What the fuck is he up to?  Pires starting?  So if anybody else criticizes Houllier, they get dropped.  Pires is rewarded with a starting spot.

I wanted Downing and Collins to be dropped/rested,but i think NRC is gonna have to run his bollocks off. Glad to see Dunne and Cuellar paired and Bannan and Albrighton back in the team.

I wonder how Delphs injury is? Albighton and Bannon looked full of energy when they came on the other night, Pires not sure about his legs have gone time for him to do the talking on the pitch for a change.Hogg on the bench.
Edit, Carew nowhere to be seen even though we need strikers!!!

Pires I think is being given the put or shut up chance. Bannan and Albrighton have been better than Petrov and Gabby were in midfield on Wednesday so deserve their places. Cuellar and Dunne could turn out to be the partnership to keep us up.

Carew and Ireland GH said would not be available until Blue for fitness reasons.

Gabby appears to me to up for  the scrap.

Pires looked ancient the first 25,but the cushion of the 2 goal lead had let the team link with a bit more swagger, consequently he's been able to join in.Lets face it ,his legs look gone but he should have a slight more involvement now they'll have to open up.

Did anyone notice against Sunderland how we tried to vary our corner kick routines too,a lot more movement prior to the ball being delivered?

It's like being back in the mid 90s again. I'm stuck on a 135k BT profile until my line stays up longer. Which basically means slightly faster than dial up for up to 72 hours, due to my router dying by way of constantly reconnecting at lower and lower speeds.

good move for the goal and we have been decent since. Still though a lot of problems in that team. Clark, Cuellar, Albrighton, Walker and Bannan doing well. Young and Gabby have been pretty anonymous but combined well for the goal in fairness. Ash finally taking a man on and crossing with his left. Reo Coker and Pires have been abysmal. Reo Coker is so limited on the ball against weaker teams its embarrassing.

Ive been very impressed with Clark. Future captain of Villa hopefully.

HT. 2-0 yet we've really quite average. Right now, we'll take it.

I'll take average over absolutely fucking atrocious.

Yes, average is much, much better than the utter guff we were served up on Wednesday night.

Just get through the tie, that's the important thing.

Hmmmm. I wonder what kind of in-play price I'd get on 2-2 right now.

20/1 on betfair

now 6/1

Christ no need to turn on Ash so quick, he did set up the second goal.

He picked up another stupid booking... fact!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He fouled a player who'd just robbed him of the ball and was about to make a clean getaway, it happens sometimes.

It was totally and utterly pointless as the foul was 3 yards outside his own 18 yard box. I could understand it if it was 3 yards outside our 18 yard box!

I'm not arguing now.
