So Micah Richards dad passed away right before he went on air last night, but still did the broadcast. That’s very sad indeed irrespective of what we think of him.
Sad for his loss and sad, perhaps, that he carried on with his punditry.

Who knows , People handle this situation in all kind of ways .  I said goodbye to my Dad in his hospital bed  and took the dogs out  while we waited for him to die.  My Mum was with at the end though .  Sad how ever you handle it

Yes you are right. That's solitude you needed in that very emotional moment and in a similar position I'd probably do the same however turning up for work a few hours after is something I couldn't have been able to do.

I couldn’t have done it, so fair play to him.

Lost confidence in TT.
I wish he would leave.
You just know what’s going to happen in 2028.
He had his chance and blew it spectacularly.

He wasn't at the races last night, he's not the Man for the job.

Worse than not being at the races, he was back at the stable, trying to put hay in the wrong end of the horse.

He is universally getting pelters.
The FA need to act.
But they won’t.

I am 70 and many years ago stopped getting excited about Internationals.
So why do I still watch England games ?
I dont bother with random friendlies, or group games.
Last night I could not believe the dross, if we had carried on playing as we were when we scored we could have won as as 2 goals would have probably been enough to win.
Bring on Dan Burn, i did not know if to laugh or cry.
When the whistle blew, off to bed. No need to listen to pundits Did not stay awake for a moment wondering what if.
Certainly will not be watching the losers final on Saturday.
On holiday a few years ago a spurs fan told me that the Villa reminded him of England, He might have had a point, but not now only one team to spend my Autumn years watching and it will not be England.

Im in my early 50s so younger than you,  but like you as soon as it finished , walked home with the wife from a friends get together, didn’t bother with pundits, switched on another channel and Jurassic Park was on. Realised I felt sadder about Sam Neil dying than England getting knocked out.

Mighty, perennial tournament winners England should sack the manager because they "only" made the semi-finals of the World Cup. Bloody Hell.

I look forward to the Premier League starting again and we can all go back to talking about how deluded Tottenham are.

Are lots of people actually saying that?

At least a couple on this thread. But it would probably be fair to say that "lots" wanted the incredibly successful Southgate gone.

He was brought in to not shit the bed in the big games, something it could be argued Southgate did. Instead he shat in everyone's bed like he'd been on a diet of nothing but tainted lettuce.
