Does anyone else think that the best part of a tournament like the WC is always the group stage? Or is it just me? I like having multiple games in a day, I like the variety of fixtures. And the games tend to be more fun.

I do like the volume of games in the groups, and I miss it when there’s no games some days later on.

But this one is frustrating as I can’t watch a lot of the games if they’re on late.

Yeah, being the miserable old git I am, I was absolutely determined not to enjoy this World Cup, but I’m lovin’ it. It’s a proper football overdose in the best possible way.

Only problem is when your sleeping patterns and diet begin to take a hit: I'm worried I'll turn into a giant Pringle!

Dutch looking very good but big gap in the Sweden defence there. And after they gave the ball away on the edge of the Dutch box.  I can't believe how easily they gave it away. A real brain fart.

I really struggle sleeping, I often average only about 4 hours a night.

So I’ve been trying to be really good with bed times this year, and decided it isn’t worth it to stay up and watch anything aside from any England matches.

Yep, great goal. Shame it couldn’t have come before the Netherlands got another couple.

FIFA brings you World Cup hydration breaks sponsored by The Killers.

They seem to play Mr Brightside during every one of these silly breaks.

That's a good point. Hopefully the knock out round of 16 games will continue that momentum.
