given what is available that's the right team. Cuellar just coming back from injury should be on the bench and especially in light of Baker's performance at the weekend. I thought Warnock was also very good in midfield.

Cuellar, if fit, should play against Stoke, Baker was out moved by Ivanovic for both the Chelsea goals that he scored against us from set plays.

Bannan - I would have gone Garnder on sheer size.

Apart from that, fingers crossed eh...

Where did Licaj play versus Liverpool.  Basically what formation does that team play?
Looks a bit disjointed to me.

Lichaj plays LB. That's a 4-1-3-2 formation, Herd sitting in front of the back 4, Bannan and Warnock playing wide either side with Ireland in the hole behind the forwards

It appears to lack genuine width for me, but in AMc defence there aren'y many other options.

Bannan looked a problem defensively against Liverpool - most of their play came down his side, in part because he was not tracking back. Not his fault he's out of position and the threat from Stoke is different anyway. But let's play in their half so Bannan comes into his own attacking.

Apple's being a closed operating system, whereas html is open + the streams being against the broadcasters' rights + no Flash on Apple devices = guessing it will not be possible unless/ until Apple buy a relevant rights package.

can anyone give us a brief description of this wondergoal.

Nice one-two on the edge of the box, Weimann gets back and curls it into the far corner. Beautiful.

It's a good job that Stoke are rubbish. We look very ordinary and understandably tense.

Great goal from Andy. The only creativity is coming from Ireland who helped make the goal.

A great goal. Otherwise a really poor game and a poor performance. Our shape is all over the place. Bannan's not helping by drifting so much, and Lichaj is playing very badly. Ireland looks the man most likely to make things happen. If N'Zogbia is anywhere near fit, I'd get him on sharpish.

Given looks to be really struggling against the set pieces. Baker and Collins solid enough. Would like to see Gardner come into midfield too relatively soon in, probably for Bannan. Although in a game of very low quality, Bannan's set pieces do look a threat.

I like Etherington as a player. Much better than someone like Jarvis as an option for me.

Think we are doing what we did against Liverpool, Given looks a bit shakey, Bannan not focused, Gabby leading well from the front and yet again doing a lot of work getting back.

Great goal from Andy but we need to get more creative and pick the game up if not for ourselves then for everyone else looking at this.

I woke up from a bank holiday afternoon nap, scrambled to my computer to get a stream up to find we're winning. The goal sounds like it was special, great to see weimann starting. Can't really judge our place from the 10 minutes i've seen, but what I saw was a team defending and throwing themselves on the line to stop them scoring

Bannan's a very frustrating player isn't he? Lacks mental discipline I think. Not helped by the lack of movement around him of course.

I wonder if Weimann is going to be ok following his knock.

I think Eric has been ok tbh.Bannan needs to offer a bit more width, and Gabby needs to hold the ball up better.

Baker looks a real find and has a great leap.N'zog should come on foe Warnock, and maybe GG for Bannan.

Trying to play football, just lacking a bit of confidence in playing that telling pass.Herd needs to take a bit more responsibility.

Stoke are a nasty little outfit aren't they?

it's not as if you can say they've got a limited budget and can only bring in certain types of player. Pulis has had quite a lot to spend. They just go out to try and bully victories. Like a modern day Wimbledon, but at least they had an excuse.

I feel for some of the players out there, but not the manager. I would have shifted Gardner and got NZog on against Pennant straight away. And there must have been some directive to play counter attack and just soak it second half, which was always asking for trouble, and didn't work well at home with better players, let alone these ones. Keeping the ball would be nice.

Self inflicted from the moment they appointed this useless prick.

There is no leadership or footballing brains at the top of the club.   The team has been on the slide for the last two years and the players have for the most lost their confidence, hence never pressing to increase a lead and relying on sitting back.   The problem is that this is not a problem for AM, he thinks it is the natural way for a team to behave.  He is a disgrace.

Herd has looked okay.  More than good enough for our current team.

What's he up to now?  The physio seems to be holding him down.

this has been such an exhausting season. Feels like we need to work twice as hard as everyone else just to feel any sense of happiness. And even then it comes with a free grey cloud.

Self inflicted from the moment they appointed this useless prick.

I hate what this man is doing to our club. The reason we're scrambling around desperately for points at the end of the season, right when we have an injury crisis, is because the unambitious turd was too cowardly to go for points earlier in the season.
Nailed it.

I'd love to know whether the negative tactics come from AMc or from the player's fragile confidence.

No doubt people will moan about the goal (justifiably) but by the law of averages allowing stoke to keep pumping it into the box was always going to result in a chance.  Whereas we should have been concentrating on keeping possession.
