No. Patriotism is for twats. It's also very un-English to act like Americans and feel the urge to stick flags and anthems everywhere.
(By all means put some up during football tournaments if you want to, but take then down afterwards).

I think people being uncomfortable shagging flags because some people with nasty opinions also shag flags is a bit silly.
You can say that about basically every national flag.
The saltire has been used in anglophobic circles in Scotland for years, especially post-Indyref.
Some terrible things have been done in the name of the Irish tricolour too.
Decent people in those places have no issue flying their flags so I don't see it as an American thing either.
Pretty much all of the same people who shag flags for hate reasons are into football too, I don't think anyone here is going to give up football for that reason.
