I think early pre-season is often used to sort out which youngsters are coming on the tour for a chance to show they can contribute this season.

Hansa Rostock of the German third-tier today took over 6,000 fans to their pre-season friendly at Watford.

Saw them in Euston yesterday morning and there were a good few hundred there alone like the Freiburg guys all in white T-shirts

Those of you that have watched the two friendlies so far, is Cisse good in the air?  Strong? He looks tall and rangy.

It was probably just Peter Crouch filming a new ad.

His name is Luka, he is going on the Asian tour...

He's just looked solid, composed, very much in tune with how our defence plays. Very Konsa-like to tell the truth, not hyper dominant in air or anything, but well positioned and moves well. I'm impressed. Of all the young ones, he looks the most ready.

Agree with that. He’ll get a run out in the League cup I reckon.

Hemmings looks a lot better than when debuted. There’s a few more there that with a bit of work could step up. The player who came on for Bailey was far better than Bailey. I know that’s not saying much.

I thought Ned had a good half again at full back. He seems good enough to play regularly to me. Lots of other youngsters impressed as well-although most now in their 20's.

He looks tidy enough. He fucked around on the ball a little too much for. Decent though
