Just saw the post for this on Facebook. Unsurprising, but depressing number of comments from narrow minded dimwits.
Depressing indeed.  The usual cries of "keep politics out of sport!" and "you're just a woke, leftie twat".  Tedious.

Can someone summarise the issue here?
Advertising is a suggestion isn't it? So one is able to choose whether to buy a coke bet with Betano, holiday in Rwanda.
What's the problem?

Sponsorship is promoting a brand. They wouldn't give us money, otherwise. So by signing a sponsorship deal with them we are promoting a repugnant, murderous state.

The issue is that we are helping to cleanse the reputation of a regime which doesn't recognise human rights, politically oppresses its people, and funds genocide in neighbouring countries.

The money they earn from tourism helps keep the regime in power and can be used to fund these activities.

Yep exactly that and anything that “normalises” this is where the problem lies. Aston Villa are signing up and being paid to sports wash.

Good summary. Signed.

In fact, I'd rather whoever shared this to that sewer removed it ASAP. As I've already stated, for my own safety, I'd rather not bring myself to the attention of fascist loons.

Seriously....take it down please. I'm getting on a bit. And, unlike the hate-peddlers, I can't afford a big fat bodyguard!

Yep, I’ve tried on there to say ‘do your research’ but most of them just want to insult the poster or say money is money
