Kevin Bridges: in search of the Beautiful Game
« on: June 05, 2026, 08:49:30 PM »
This documentary on BBC is a great watch, some serious observations but som very insightful observations..and a few laughs! It’s also got SJM in it, he’s a bloody legend!

It's very good. Bridges is likable and relatable, and seems to genuinely care about the state of football.
Spoiler for Hiden:
He's also unapologetically pished, when he's wrapping things up after being with the Arsenal fans in Noo Yoik.

Also, it provides yet more evidence that John McGinn is an absolutely top bloke who we are rightly proud to have as our captain.

For those wondering about Kevin Bridges connection with SJM

"The last time Scotland were in the World Cup I was starting high school where his Mum was one of my teachers.

The first time I met him was when his Mum had put me in detention and he’d finished primary school early and came over to wait for his Mum finishing. I was sitting doing my punishment exercise and he was sitting doing his homework. Who knew what the future held in store for us both, so it was nice 28 years later to go back to where we first met."

Since Meatball is 31, that suggests he was in primary school (and able to make his own way to the school where his mum worked) age 3…or maybe even 2  ???

8yrs age difference.
If Bridges was 15/16  then SJM could well have got there either with hus ttwin sister, or big brother who's 2 yrs older.

Get the impression he wasn't mollycoddled and it's a walk of just under a mobile.

He probably would have been ok as long as he had an Orange on the way.
