We need to get Starmer on the phone to Infantino to use his commanding presence to get the red card suspen.... aahh, I see the flaw in that plan.
Possibly, but the main issue with that plan is that Starmer has a different attitude to law and justice to Trump.

Tuchel very critical of the referees we've had. I fear he may be smote by the Infantino big stick for this.

I do think that the big decisions in the game, the red card and both penalties were correct

The Mexicans pissed me off, nasty niggly pricks to a man, why the ref didn't book a lot of them is the question.

Agree, England were up against 12 men. And, 11 minutes added time? Tuchel wasn't pleased with the VAR panel all being South American!

Thank you guys. Just got up and read that as a substitute for watching the match and now feel like I was there!

Henderson doing a Steve Morrow

Steve Morrow was the name that came immediately to my mind, too.

It was worth taking Henderson just for the black comedy value: a yellow card and a tournament-ending injury whilst not even playing a single second of the match.

3 minutes for the ad breaks, and then two VAR's plus the resulting goals and all the subs. Sounds about right to me. I would also state that whilst allowing the niggles, he didn't give the red or the Mexican penalty on the field without prompting. And tbh both of those were the correct calls.

I thought the ref did pretty well considering the rabid atmosphere. He was constantly telling the Mexicans to shut up and got the red card and two penalties correct (even if the Mexican one was "letter of the Law"). I think the continual mobbing got on his nerves

Woke up and caught the second half. Excellent result, very well deserved. Not sure about their penalty though.

The free kick for their first was the kind of soft as shite dive that the refs have generally been ignoring all tournament.

Watching the game now, the jury here is there was no intent for the red card. A straight red? At most a second yellow. I'd love to see cards given for any player pretending to wave a card. Mexico are real street fighters and in the referee's face at every opportunity whilst systematically going around kicking everybody. Ref bottling it with both sides, VAR gave him no chance with the Mexico penalty.

Konsa getting stick and low scores from the tournament journalists but other than the not brilliant clearance that led to there goal and a couple of punts up field, he's been fine. Not sure why Anderson is playing as an 8, mainly chasing shadows and rightly subbed. Why Tuchel didn't put Gordon on the half way line to chase any clearances instead of just booting the ball back to the Mexicans. A tough final 15+ minutes.

Always liked Raul Jiménez, a real top striker who never recovered from his injuries. He's been one of the few Mexicans trying to play football. Konsa had him in his pocket second half.

Overall, give Mexico the ball and nobody to kick, they're a bit shit. Job done.
