Martinez you'd assume will be fired immediately if hes not already leaving. Keeping old man Ronnie on instead of Ramos was a disgrace.

My hunch is that the people doing the potential firing won't have an issue with the team selection and are quite probably the people who insisted on it.

Konsa seems to be getting decent ratings post match. Hopefully he can shut down Haaland like he normally does on Saturday.

Only saw the highlights but he looked to be at fault for every Mexican chance in the first half. Seemed unable to cope with their crosses and movement of Jimenez. Doesn't bode well for Haaland.

Presumably the fact that Konsa has dealt with Haaland probably better than any other centre-back in the world over the various times they've played against each other, does though.

No. Apparently there is a centre back called Dan Burn.

Indeed and he wasn’t responsible for every Mexico chance either.

Come on, he was at fault for giving away the penalty wasn't he. Very noticeable the foot that hits the back of the Mexican leg had a number 2 on the sock.

Konsa makes an easy target, the only people that will leap to his defence are Villa fans.

Fortunately I think the England Manager makes his own mind up, but if Konsa did get dropped then I hope they concede a fucking hatful.

I got help up for 10 minutes in traffic jam caused by a delivery driver double parking. When I looked closely it was Konsa.

Depends on the Villa fan. There are one or two that just hold a grudge for whatever reason and leap on Konsa for everything.

He wasn't great but to ignore Guehi letting Jimenz in for the Pickford stop (which was the catalyst for the first goal), the corner which Bellingham cleared and others. For the first goal, I'm not even sure what else he could do with the ball when the defenders in front allowed it to drop there. He was running at speed towards his own goal with an attacker in close attendence.

Obviously quality of the opposition etc, but noticeable that they didn't play KDB and Belgium ripped the yanks a new one.

Seeing only what you want to see must be a marvellous way to spend your free time.

I didnt watch the game - but from the player ratings he got very mixed reviews - I seen them from 5 - 8 for him.

From what I have seen in the games before that - the structure of the team looked off - meaning the defense was very exposed.

Also - the press love the Terry Butcher type CB who throw themselfs all over the place - shows proper passion - true lion heart etc.

He was as good at the good stuff as the rest, and as bad at the bad stuff as the rest (apart from Quansah, obvs).

The 8 feels generous, but it's definitely closer to that end of the scale - given Mexico spent the last thirty minutes camped on the edge of the England penalty area and didn't score and England didn't really give up any meaningful chances.

So they all did their jobs just fine.
