey never points to the spot, he just points to Young...first time I thought he was going to book Young for the Dive........the Halsey looks around and realises he is at Old Trafford!!!!!
-
I hate Young. I hate the way the commentators (including a so called Villa fan) cream themselves over an average United side. But most of all I hate what this shithead of a manager has made us like as a team. Basically happy with a 2~0 loss job done.
-
Dont think I will bother with the second half, McLeish fuck off its embarrassing
-
Wonder if Fkn 'eck will wheel out "they have a totally different agenda to us" that he used when we turned the rags over.
-
Im not going to have a go at Young for diving. I'd kill to have him back at our club. I never complained when he won us games and points while he was here.
It makes me very sad watching us at the moment
-
I'm watching the game with my girlfriends united supporting brother and dad. They are pitying us fans, saying they have never had an easier 45mins. I'm absolutely ashamed
-
Im watching it with my headphones on as the missus is next to me watching BBC2. `A Night to Remember` - Titanic has just disappeared, the survivors are all at sea wondering what they do next ?
-
Well AM looks quite relaxed
He probably got another written reference off Taggart before the game, which he can use when he applies for the Wolves vacancy in May.
As for Young, I hope Hutton breaks the fucker in two.
-
An early goal from a Young dive and a goal seconds before half time, how fucking predictable.
-
I hate Young. I hate the way the commentators (including a so called Villa fan) cream themselves over an average United side. But most of all I hate what this shithead of a manager has made us like as a team. Basically happy with a 2~0 loss job done.
Agree about how average the Man Utd side look, we make them look a lot better.
Mr McLeish, you have to make the right decision, you have to go now rather than later
-
Peep! Peep! Halsey ends the first half. United couldn't be more in charge if Villa were trussed up with an apple in their mouth.
The Guardian
-
Gabby should be taken off at half time and put N'zogbia on instead.
-
I hope Ash gets a fucking proper slating for that - he's a disgrace. Fat chance though.
-
This just in. Ashley Young has now qualified for the Olympic diving team. Tom Daley is shitting himself.
This despicable little weasel is a disgrace to professional football.
-
Im watching it with my headphones on as the missus is next to me watching BBC2. `A Night to Remember` - Titanic has just disappeared, the survivors are all at sea wondering what they do next ?
Let in 3 more goals?
-
I'm watching the game with my girlfriends united supporting brother and dad. They are pitying us fans, saying they have never had an easier 45mins. I'm absolutely ashamed
So sorry mate, noting worse than that with your family like that, what can you say, I can think of 2 words Alex McLeish, everybody and his uncle knows it
-
There are UTD fans wearing half UTD half Villa scarves, please tell me there is another reason for this, than they just enjoy playing us?
Am I missing something?
They seem to be popular for all games these days, and I just don't get it. For a non-league club in a cup tie against a big club, yes. For two PL clubs who play each other all the time??
I genuinely think they're aimed at the day trippers and tourists.
-
Im not going to have a go at Young for diving. I'd kill to have him back at our club. I never complained when he won us games and points while he was here.
It makes me very sad watching us at the moment
I will have a go at Young, I did when he was at Villa for diving and I will now. To do it against the club that made you shows the man has no shame.
-
Just seen the penalty ..NEVER !!! Cheating f**ker .. No respect for your ex team mates there .. thanks you c***
and the ref ,, FFS
-
And Collins can do one as well. So much for Sky saying 'Baker's mistake cost Villa' - once it got to him any touch would likely have been an own goal, Collins had an easy chance to smash it out for a corner and missed it. Collins mistake = goal conceded, how many times has that been the case?
Sadly no senior players are standing up to be counted today - especially vital that Gabby and Ireland showed the youngsters the way, but they have been less than average.
-
:'(
-
Young changed direction away from the line of the ball to run into Clark.
-
Shows what a great manager McLeish is . Gives Gabby the captaincy and hes gone backwards , doesnt seem bothered at all.
-
If there's one thing I'd change about the team is would be the ability to hold possession for more than 3 seconds. There's no composure *at all* when we have the ball in defence. We are the embodiment of low confidence and it makes good teams look great when thy play us. Let's be clear, Man Utd aren't a great team.
I expected us to lose so I've no idea why it's so galling to watch.
As for Ashley Young... all respect gone. Shame.
-
Man u are playing very well tbh. We haven't got any outlet upfront, Heskey should be playing the Gabby role, suckered for the Pen both ref and Clarke. Just keep it under 5 please !
-
Has Young got a Twitter account? Ill take prison for 3 months just to let him know what I think of the pussy.
-
There are UTD fans wearing half UTD half Villa scarves, please tell me there is another reason for this, than they just enjoy playing us?

I genuinely think they're aimed at the day trippers and tourists.
I see them far too often for my liking down VP the past couple of seasons.
-
half the team are running around like headless chickens, the other half are just chickens
-
Gabby, Garnder & Collins OFF
Heskey, N'Zogbia & Cuellar ON
Grow a pair and do it McLeish.
-
Young changed direction away from the line of the ball to run into Clark.
Looking for it, all the day long and Yorke is wrong, yes its dangerous to make contact in the box, but when a player uses his foot to find you, what are you supposed to do.
-

They are, there were loads of them at Liverpool last week.
-
Yorke on Sky saying it was a pen ..tosser
-
We are too slow and inaccurate compare to them.
Anyway No Penalty. It is DRIVE
-
Ah well just realised the grass is dry enough to cut after all!
-
I've just sent my 8 year old to play FIFA on the Nintendo and to see if he can get a result for the Villa.
He said he'd rather play as Man U.
-
One of my mate's said that Young learned that at Villa, I admitted it but replied with "Yeah, but he only got the calls for it when he put on a ManUre kit."
-
It doesnt matter who, where or how their playing when McLeish is in charge it makes no difference to be honest we've lost before we kickoff.
Watch how negative we will come out for the 2nd half
-
I've just sent my 8 year old to play FIFA on the Nintendo and to see if he can get a result for the Villa.
He said he'd rather play as Man U.
8) Sorry that's brilliant.
-
Yorke on Sky defending Young for the penalty, these previous Villa players never seem to have any respect for their old club when they go to other clubs, especially ManUre and Liverpool.
Wilkins had it right, Young needs to consider his reputation as a diver after these last two penalties.
-
Just had to ask the little bastard to stop kicking my seat, Waynetta who spawned the little shit has asked me what the problem is. Told he he was kicking my seat she just looked blank, couldn't see what the problem is.
I hate it in here but there is no other way for me to watch the game...
-
Baker to blame, as usual the youngsters not accountable for mistakes on here as it's easier to blame Collins. Baker stepped over the ball without knowing the player was behind him hoping to get a goal kick. Could have easily helped it out for a corner being left footed and with his body position. Poor defending!
-
We are too slow and inaccurate compare to them.
Anyway No Penalty. It is DRIVE
DREFITELY A DRIVE
-
Do Villa have a plan B...............he does know who our manager is
do we have a Plan A ;0
-
How about Nzogbia for Gardner, who is out of his depth and on a yellow?
-
I tell you something else ..Young was never getting the ball once he put it passed Clark he was looking for that pen
-
Baker to blame, as usual the youngsters not accountable for mistakes on here as it's easier to blame Collins. Baker stepped over the ball without knowing the player was behind him hoping to get a goal kick. Could have easily helped it out for a corner being left footed and with his body position. Poor defending!
Agree, Baker at fault
-
Half time show including Gregory, SBL and SRA. Now. McLeish... this makes me sad... shit day to join a Villa forum I guess lol
-
Yorke on Sky defending Young for the penalty, these previous Villa players never seem to have any respect for their old club when they go to other clubs, especially ManUre and Liverpool.
Wilkins had it right, Young needs to consider his reputation as a diver after these last two penalties.
Yorke is such a cock as a commentator especially where Manure are concerned
-
Well here we go 2nd half, lets what magic AM has got lined up for us, I mean 2-0 is not the end of the world....ho ho.
-
The Young penalty was what Chris Smith would politely call "drawing the referee's attention to the foul".
-
Wilkins had it right, Young needs to consider his reputation as a diver after these last two penalties.
Problem is the likes of Suarez will get booked for diving when he should have a genuine pen (good) but 'cos the likes of Halsey are scared to upset SRAlex Young will continue to dive and get decisions in his favour
-
Look at Young greeting all his ex team mates. He's got more front than Skegness.
-
There are UTD fans wearing half UTD half Villa scarves, please tell me there is another reason for this, than they just enjoy playing us?
Am I missing something?
They seem to be popular for all games these days, and I just don't get it. For a non-league club in a cup tie against a big club, yes. For two PL clubs who play each other all the time??
I genuinely think they're aimed at the day trippers and tourists.
They are, there were loads of them at Liverpool last week.
In fairness, I recall seeing VILLA VS CHELSEA scarves being sold the other day before the game, and I definitely remember us selling VILLA VS BRIGHTON scarves a few years ago when we played them in the FA Cup.
-
You see that from Young to Fonz and Cuellar and Heskey
"Lads, it was a foul"
Smile
!!!!
-
Sat next to the cat watching it on my laptop, and even the cat looks disgusted!
She has turned her back to the screen which is what she does when se is in a mood with something.
Sack McLeish he is now even upsetting my cat!
-
So no changes then?
-
1 win in 12 games now. Appalling.
-
wtf is Grant saying to McLeish. He must talk alot of bollocks.
-
Young changed direction away from the line of the ball to run into Clark.
I noticed this too from the camera angle more or less behind Young's run. Never a penalty.
Still seething at the shitehook.
-
Hang onto your seats and cover your eyes!
-

Agree, Baker at fault
Baker could've easily sent it into his own goal though. Collins is the problem for me. He didn't clear it and we are trying to keep the ball on the pitch, yet every single time he gets the ball he hoofs it. Collins, Hutton and Heskey has to go with McLeish. Can't believe how utter shit we are. Love our youths, but utter shite football. Heads needs to roll
-
Anyone think we can score?
-
The crowd is silent awaiting kick off. Smug glory hunters.
-

Seems like a daft thing to do, I can see it if clubs have a genuine affinity. But otherwise it's a bit daft.
-

1 win in 12 games now. Appalling.
Yeah what a great manager we have.
-
Anyone think we can score?
No, but I have faith that McLeish can deliver us a second half 0-0 draw.
-
Yorke on Sky defending Young for the penalty, these previous Villa players never seem to have any respect for their old club when they go to other clubs, especially ManUre and Liverpool.

Invariably those players who leave Villa for the perceived "step up" are not Villa men. Their opinions on Villa are worth bugger all.
-
Whether it was a pen or not, you know what you might get going into games like this. We should have won games against the teams at or around our level and done as much as possible against the likes of United. We're going to take the kicking we all figured we would. It certainly didn't help that they lost to Wigan and Man City battered Norwich either.
-
I wonder if this twat of a commentator has an exercise book full of snide, underhand comments about us?
-
can someone tell radio 5 especially that twat savage that we dont all support man utd and dont all want scholsey to shoot from anywhere wankers the lot of them
-
will you stop saying it was a fukin foul you cretinous moronic pricks. A player cheated to obtain a penalty kick end of.
-
First half was atrocious, even allowing for the team we have out.
I've got to say that Gabby's 1st half performance was pathetic.
-
Good to see that we've started the second half just like we played throughout the first, shite.
-

Wilkins had it right, Young needs to consider his reputation as a diver after these last two penalties.

That's because he's sniffing around looking for his first coaching job in football. Not a chance at Villa Park, Dwight, not a chance.
-
Could this commentary team be any more pathetic?
-
Sat next to the cat watching it on my laptop, and even the cat looks disgusted!
She has turned her back to the screen which is what she does when se is in a mood with something.
Sack McLeish he is now even upsetting my cat!
I've got 4 cats. I could get them to organise a protest next home game.
-
Ah the loveable old 'clumsy' Scoles knee-caps somebody else.
-
Gabby looks injured. Every cloud...
-
Bloke on Sky implying Young learnt to dive at Villa. Suppose he has a point, but not sure it should be said on TV.
Why wasn't Scholes just given a red for that high tackle on Gabby.
-
Come on Ref, if Scholes was a bit higher he wouldve missed completely...how can that be a card!1one
-
Oh good, the mule is warming up.
-
nice one Hutton ;)
-
Anyone think we can score?
No, but I have faith that McLeish can deliver us a second half 0-0 draw.
and he'll celebrate to his imaginary friend in the stand
-
Hutton takes out Young in an attempt to make a late run for Player of the Year.
-
well done hutton even though you are turd.
-
Oh good, the mule is warming up.
He can't do any worse than Gabby has done for the last few months.
-
it is a man utd wankathon but i keep screaming we are shit , karma for young
-
maybe Hutton's not so bad after all.
-
Sorry if this is the wrong place, but does anyone have a decent link to the game? Mine keeps freezing?
-
The trademark Young hop anyone? Gingerly hobbling about?
-
Poor show, Needed a bit more bash in it though, looks like he can carry on.
-
Bloke on Sky implying Young learnt to dive at Villa. Suppose he has a point, but not sure it should be said on TV.
Why wasn't Scholes just given a red for that high tackle on Gabby.
Its what Scholes does, we should sign for the MOD, and put him into Afghanistan
-
Get your bets in on Hutton getting sent off.
-
Lets face it we could have all the subs on the pitch with the first 11 and we'd still be useless.
-
Hutton takes out Young in an attempt to make a late run for Player of the Year.
Made me smile! I have 3 cats who can join the protest too....
-
Finally, Hutton makes a positive contribution
-
Only decent thing Hutton has done in a Villa shirt. Shame the cheating twat is still walking though! :(
-
For once - nice one Hutton. Don't dive next time you little shit! The cat liked it.
-
Sorry if this is the wrong place, but does anyone have a decent link to the game? Mine keeps freezing?
Sorry, all I've got is Villa and Manure :(
-
YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!
-
Sorry if this is the wrong place, but does anyone have a decent link to the game? Mine keeps freezing?

Oh good, the mule is warming up.
He can't do any worse than Gabby has done for the last few months.
Gabby has really lost his way. I'm sure McLeish thought that making him captain might kick start him. Instead he's gone backwards. One of those players that will now stagnate without a change of club or a change in manager at his current club.
-
Good lad Hutton, a thundering boot to Young's bollocks.
-
Sorry if this is the wrong place, but does anyone have a decent link to the game? Mine keeps freezing?

Honestly mate you are better off without it...
-
When was the last time we got to the byline and crossed a ball in that wasn't a hopeful diagonal one?
-
Oh good, the mule is warming up.
He can't do any worse than Gabby has done for the last few months.
The great oaf hasn't scored since August.
-
fuk off you drunk
-
a shot!
-
Someone go and get the ball from Bannans back garden
-
Hutton only did half a job. He should have seen the end to his Euro 2012 dreams.
-
Sorry but ive seen little to suggest bannan will ever make it at premier level, not good enough in my view.
-
Sorry if this is the wrong place, but does anyone have a decent link to the game? Mine keeps freezing?
http://www.firstrowsports.eu/watch/119205/1/watch-manchester-united-vs-aston-villa.html
Thanks - I had this one on, but it seems to have corrected itself.
-
We are so toothless Man United have gone into first gear and completely relaxed.
-
Bannan...........Aghhhhhhhhhhhhh 3 points to wigan (in an eddie waring voice)
-
Oh good, the mule is warming up.
He can't do any worse than Gabby has done for the last few months.
The great oaf hasn't scored since August.
If Heskey comes on and scores the winner I will wear a Blues shirt in the Holte End...

try this
-
awful...... directionless and awful...... and it's down to the management.
-
thank god rooney keeps giving it back to us
-
Laughable Halsey allows them to attack and then blows up when we get the ball.
-
ref wanker head injury and Rooney allowed to run until he gives ball away and he blows whistle
-
Have we just passing the ball???
-
So play not stopped at all for that one while United are on the attack, even for a head injury. Halsey should never ref at this level again. What a total cock.
-
WTF?! He continues play when Utd are attacking... As soon as we get possession he stops play!
Halsey = Complete and utter cnut!!
-
How on earth does Halsey get away with letting play go on while UTD have the ball but blowing up when Lichaj intercepts it. The bloke is an absolute bell end.
-
Have we just passing the ball???
Naa, it was a gull
-
ref wanker head injury and Rooney allowed to run until he gives ball away and he blows whistle
This ref is truly inept
-
Lichaj seems to have a good knack of interception passes, good positioning.
-
moyes in te crowd hmmmm maybe ?
-
ref wanker head injury and Rooney allowed to run until he gives ball away and he blows whistle
And? That's what he's supposed to do.
-
look at Faulkner I have an urge to smack him.
-
How can Halsey decide it's a head injury only when the Utd move breaks down? Cretin!
-
ref wanker head injury and Rooney allowed to run until he gives ball away and he blows whistle
Ignore everything else, he should be demoted for that, clearly knew there was a head injury, the game should've stopped straight away, probably didn't want to upset the boss though by stopping his team from breaking.
-
Seriously, fair play to everyone who has gone to Old Trafford to watch this. I doff my cap
-
When Lichaj took that throwing a few mins ago, anybody see that woman in the on the stands.....
-
Savage having a go at Halsey now, I take back what I said before about him ... well, a bit of it!
-
'Lichaj will be asked to give the ball back to United?' why dickhead we had the ball?
-
When was the last time we got to the byline and crossed a ball in that wasn't a hopeful diagonal one?
May 26th 1982.
-
look at Faulkner I have an urge to smack him.
Is he wearing blinkers?
-
What the fuck, we had the ball you twat commentator.
-
We are crap. But if this is the title winning side - its one of the poorest I've seen
-
How on earth does Halsey get away with letting play go on while UTD have the ball but blowing up when Lichaj intercepts it. The bloke is an absolute bell end.
well they might have scored and he wouldnt want to interfere with a villa player sparked out
-
Seriously, fair play to everyone who has gone to Old Trafford to watch this. I doff my cap
Indeed, they deserve better than this.
-
look at Faulkner I have an urge to smack him.
Is he wearing blinkers?
He's still trying to work out how many points we need to make a european place this season.
-
Oh good, the mule is warming up.
He can't do any worse than Gabby has done for the last few months.
The great oaf hasn't scored since August.
And Gabby hasn't scored since Nov 5th or had an assist since Dec 10th despite playing nearly every game. So I repeat, how can Heskey do any worse?
-
moyes in te crowd hmmmm maybe ?
Why on earth would he ??
-
Savage is talking a lot of sense.
-
Seriously, fair play to everyone who has gone to Old Trafford to watch this. I doff my cap
Indeed, they deserve better than this.
I tend to agree, but what did anyone honestly expect?
-
bye cheat
-
Young off - bye cheat
-
Fuck off Young you cheating little shit. Enjoy your new found rep.
-
You'll never be loved there mate. Not quite good enough.
-
Savage is talking a lot of sense.
Which is a new low
-
yeah cheers ashley fuck off now
-
Don't applaud Young to hard, the updraft will cause him to dive.
-
Our two cats also want to join the cat protest
-
Oh good, the mule is warming up.

The great oaf hasn't scored since August.

But he is better than Darren Bent....
-
How many times have we looked gutless, clueless and shit ?
This season is the Worst football ive seen from a villa team in 35 yrs watching , lerner faulkner and mcleish are making us a laughing stock!
-
Getting Young off before he does another dodgy dive
-
moyes in te crowd hmmmm maybe ?
Why on earth would he ??
Because with the right manager we can be great again? Or that Moyes is eyeing a possible future gig with the other lot.
-
Man Ushited just don't have the attacking threat they used to.
-
Yes I think anyone who said Gabby is better than Bent is nuts.
-
carlos on?
-
Why aren't we doing anything? Tactical change? Subs? ANYTHING?
-
Seriously, fair play to everyone who has gone to Old Trafford to watch this. I doff my cap
Indeed, they deserve better than this.
I tend to agree, but what did anyone honestly expect?
As if it wasn't enough to put up with the smug glory hunting wankers at the game, putting up with them as they go home down the M6 is too much.
-
Get Carruthurs or whatever he calls himself on. Nothing to lose, looked bright at Anfield... Oh fuck off Heskey.
-
Heskey on...
-
He better go near post
-
Heskey on to anchor the midfield? Oh such a perfect day.....
-
Heskey on in midfield I assume. Hope Clark is alright.
-
Would've perhaps fancied bringing on the Fonz rather than Ivanhoe.
-
moyes in te crowd hmmmm maybe ?
Why on earth would he ??
Because with the right manager we can be great again? Or that Moyes is eyeing a possible future gig with the other lot.
Why would he come here? Or why he is at OT? Evertons next opponents.
-
YYYYAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY HESKEY!!!!
YAY!
-
He better go near post
Nope
-
Poor Clarkey. And poor us with Donkey on.
-
moyes in te crowd hmmmm maybe ?
Why on earth would he ??
Or everton are playing man utd next week!
Because with the right manager we can be great again? Or that Moyes is eyeing a possible future gig with the other lot.
-
Heskey coming on to provide us with some goal threat - FFS
-
How sad that Heskey is our best option on the bench.
-
Halsey giving us a couple of decisions now the game is over.
-
It will all be alright now Lionel "Heskey" Messi is on
-
heskey header on target WTF
-
We could get a soft penalty to even them up if we ever get into their penalty area
-
And Heskey brings out the first save of the game.
-
Seriously, fair play to everyone who has gone to Old Trafford to watch this. I doff my cap
Indeed, they deserve better than this.
I tend to agree, but what did anyone honestly expect?
As if it wasn't enough to put up with the smug glory hunting wankers at the game, putting up with them as they go home down the M6 is too much.
I just respect the effort, still going despite knowing what will be served up. I haven't gone and I had the chance, I see it as a waste of a Sunday afternoon now! Shame
-
Anyone else watching on the First Row Sports link more interested in watching the cheeky Lovers ad next to it rather than the game?
-
Fucking hell that's a collectors piece, a Heskey effort on target.
-
well done tumbling bear
-
Heskeys best attempt for 8 months
-
And Heskey brings out the first save of the game.
Other than the on after 30 seconds
-
Is that our first shot on target?
If it was on target.
-
Heskey came closest to scoring we've seen all game
-
ref wanker head injury and Rooney allowed to run until he gives ball away and he blows whistle
And? That's what he's supposed to do.
blow the whistle straight away
-
It will all be alright now Lionel "Heskey" Messi is on
That's 'Messy' in his case!
-

-
GO DOWN THE FUCKING LINE FOR ONCE. Diagonal balls are a waste of time.
-
And Heskey brings out the first save of the game.
Other than the on after 30 seconds
Which according to the commentary was a very straight forward save, whereas the Heskey one was a proper save. So I probably should have said "first proper save of the game" for the pedantics.
-
Fucking hell that's a collectors piece, a Heskey effort on target.
Lets get real, it matters not who would be up front for us, we have far deeper problems, you have to deliver good chances to have strikers score.
-
ref wanker head injury and Rooney allowed to run until he gives ball away and he blows whistle
And? That's what he's supposed to do.
blow the whistle straight away
(I was being sarcastic).
;)
-
This shit today is not all the managers fault. The rest of the season is though.
-
The pedants, even.
-

*Pedants.

That'll be a fine for the players who tried to launch an attack.
-
The pedants, even.
Just look at my username and cry you PEDANTIC!
-
GO DOWN THE FUCKING LINE FOR ONCE. Diagonal balls are a waste of time.
Spud and Jasper agree
-
we are so............................................. slow
-
ooh a corner
-
ref wanker head injury and Rooney allowed to run until he gives ball away and he blows whistle
And? That's what he's supposed to do.
blow the whistle straight away
is the right answer
-
In all fairness, Lichaj is playing well. He's stopping everything......just a shame about the rest of the team. :(
-
Being pedantic is about all we have left. McLeish won't take that from us.
-
Right, sod this. I'll see you all in the post-match thread.
-
This shit today is not all the managers fault. The rest of the season is though.
Yes it is mate, there's no organisation, no direction and a total lack of belief ... that's all down to the manager!
-
So utterly retarded. Total football my arse. And there is no movement, no self confidence. Nobody wants the ball. Not sure McLeish understands what Dutch football is about.
-
we are so............................................. slow
We may be the slowest team in the entire league despite having arguably the fastest individual player.
-
ref wanker head injury and Rooney allowed to run until he gives ball away and he blows whistle
And? That's what he's supposed to do.
blow the whistle straight away
is the right answer
Sarcasm is really lost on the Internet message board.
-
Why isn't Lichaj doing his long throws ins?
-
3-0
-
That's the third, easy.
-
shambles
-
Ho hum.
-
Even Rooney has been utter shit gets about 5 minutes to pick his spot.
-
Too easy
-
Shameful, fucking shameful. I hate what we have become
-

-
McLeish Out......
Am I allowed to say that now?
-
Gotta go do some work.... Catch ya later chaps
-
So utterly retarded. Total football my arse. And there is no movement, no self confidence. Nobody wants the ball. Not sure McLeish understands what Dutch football is about.
McLeech doesn't understand what ANY fucking football is about!
-
Well, Rooney has been utter dross the whole game and has scored 2 goals.
I'm off, best of luck to the masochists amongst you.
-
Oh Mcdeary me.
-
Are you watching Randy
-
That was all down to Ireland....in the build up, he was dummied, and then just fucking stood and watched as the player ran towards our goal
-
Fuck it- im turning over to itv- cant watch anymore of this embarrassing shit today!
-
gabby is already on a beach some place. These guys don't care so long as they get their money. Look at their reaction to that cheating swine young. What has Ireland got to smile about coming off. They are a disgrace.
-
Don't know what's more worrying:
a) we're extremely shit
b) I haven't shouted at the game once, do I not care anymore?

-
Well thats it.
Again no organization, no enthusiasm from players, this is a losing team, no question, its almost pointless trying to find the problems because they are in every department starting with the manager.
-
attack attack attack attack attack ha ha
-
My God, Carruthers, a player who looks as if he wants it...
-
How much room did Wellbeck have at the start of that move? Shocking. Absolutely shocking
-
James Collins' regular ball blocking and skidding round the area on his arse are regularly touted as great defending and brave.
Great defenders don't need to botty ride their way round their own penalty area.

-
When will we all learn? We like to think they care and it means as much to them as us. It doesn't and never will.
-
Eh...Gardner is still on the pitch???
-
Are you watching Randy
He so needs to look at this because any other side looking at Villa that we have to play will feel disgusted if they can't take 3 points of us.
-
Fair play Carruthers - already done more in 30 seconds than Gardner has done all game
-
Awful reffing. If a goalie handles outside the area you don't play on.
-
So this Gary Gardner bloke then?
-
United will be happy with the points and just play on the break.
These twats on Sky are so patronising.
Gardner freekick sums Villa up, total crap
-
So, Given handled it, then it went off the pitch...so Halsey let play go on. Dickhead.
-
what the fuck are we about
-
ffs thought that was 4
-
Fair play Carruthers - already done more in 30 seconds than Gardner has done all game
Let's not start slating our kids eh? FFS he's 19 and playing in a side devoid of confidence fighting relegation. Give him a break.
-
what the fuck are we about
Losing, has to be.
-
Think it's the worst Villa side I've seen, ever. Not talking individuals, cause we have a few good players. But as a team. Bloody rubbish
-
Fair play Carruthers - already done more in 30 seconds than Gardner has done all game
Let's not start slating our kids eh? FFS he's 19 and playing in a side devoid of confidence fighting relegation. Give him a break.
Agree, we can't possibly judge what the kids are capable with this leadership
-
I watch in total awe that we are not bottom and already relegated...
-
caruthers looks like Nasri , Hope hes as good
-
Fucking hell Gabby, useless.
-
Think it's the worst Villa side I've seen, ever. Not talking individuals, cause we have a few good players. But as a team. Bloody rubbish
That is the nub of it.
If McLeish is given time and money to build his own side, that'll really won't be much different.
The man is a clueless, largely spineless joker. The sad thing is, the joke is on us.
-
Fair play Carruthers - already done more in 30 seconds than Gardner has done all game
Let's not start slating our kids eh? FFS he's 19 and playing in a side devoid of confidence fighting relegation. Give him a break.
To true, hope the little man friggin hammers one in against the mancs...
-
Agreed, other than billy big time bannan, I don't like to hear any negative stuff about the kids who have come through this season
-
Di matteo seems to talk more sense in one minute than mcleish has all season- wouldnt mind him in charge.
-
going down going down going doowwwn.
-
"one of the most one sided games I have seen in a long time" Savage on 5Live.
Wigan beat these 3 days ago.
We DESERVE to go down on this performance

He's a big boy now, he's not 17 is he??
Making the point that Carruthers looks to be a player whereas GG has shown nothing all game
-
Just f..k off AM!
-
Another head injury and Halsey didn't blow up.
-
going down going down going doowwwn.
No we're not, no we're not, no we're not...
-
Gabby looks finished
-
caruthers looks like Nasri , Hope hes as good
so man city bound when he gets really good

Thing is I can see him signing decent players, and then promptly dragging them down to his style of play.
-
whats Doug thinking?
-
FFS, how many times is Halsey not going to stop play for Villa, but like the arse of them.
-
Second time it is OK to play on after a head injury if it is MU playing on...
-
Why bring N'Zogbia on? Really? Why the fuck would you bring him on now? Fucking useless McLeish. Fuck off and die you ******.
-
Whats the point Zog on for less than 10 minutes.
Clueless Mcleish

Savage clearly hasnt seen us play much then this season- we are used to it.
-
My God, Carruthers, a player who looks as if he wants it...
That'll be drummed out of him.
just like the rest of them.
-
Gabby's pace even seems to have left him.
-
whats Doug thinking?
I would have mutually parted company with this useless pillock a long time ago now.
-
Shut up Savage, Heskey has blagged a career in football, and been shit for us
-
whats Doug thinking?
I'd have sacked this idiot at Christmas...
-
i have seen poorer teams than us give this lot a game
-
"one of the most one sided games I have seen in a long time" Savage on 5Live.
he hasn't watched us many times then .
-
whats Doug thinking?
I wish I could sack that useless ginger fuckwit - I wonder if Randy would let me as one last swansong!
-

Clueless Mcleish
Maybe Mccunt can blame him for something now
-
i have seen poorer teams than us give this lot a game
I don't you've seen anyone as poor as us.
-
Gabby's pace even seems to have left him.
I just am astonished at the transformation, couldn't be anything to do with the fact that he thinks AM is not the right man either.
-

Lucky for him!
-
We know that the kids are capable of winning the reserve league.....so by default there is a progressive coaching system within the club that encourages football to be played they way it should be...simple to feet with lots of movement......only problem is that....the philosophy doesn't extend to the first team
only conclusion to be drawn from this is that the first team coaching set up is not interested in developing a positive approach to the game !!
-
TBF to Heskey he's provided us with a target and brought players into the game. At least it gives us a base of getting the ball and some players into the last third.
-
whats Doug thinking?
I know who should be chairman!
-
Go on manu, let us have a goal from a corner............ Tight Gits!
-
caruthers looks like Nasri , Hope hes as good
so man city bound when he gets really good
thats the normal today Im afraid .. sad times
-
WTF Heskey
-
whats Doug thinking?

poor old doug having to go up there he used to beat this lot at tennis you know
-
We just have to hope that the teams below us keep losing, no question we are the right stuff to going down.
-
The biggest issue is that we have fuck all morale. Just saw 8 players walk out of our own box, not even remotely jogging. Don't even look interested. A losers mentality shining through. We can't go on like this. :-\
-
To be fair to Heskey he's been much better than Gabby.
-
Just grateful it wasn't 6 or 7
-
Spurs was still 10 x worse than this
-
whats Doug thinking?
I wish I could sack that useless ginger fuckwit - I wonder if Randy would let me as one last swansong!
Which of the 2 useless ginger fuckwits do you mean though ?
-

Jesus Christ, the last time I left they won the European Cup.

You missed the bit where I stated that he was 19, not 25. When Gardner was coming through the ranks he was all people talked about. A few months into his pro career you are slating him and heralding the next rising star until he has a bad/average game.
-
whats Doug thinking?
I would have mutually parted company with this useless pillock a long time ago now.
one thing about Doug . He would never ever have had this plonker as our manager.
-
They are strolling to a 3-0 win which is a massive step nearer winning the title over their city rivals, 75,000 in the ground and there is hardly any atmosphere. Fucking plastic wankers.
-

This is so true, we can pick flies out of players but its a far deeper problem the players look completely depleted, like they've just been told they aren't getting paid again.
-
4minutes. We're gonna win 4-3' we're gonna.............
-
Well played Bannan. I smiled fror the first time then.
-
and bannan just some us up
-
Can't wait to see what spin Pravda are going to put on this tonight and tomorrow.
-
Bannan really is shit! Hutton in acres so show us you can play a pass but no, runs into trouble and get a yellow card.
-

Doug appointed Billy McNeill, so I wouldn't be so sure.
-
And that's why I still think we will get relegated. We might be in a better position on the table, but we have no fight in us. It's the fight that keeps you up.
-
A match with good football between two well matched teams, each with good players.
Chelsea v Spurs on ITV at 6pm.
-
And that's 4.
-
ffs 4
-
well thats my bet , so some cash at least
-
5-4 we're gonna win 5-4.......
-
Just grateful it wasn't 6 or 7
Don't be. We need all our results I be as bad as they can to get rid of mcleish. We need him gone. This is the worst season for me as a fan, ever. I hate what they have done to our great club
-
Well, another "remarkable" performance.
-
utter utter garbage. we are going down. we wont even get a local derby against Ryton either.
-
fuck off all of you useless bastards
-
Glad I fucked off at half time
-
And that's why I still think we will get relegated. We might be in a better position on the table, but we have no fight in us. It's the fight that keeps you up.
Starting to feel this may be correct unfortunately...
The pits

No slating - it was a statement of fact that Carruthers had - and continues to - done more since coming on.
Same way Heskey had a decent header which was saved by De Gea - i don't now think he is our Messiah up front.
Just because they are young players doesn't make them exempt from any criticism - which my post wasn't.
-
Its almost stopped hurting.
-
I long for the day when I check this site at work and the thread at the top of the page says "Mcleish Gone"
-
And that's why I still think we will get relegated. We might be in a better position on the table, but we have no fight in us. It's the fight that keeps you up.
This is what I think, when you are playing the worst football in the division you have to be in there and Villa are terrible.
We need for everybody below us to carry on losing.
-
And that's why I still think we will get relegated. We might be in a better position on the table, but we have no fight in us. It's the fight that keeps you up.
No points do. We'd writen this off anyway, so nothing has changed. We should be fine...for now
-
If we had any fight left in us, this result will get rid of that. Can't see any possibility of us avoiding relegation now - even andy gray virtually said so in The Times today. Maybe we can win some games in the Championship.
-
have a nice chat with your old boss eck job done
-
Who's surprised?
-
McLeish saying to Fergie Can you please write to Randy again or I'm out.
-
And that's 4.
Goodnight Vienna... and thats Rigsbys cat... he would have done a better job than Agbonlahor today!!
-
Please let that whistle also be 'time' on McLeech's career as a manager, and if not, his employment by the club that he is single-handedly trying to destroy.
Does anyone still think that we're 'too good to go down'?
-
Who's surprised?
All season i haven't been surprised, but I do expect more professionalism and more passion, that is what McLeish can't put into a side.
-
Just grateful it wasn't 6 or 7

While your contempt for the manager is understandable. I find it ludicrous that you are hoping that we 'achieve' the worst results possible. I hope you don't go to games, we need to get behind the team. We'll get relegated with that attitude.
-

No, absolutely No question we are playing relegation football.

this
-
anything less than 5 was Going to be a cracking result for me,
Yep, that's how bad it is
-
We're piss poor but just about survive if we can beat Bolton, otherwise, I think we might just get the last relegation place.
-
whats Doug thinking?
Jesus Christ, the last time I left they won the European Cup.

I dont know how bad McNeill record was as a manager before us .
-
With the team available & who we were playing, the result was a forgone conclusion. Wasn't helped by the 'penalty' decision but as Young was apparently taught how to cheat by us that makes it acceptable? I'm only surprised Halsey (cnut) didn't let Rooney take whilst Given wasn't looking.
We can't be too critical of anyone today, we don't have the players with the quality or experience to cope with the number of injuries we have.
We now have two big games to get the 3 points which should be enough to see us safe. That's ALL that matters for now.
If Eck is to stay he MUST be given the funds to ensure that the squad has the quality & experience to ensure that we are not in the same situation next season.

So he can spend it on the likes of Hutton and N'Zogbia?
