I'm hoping Garny, Unai and his teammates all see the shit being written and are fired up to ram the words so far down their throats they won't know if they're being choked or fisted.

Man, the media consensus about this lad is SO bad, that if he has even a HALF decent season, the legend of Unai Emery will go into the stratosphere.  He doesn't even need to be brilliant. He just needs to perform to a slightly above-average level to completely silence the doubters.

That’s the ManUre PR machine and the complicit national media. I’m still yet to hear of a bust up or a downed tools example that would really qualify him as a dressing room distraction or bad actor. United blamed leaks on him and sold him to a rival - they need him to fail. Biggest club in the country can’t even take care of or nurture one of their youth players past 20 years old. Way more damning on the club.

It doesn’t matter whether the press does that.

Yeah, these are still our glory days!

It will probably help that he will be around grownups like Mings, Watkins and McGinn who have had to graft to get to the highest level. Proper role models.
Well-made point, mate.
and if the bloke sitting in the dugout can't get him to perform I think he can basically forget it.

I feel very overprotective of him now, like someone's bullying your little brother. Hopes he makes all the clickbait pundits look like even bigger knobs than they already are.

Everyone wanted Mbaye, it still might happen, but what’s he done compared to Garnacho?
Won more trophies.

Ah the Djimi Traore defence!

David May king of that claim.
Sancho has taken that crown.

Yeah we all need to take a step back and let him play before piling into him with misery we have invented for ourselves.

We have lacked pace and directness for years, we now have it. I hope he thrives and the media including Gobby have to eat their words

Exactly.
I was a bit underwhelmed but what feels like media bullying of him, makes me really want him to succeed

A collective Villa protective bubble is needed.

Hopefully nearer to Tony Morley than Didier Six.

I don't recall Gabby scoring one of these ever, let alone as a teenager

His nationality probably doesn't help, anyone Argentinian seems to be public enemy #1 at the minute.

Fucking gammons.  I had some corned beef for lunch and it was bloody lovely.

For those who have watched him closely, what's his technique like? I assumed pretty good but that Yanited presenter on Talksport (not the carpethead, younger black dude) said it was sub-par.
