I notice theres a lot of hate between different clubs on here, particuarly with a lot of hate towards tottenham recently! Usually its between Blues and Baggies where the hate goes, and just want to know what the biggest derby is for people on here and why.
Mine is Blues, same city, knuckle dragging supporters who's claim to fame is zulu's and that every Villa fan is scared of them (which is why the all come in on busses i presume?!). And the fact like many other Villains, iv been brought up to hate them!
-
If ever a poll needed an "all of the above" option...
-
The Dingles, bar none.
-
Out of the list given, it's probably Blues, although I hate Tottingham too. But for me it's Liverpool for all the misery they put Villa through in the 90's. Sorry.
-
Christ, It HAS to be the Blues.
Vermin of the lowest order.
-
If ever a poll needed an "all of the above" option...
Or none of the above. Hate is the most overused word on this forum. I would cheer if Small Heath plummeted down to the Ryman's (over wherever) but hate? No.
-
I've always said that as a fan, that you love one club and every other club represents some kind of threat to the club you follow. Therefore you have to hate everyone. Your second favourite team is the club you hate the least.
So, all of the above. But out of those, at the moment, Spurs because they represent the biggest threat to Villa.
-

Does that make Small Heath all our 2nd favourite club as they never have, nor will ever be, a threat?
-
Can you add Man City and Chelsea to that list too...
In fact it could be like the new election voting system when you have to pick your top 5 in order...
-

That's actually my preferred attitude with Blues. I don't hate them. I don't even feel sorry for them. I nothing them. It irritates me a little when we sing those anti-Blues songs when they're not around.
The club I dislike the most in the entire world is Real Madrid, but in English terms, Spurs and Citeh run them a close joint-second.
-
Always had a slightly irrational hatred for Wigan. ne real reason - just don't like 'em!
-
Those who think they don't hate Blues - just wait until they so much as scrape a draw against us and you'll end up wanting to murder the first bluenose you see. Truly fucking hateful club from the lowest form of pond-life supporter right up to that lunatic fucking Hong Kong barber
Other clubs may drift onto our radar of hatred but Blues are constantly there, right in the middle.
And I hate Chelsea and Man United many times more than I hate Spurs

No because their existance deprives us of potential revenue. I wouldn't want their fans but sponsors and advertisers would pay more to us.

Spurs
-
Well I've always disliked spuds. Goes back to the sid/hoddle thing as a kid.
Despite what the media say, we are invaribly better than spuds most seasons yet if you knew nothing about footy and discovered it today and read recent media coverage you would think that their position in english footy culture/success is second to manures.Ahead of Arsenal, who do have reason to boast.
Then we have the reversable spuds/england shirt which means that Gary Mabbut with 200 appearences for Bristol Rovers and after twenty for spuds gets a call up while a certain Mr Mortimer...well you know the rest. I blame spuds for Englands failings.
I will say that 'Arry seems an ok bloke, buts thats as far as I'll go ! and he did have MON tactically in his pocket, then again big deal.
-
None of the above..........its Newcastle for me
-
None of the above..........its Newcastle for me
The Spurs of the north.
-
None of the above..........its Newcastle for me
Actually, I remember when a national newspaper has a special celebration pullout - because Kenny Dalglish had become their f*cking manager. Here I am, in Birmingham, looking at a celebration fuckin centre spread because fuckin newcastle had a new manager. And why? Oh yeah, that's right, it's because they are my second favourite team. I forgot about that...
-
Our genuine oldest rivals.
-
Blues - same City, scum fans, splits families - make my blood boil.
-
Spurs
-
Al-Ahli of Dubai.
-
I really can't decide between Spurs and Blues. I used to hate Blues when they used to beat us occasionally, now I'm just pretty indifferent to them. I'm pretty sure I irrationally hate Celtic more than both.
-
Blues, love it when they lose and can't stand it when they win. Just sums them up when they were above us after about 4 games on goal difference and they were loving it. Can't stand their players, ferguson, Carr, bowyer, Johnson, larsson all a bunch of moaning Wankers.
-
Has to be Bloose for me, in spite of 'Onest 'Enry taking over at the smug cockerny Spurzz.
I've been going to football matches for over 40 years now and I've been at games in the dark times of hooliganism in grounds which erupted in mass brawls on the terraces, but I've only been genuinely scared once. And that was on a train from New St to Aston when I found myself in a carriage full of Blue Scum. The most terrifying 15 minutes of my life.
-
Blues - no history, no class, and one of the most depressing grounds I've ever been to (but not for many years thankfully). I can at least find something to respect in each of the other three clubs in the poll. Living in London, Spurs are the club I like best down here - don't get me started on Arsenal though!
-
If ever a poll needed an "all of the above" option...
Or none of the above. Hate is the most overused word on this forum. I would cheer if Small Heath plummeted down to the Ryman's (over wherever) but hate? No.
Well said.
-
Hate Ure and Lplop a lot more than the above named. Can't even watch them on tv unless they are losing.
Hate the circus that surrounds these 2.
Can't stand Wegner either, or Arse.
At least Albion/Wolves/Blose fans support them for the right reasons.
-
Stephen Carr was a ho-hum sort of player before he joined Small Heath. No great shakes but not a particularly hatefull sort of individual.
Anyone who saw him at the end of the last derby will understand why Small Heath remain the only football club I would genuinely like to see out of business.
-
I really really hate Man United, Always have. Out of that list its Blues no brainer!!
-
At least Albion/Wolves/Blose fans support them for the right reasons.
Agreed.
-
Blues followed by Man Utd and both because of their fans. Blues must have the highest percentage of scummy individuals as fans in the world, horrible little club followed by horrible people and I don't know why they exist - they've brought nothing positive to the party in over a hundred years. I love talking football but can't with any United fan, arrogant, one-eyed, bad losers who lie about tenuous connections to Manchester and think football starts and ends with the self proclaimed biggest club in the world.
-
Man United. Second team I alwys look for the result of. Maybe its because they have been the most successful club in my football life, and someone I always want to see how our team rate against them. Or arrogant fans. Or the fact Ronaldo played for them, the lowest of the low. Or my family on my dads side are seasoned fans, who take great pleasure in ridiculing my team. Or the fact that they have had some bloody ugly players over the years. Or the fact the commentary refers to them as United, not Newcastle, Leeds etc.
-
Everything then Moet?
Its the kind of supporters they attract that i hate about them. The "never-will-be's", who only support them to make themselves feel successful........wankers, all of them.
-

It always amazes me how many "Brummie Reds" seem to have soft spot for small heath and hate us. I wonder why, glory hunting wankers.
-
Funny you should say that PWS, i always had a theory that glory-hunting Ure fans were frustrated Bloose fans, and glory-hunting Lplop suppporters, frustrated Olbiyon fans.
-

It's certainly been my experience with the worst kind of Brummie Red. The kind that have never been to a game, i've been to Old Trafford more than them, never go because it's always sold out and when you ask why they didn't go to the matches that don't sell out they are always "working" that day/night. but if they win, god don't you know about it.
The vast majority of them I swear are noses.
As was said earlier, regardless of how I feel about them or their club, at least noses support their club for the right reasons. Even if they are certifiable reasons.
-
Where is "Some other club" choice?
I do not hate any of the Clubs listed. The local clubs are far inferior to us so I applaud them for making an effort. Spurs I couldn't give a ****
-
In my personal league of hate - Blues would be 20th - just so they could get relegated even from that.
-
Walking out of WHL after the game last season reminded me why i hate Spurs. The amount of stick we got because we did'nt have the deceny to let them score past us was amazing. I hope they're in a similar mood tomorrow.
-
Spurs with Blues close behind.
-
On this list it has to be the Blues.
However, my hatred of Man Utd runs just as deep - if not deeper. I guess I just don't see blues as a threat.
Living in the states I see quite a few wankers walking around in Man Utd shirts and they think that they can bond with me over proper football. I know that it is not really their fault that they follow that gaggle of whinging fuckers but I just can't get past the sight and it makes me want to throw up in my mouth.
Arseholes of the highest order.
-
I hate the blues and spurs can't stand either of them proper shite clubs and fans.
-
Blues.
Had to travel round that ground last week because of a diversion. What an absolute dump.
-
None of the above. Overall Manure. But at the moment Man City is definitely the team I want to see lose the most.
-
I always play along and give it the pantomime treatment when it comes to the B-lose.
But it was difficult to truly hate them as they have been irrelevant for so long, scrambling about in the second and third division.
You might as well have hated Walsall.
Things warmed up for a while post 2002 and -whilst I'd still like to see them go down as the only sure fire way of ensuring we can't ever have a repeat of 03/03/03- if I'm honest I've always hated Liverpool and Manure more. The smugness and sense of entitlement of both of those clubs is off the scale. The hypocrisy of Fergiescum moaning about clubs with money and players being tapped up, the largely homecounties or Irish accents of supporters of those clubs who inundate phone-ins and embarrass themselves with inane comments and lack of general awareness. The whole nine yards.
Liverpool is a more historic dislike dating back to a time when they actually won things and would make a habit of playing poorly in games and sneaking a winner. Usually a deflection or a dodgy penalty decision. Man U do play a more expansive game and I can understand why the neutral or gloryhunter might actually watch them and be entertained, I'll give them that.
But the Redscouse still believe they should be shoe-in's for the title now despite being nowhere near it for 20 years whilst Man U fans have only stepped up the anti Glazer protests in the wake of the growth of Citeh as the dominant club in the transfer market. And Chelsea getting back amongst the honours of course.
I'm not particularly crazy about Roman's lot or Citeh either TBH, the Oil Firm crew as it were. Nouveau riche blow-ins. But I work from the simple principle that if it's bad for Man U or Liverpool - it's good.
Any misery or misfortune that can be distributed their way, anything that pisses off their fans and has them crying in their ale can only be a good thing.
-
West Brom because I grew up in Halesowen.
Also, THAT 'Villa Villa Villa' thing - wtf's all that about, tossers !!
-
Always the tesco-bag scum
-
I support two teams. Aston Villa and whoever's playing Small Heath Alliance.
-
I support two teams. Aston Villa and whoever's playing Small Heath Alliance.
:D
-
Hmm, lets' see.... erm, Spurs. And now I know I'm not alone!
As Nick Lees said earlier, hate is an over-used word and if I really think about it... no, sorry I fukcing hate spurs (in football terms of course)
If we're talking about fans, aside form the Blues... Any brummie supporting a team from Manchester, Liverpool or London. I know all the arguments that get trotted out about football being a global game now and boundaries between countries being obsolete, however every time I hear a brummie arguing with another brummie about the rivalry between Liverpool and Manchester I scratch my head. It's just wrong.
Did I mention I hate Spurs?
-
liverpol and blues are my real hates for the same reasons as K Gage although my position on MANU is tainted by the fact i lived up there and had many true united suporters as mates who knew thier football and respected The Villa different generation i guess> then i cant stand chelsea no class and my dislike of olbyon is purely because of the Croperly incident
-
Blues aside,
for me it's: 1)Man Utd
2) Leeds
3) Coventry
The Utd hatred is obviously part jealousy, but also a multitude of other reasons that have been covered elsewhere on here: the scum that turns up to VP every year for the FAC 3rd round; the armchair support the length and breadth of the land; cockney fvckin reds; the media obsession with them; the way any football commentator shrieks: "ROONEY" every time the ball goes anywhere near him; The airbrushing of history that conveniently overlooks the 26 years they went without winning the league whilst liverpool made them look small time; the sinister Old Trafford 'security'. Horrible, horrible classless outfit.
Leeds hatred is mainly just down to their scumbag, mainly racist supporters. I'm too young to remember their 70's heyday, but watching the damned Utd recently, cemented my dislike for them. Similarly - the O'Leary years were difficult to stomach, watching them progress in the champions league. Bowyer, Woodgate.
Coventry is just because I'm from Nuneaton and there were quite a few around growing up. Only really noticed their nasty strain of bitterness from around the mid-late 90's though.
-
Not bothered of anyone of the ones on that list it's Liverpool I hate the most.
-
Mansfield.
-
I have many black country friends so really quite like some of the conversations and banter i have had with there fans. So that only leaves the "Scum" and take my word i really do "Hate" them. Even though a lot of my mates are Blue noses. I just hate there cynical view and lack of reality about our superiority (Ground, Training facilities, attendances) and achievements ...........
-
Not being from Birmingham, I hate our local rivals less than I hate the likes of Man U, Spurs and Man City. To me, the baggies, wolves and small heath are just small time clubs like Bolton, Wigan etc and I just dislike them that bit more because they are our local rivals. If I grew up in Brum I'd feel the passionate local hatred more obviously.
-
Common theme here is that if you grew up in Brum you hate the Blues, the Black Country then it's the Albion or Wolves and
elsewhere then it's a lucky dip. I grew up in Brum and most of my mates are noses but I hate the Blues. I couldn't give a toss about Spurs to be honest and the Albion and Wolves don't interest me either. I can see why people from a certain area would hate the Albion and of course it's close to VP but to truly 'hate' Spurs/Liverpool/Newcastle etc. doesn't ring true to me. Dislike yes, but hate for me has to be kept for those niggling, inbred, chavvy tossers from the sty.
Somebody commented about hearing two brummies arguing about Man U/Liverpool and I admit to somehow not liking hearing Villa fans that don't have West Midlands accents. My problem and I'll deal with it but have always liked to think we are a Birmingham club but guess it comes with relative success.
-
Spurs I think.
Partly due to then being a bigger threat to any potential success. But mainly to to that absolute cheating scumbag of a manager they have. And their fans are generally a bunch of penises.
-
I strongly dislike all of them with the exception of Wolves, who I don't really have any feelings about.
I would add, though, that although I detest Blues (most of all), I would rather my children grew up to be Blues fans than gloryhunting Chelsea or Man United supporters.
The gloryhunter is amongst the lowest forms of human life, as far as I'm concerned. Devoid of any pride in their local area, dispensing with their own pride safe in the knowledge there will be some silverware along soon enough. Their opinions on football are null and void - they can never know what it is really like.
Every time I see them walking around Brum in their Man United shirts, my stomach churns, and I wonder how it feels to be quite so fucking spineless.
Somewhat extreme, but hey ho, I really, really don't like them.
-

Old hippies never die. ;¬)
I can't think of a better word to describe the feelings I have for Small Heath than hate. It's not all consuming and I have good mates who support them but as a collective whole I can't fucking stand them.
-
My problem and I'll deal with it but have always liked to think we are a Birmingham club but guess it comes with relative success.
Shall the rest of us find someone else to support then?
-
Well I'm not from Brum, but my Granddad was born in Aston and supporting the Villa is a family thing and I always have done. I was born in Bedford and for some reason there are thousands of Spurs fans everywhere I go, so they infuriate me more than anyone. Blose are close though.
-

Good point.
There are plenty of decent noses (I've got them amongst my very close relatives). The problem is when they gather in large groups, that's when they become so obnoxioiusly vile.
Fortunately noses and large gatherings have historically been almost mutually exclusive.
-
It's Man U for me. I lived and worked in and around Manchester for 15 years, and they really are the most jumped up set of supporters. Even when I've lived elsewhere, you're not immune from them.
-
Of the options I've chosen Blues. If Liverpool and Man U were there it would've been a much tougher call
-

This is exactly how I feel about the Glory Hunter. They are the pits !! A plastic Manc actually deleted me off their facebook when I posted a status when they lost to Leeds..It must be so f*cking boring.I often wonder what the hell do they find to talk about on their forums when everything goes right 99.9% of the time. Maybe it's jealousy but I despise them with a vengeance and their opinions are meaningless
-
My old man's a Wolves fan and I have no animosity towards them-I remember then almost wiped out and their revival and being pleased for them when Bully won his caps
Some of my extended family are Bluenoses-i dont understand why-but,tellingly,none of them go to the sty and some have given up on them.
i still hate them though
only away ground i've ever been punched at-coward cold cocked me whilst i was walking in for a preseason friendly with a mate and his young(11 yrs old) brother
he didn't stay to face my wrath- he bravely ran away
"oh oh oh Brave Sir Robin"
-
blose without a doubt
-
In order...
1 Small Heath
2 Man U
3 Chelsea
4 Leeds
5 Spurs
6 Liverpool
7 Newcastle
8 West Ham
9 Stokeceister City - two bogey teams for the price of one
10 Celticunrangers
11 Nazio, Real Madrid (thanks for selling Van der Vaart for 50p you Francoite bastards), plus all the other racist teams the World over.
12 Sheffield United
13 Millwall
14 Rapid Vienna
I've probably forgotten a few.
Teams I can't be arsed to hate, even though quite a few of our number do.
1 Man City
2 Baggies
3 Coventry
4 Middlesbrough.
-
My problem and I'll deal with it but have always liked to think we are a Birmingham club but guess it comes with relative success.
Im from gloucestershire and support the villa cus of my dad. I follow the club as much as i can now (due to money) but i had a season ticket for 10 years and did every away game money allowed. Shall i stop following us cus i ent from brum?
-
After the Blues it's Man City (who currently symbolise pretty much all that's wrong with corporate Premiership football) and Liverpool. I never tire of watching any of them get beat (altho Man City is a recent thing). Roll on Liverpool's Relegation Party! (Now that would be even funnier than when we helped Newcastle go down)
-
Blose Today, Blose Tomorrow, Blose Forever.
I just hope the phrase, "Here Today, Gone Tomorrow" can be used on them.
-
small heath - no-one else comes close
-
Hate? Bit strong. I hate the bastard that took me for Pounds 250,000 last year. Him I would willingly introduce to a baseball bat and tickle him a bit instead of watching the process take it's course. I hate the Doctor that mis - diagnosed my wife's cancer. She died..
Sorry. Anyway if there is one club whose results I check to hope they've lost or, get me really agitated when we play them it's Small Heath. And only them.
I think we are really lucky to have such a bunch of moronic, jealous, pathetic and perpetual losers as our local rivals. Hate? No. Despise? Oh yes.
-

As I say, it's just how I feel. I have nothing against people supporting Villa from wherever but I do think it's a different experience for those of us who have grown up in around brum (and Blues fans) to those that haven't. I think the main reason Blues fans are so bitter towards us (other than the lack of trophies, insane jealousy etc.) is that the massive majority have grown up with their faces being rubbed in it by Villa fans.
As we have more supporters from outside Brum who haven't had that intense rivalry drummed in to them because they have grown up in Gloucester, Milton Keynes or wherever then I don't think they understand pure loathing of a local rival. It's why I am sceptical about people saying they 'hate' Spurs, Newcastle etc. because 'hate' and 'dislike, annoy' are two different things. I'm not sure you understand 'hate' unless you have lived it.
Just my opinion and long may the extended Villa family remain. Looking at attendances I think we need it.
-
In this order,
1.Birmingham.
2.Liverpool.
3.Wolves.
4.Tottenham.
5.Newcastle.
6.West Ham
7.WBA.
Shit, I missed U2 and UB40 off the list.
-
It's 1969 and my Dad told me that the team we dislike the most are the Blosers and it has stuck ever since...
UTV
The Doc
-
Well i live in Worcester Barry, previously Pershore.Where i lived originally, Hamstead, everybody supported Villa or Albion. Not much of anything else.
When i moved to Pershore, everybody supported 'The Mighty Reds YNWA' or Ure, when you asked them why it was always "Because they are the best/biggest"......pathetic glory hunters really.
Now even though you don't live in Brum, one of your most local football teams is Villa, so you're fine by me, and we certainly could'nt accuse you of being a glory hunter could we?
-
If there was a choice of either Liverpool or Blues to get relegated - how many of you would choose the Scousers?
I would!
-
Can someone please add Chaventry City to this list?
-
All this over-the-top coverage of Liverpool is reminding me of just how much they rile me. I don't want to use the word "hate", but blimey, they grind my gears in every way imaginable. What an awful, awful club they are - for reasons that are debated elsewhere. I just can't stand 'em!
-
If there was a choice of either Liverpool or Blues to get relegated - how many of you would choose the Scousers?
I would!
I would too. Blues to be allocated the spot the season after. And both to rot in the Championship, never to return.

I'd love to see Liverpool do a Leeds but to rot inbetween League 1 or 2. Maybe even do an Oxford. Blues to come up every 5 or so years to give us a thrill once in a while.
