They don't give a fuck. I'd be surprised if that's not a cut and paste reply everyone gets who complains.

Oh without a doubt. I've had the same from my prat of an MP in the past; despite me asking them not to do so.

"Due diligence" my arse!

Signed and shared (privately). Well done getting this going. Depressing seeing this, particularly on the shirt front of our new record signing of part Congolese heritage (and everywhere else you look on the Villa site etc). All we can do is try to kick off so people know not all Villans support this.

I think I've come to the conclusion that I just won't be buying any replica sportwear from the club with the 'Visit Rwanda' branding.

The club can ignore online petitions, and send out carefully crafted yet copied-and-pasted response emails to concerned fans, but if the fanbase as a whole don't buy the replica shirts with the branding and, for instance, buy the training and pre-match kits that aren't carrying the branding then that'll at least send a mesage out to the club. The club will notice that sort of thing, and it might just make them rethink the deal. It won't have an immediate impact but it might shorten the deal. Remember that the club have recent history with cutting short agreements - the Castore deal was ended early due to 'sweaty' shirts.

Edit - going back to that article by The Athletic, it's interesting that the value of the Betano deal is now being revised downwards to £14m p/s compared to the £20m p/s we were all told at the time. Anyone know if the club use The Athletic as a mouthpiece?

Thanks Chris.

I think it's important, at this stage, to point out that, although signatures to the petition appear to have slowed a bit (as is often the case after an initial rush), we can't let that dishearten us. Overnight success was never going to happen, but those of us who care are in this for as long as it takes. I know that several here are working to bring this to the attention of as many as possible, and no matter what those who are happy to see Signor Calvo prostitute our club in this manner say or do, we won't be silenced.

There is no "can" in this. The club will ignore any online petition.

This.

It is important to air our feelings on this but there is zero chance anything changes as a result of it.
