At least a couple on this thread. But it would probably be fair to say that "lots" wanted the incredibly successful Southgate gone.

After 7 years Southgate’s time had run its course, which he knew. Tuchel fucked up big time last night, but he should have the address it.

There's no possible defence of that cowarsice form 55 minutes on. The most pathetic England display I have seen. 12% possession at one point, a midfield so deep they couldn't hit 25 yards to stop endless crosses. Zero attacking intent and from the 65th minute to the 85th minute only Pickford completed a pass, to Stones, in our 6 yard box. Utterly fucking grim.

Sack the useless ******.

Tuchel did fuck it up. Don't know about sacking him, but when you're hired precisely to be good at the big moment and you fuck up the big moment, it's fair to say you didn't fulfil the brief.

And I really don't have a huuuge irrational attachment to English success, I have a semidetached relationship at best to the England national teams in every sport except cricket, and so I don't think I speak with overmuch bias or anything when I say that England, with these players and the squad available, should at least aspire to going out with a bit more dignity and honour than with their shoes drenched in a puddle of their own making.

If you fucked up that badly in another job you would get the sack.
The whole pub groaned at his subs.
He utterly fucked us.
Apparently he is very stubborn so can’t trust him not do it again.
Get rid.

12% possession would be crap for 10 man San Marino against Argentina.

He is universally getting pelters.
The FA need to act.
But they won’t.
Of course not!  Would be considered too expensive to pay him off as his contract had been extended before the tournament.

Honestly, who fucking cares? As if changing coach will change anything.

England's ceiling is 3rd or 4th. That's just the way it is.

The problem with giving him a second chance is that you have no evidence doing so isn’t just giving up on the next competition. It’s not like in club football when you can give someone a few more games and see if there are signs that they’re turning it around.

Recruitment in all walks of life is hard, and there are always mistakes made. But what’s much worse than recruiting the wrong person is failing to act once it’s clear that they aren’t the right person.

It isn’t about ‘only’ getting to the semi, or not winning it, or losing to Argentina, or throwing away the lead. It’s about the manager effectively destroying the team mid-game.

Emery has a much higher fuck up rate. Get him sacked.

Two completely different jobs. Emery has four competitions every year… not one every two years. The club equivalent would be fucking up all four competitions two seasons running.

Nope, it wouldn't. There are plenty of times Emery has made mistakes, as all managers do. People don't generally see each individual defeat as conclusive evidence that he is irredeemable and must be sacked.

Come on, now. This is knee-jerk insanity.

Compare this apple and pretend ot is no different to this orange.

The difference between Emery and Tuchel last night, is the Villa would have won that game 2-0. In fact I'd be confident we'd have beat either of those sides last night.

Lol I’m the wrong person to accuse of knee-jerk opinions! I’m ridiculously rational.

It’s not that he made a mistake or screwed up, it’s the nature of what he did and the overall importance of the game for his job.

I’m not sure I have ever seen a manager so completely derail his team mid-game, and in such an ill-conceived manner.

If England had a competition next week or in a couple of months, then sure let’s see what he’s learned and give him another go.

But should he get the next two years, with us crossing our fingers and waiting to see if things have changed? No. That’s too big a risk.

No, they should replace him with one of those managers that wins every match and never makes any decisions that fans disagree with. He also needs to be not currently employed by someone who are considered a more attractive job. Sure there are loads of them.

I'd have preferred a manager that wasn't suddenly possessed by the ghost of McLiesh and Bruce simultaneously on the 55th minute leading to the most pathetic England display I have seen, culminating with Dan fucking Burn being up front in a World Cup semi final, with 6 other defenders on the pitch.
